i know there are post about this but im still lagging 5-10 sec fezzes all the time. this wasn't happening yesterday. but i read that some people are not lagging, did you all do something to fix the problem plz plz pass the information to me because as of right now its not playable for me.
I un-lagged just long enough to get ported into the Olympiad, grab all my buffs, land buffs sticks and then lagged as the gates opened...for 30 seconds...in my DC robes....By the time the spike was over, I was "dead." /facepalm
Last night olympiad is tonight. Is it too much to hope it might be fixed in time? :(
This lag is BS. Sent a support ticket last night, and it's still under investigation.
I currently canceled all my monthly subscription to have a rest from L2. Take a vacation and hopefully things will change when I return.
it is not server lag, it is NOT within NCSoft's network.
I would not be the least bit surprised if majority of you people's locations are dictating the route in which you are taking to the servers.
Frankly i haven't had a better lineage II experience in my entire 5 years of playing.
why?
The route to the servers is WAY better then it was previously.
The problem for you guys?
The route for you guys has seriously been hindered.
Why?
The companies responsible for maintaining the major backbones and routers that your feeding through are in horrible condition, they have no plans to fix this, reguardless of how much you, your isp's or ncsoft and ncsoft's ISPs COMPLAIN to the people responcible for them.
You can also find this information readily available on the internet about intentional Internet distruction. Even a few people that work these systems are aware of it, and quite alot of them are frustrated because they can't get the go ahead to properly solve the problem. They've BEEN told to basically use super glue and tape to jerry rig the connections into working even if it's half and causing massive pings, huge packet loss, and no show connections completely.
This is quite easily proveable as well if your willing to install the programs capable of showing your ping and packetloss visually across the world map and know where the problem is.
Over 4 years ago Savic's network router was going for lack of a better word. The blame was initially put on ncsoft and ncsoft initially placed the blame on the users. This isn't at all abnormal. I mean if a user runs tests and finds his connection is 100%, obviously blame the server, but if ncsoft does the same things and finds it's 100% blame the user. Everyone ignores the middle men between.
It's kinda like having a super highways, And the point A to point B travel is several thousand miles, Just because you drive a few hundred and crash your case because the road is out, doesn't make sense to blame Point B for it. That's Absurd, and the same goes for ncsoft, doesn't make sense to blame the customer either. Sure they are unfortunately the likely starting point, but it shouldn't be.
Find the people responcible for the specific point of the problem and rage on them... both ncsoft, and ncsoft's ISPs, as well as the customer and the customer's ISPs NEED to take on the people responcible.
Funny TRUE story, that 4 years ago alot of canada and some parts of the other world got fully cut off from ncsoft, I was able to track it down to a Shaw Cable router and another connecting ISPs that had failed, and several attempts to get confirmation through shaw proved unsuccessful until i finally got through to someone that was able to not only confirm the problem, but mentioned that there likely wouldn't be something done for awhile.
I got a number, I presented that number of the forums here, within a matter of minutes, not only did i call back from shaw about getting suddenly swamped with calls. They i beleive had the problem fixed in a relatively short period of time. It wasn't Shaw's router specifically but another ISP's they connect to from their network's. The only reason i did this initially to shaw was because they would not inform me of WHO's router it was.
Aparently the poor guy i got a number from had to be let go early from work, hopefully he didn't get fired, but at least the problem got solved, something in which ncsoft and most other customers weren't able to pin point.
You can probably find that thread somewhere on these boards. It's a long one.
Yeah, I can see my ping times to the server are up 50 points compared to normal. I am in IT and tend to agree with the previous poster that it is not NCSoft. I have people in my clan who none are lagging at all and some (like me) are lagging big time.
I was part of those who thought it was server, but after having it now for a long while I know it's not on NC's side.
It really sucks how badly distributed the packages here in Belgium are. A friend of mine has same provider but lives in different part of the country and he has none to almost no lag. Me I get serious freezes of up to 2;5 or 3 minutes of seeing nothing happen and find myself dead by the environment.
Since the changes I've been getting crappier connections but nothing I can do about it unless the middle men does it's job. :(
