Monk Power!!!

Last night I logged in with my monk and I was not sure where to go or what to do. I knew where I'd gone before with my other toons but after my wolf died twice from mobs I went to a place that I frequented with my much higher dwarves. At level 22 every mob was light or deep red. The toughest mobs were the Breca Orc 31 and Breca Orc Archer 32 and my monk and wolf went through them like a hot knife through butter.

After level 25 I did the buffalo quest and switched and it was more depressing than I could handle after the rapture that my wolf brings. It wasn't just because my kill speed dropped through the floor which it did but the fact that the buffalo levels very very slowly. I had over 20% xp left to get to 26 and when I had made my level I looked at the buffalo's xp and it was only 8% into its level. Is there a reason that the buffalo not only does nothing but drag the players leveling speed down but as well levels far slower than the wolf?

I've made the simple decision to switch back to my wolf at least until level 55 and then purchase an improved baby buffalo.

I have never had more fun than I had last night with my monk and force blaster absolutely rocks! Nothing better than starting a fight with 1/4th of the mobs hp gone:D.
wolves take more XP than baby pets, they eat more as well.

baby pets level at roughly the same speed as you if you're at the same level. should be very close at least.
The baby pet and I were both level 25 it was a minimum of 10% slower getting xp than myself. My wolf on the other hand levels as fast or faster.

I just finished hunting with my 30 dwarf and my wolf was level 28 by the time I reached level 31 my wolf was 30% into 29 and it had died 3 times. I was fighting level 34 mobs at the time.
I don't think you understood what I meant.

The baby pets take next to no EXP away from you, somewhere in the neighborhood of 5%, wolves take more than that, although it can do damage so you might level faster overall with the wolf.
I understood what you said. What I'm saying is not only is the leveling slower which I would expect since my damage has been cut in half but the baby pet isn't leveling as fast as my toon is. My character was levelig more or less twice as fast as the pet was despite them being the same level.

In the end I simply decided to stick with the wolf and buy an improved baby buffalo once I hit level 55.
