If you asking,do tons of people play this game, yes. If you even looked at the forums, you
can tell by this one area, that people play this game, and all have their own ideas about
it.In the end,its graphics, the easy of movement of your character, how easy it is now
to lvl,the variety in types of toons to create, all draw us in.The chance to play with others
from other parts of the world,is so wonderful, and that this game never really ends,
keeps a person logging in.However experiencing a sense of community, with being in
a clan,takes a hit and miss,for a brand new player,and I hope you get that chance.
if you've been reading the forums, you might notice a trend about being ignored at low levels... in one instance someone said they thought it was a single player game until they had a quest to go to gludin i think...
once out of the starter towns, you find more people.
though i suggest going to the town of dion early, porting is free...
and go there, and find a clan which is recruiting.
a clan will help you out a lot... an active clan... will make the game easier to play, conversation is a great break away from mindless grinding:)
I have been playing L2 for almost five years, far far longer than any other game has held my attention. During these five years I have tried various other games, but ALL of them pale in comparison to Lineage2.
I am still enjoying myself greatly. I am still discovering new content in this delightfully huge and complicated world. One of the best parts of L2 is that it is so player driven. The server politics, fights, grudges, friendships and laughture are far more wonderful than any programmer could devise in less thoughtful games.
I hope you get as much pleasure from L2 as I have, welcome!
Awww and what about us good euro's who started 5;5 yers ago on one of the 3 base servers and never left :(
Sieghardt for ever (now known as the merged Sayha) ;)
Anyways...For the participation to events such as Territory wars and sieges I must agree that the euro servers Teon, Luna would be a better choice ^^
Good luck with your quest and should you decide to make a toon on Sayha, feel free to contact me :) We're a bunch of euro's with a small mixture of USA'rs
Can you stop your stupid suggestions for a EU player to play on your dead US servers?
Removing Olympiads, Sieges, Territory Wars and most Raid Bosses from the game just by choosing an inappropriate timezone isn't a good start at all. Even if in the end you decide they don't interrest you, that's not a decision you can make when entering the game. So let the players all the possibilities at reach, and then he'll choose.
To sum up so you don't get confused - Teon, Franz and Luna are designed for Euro players. Sieges, wars, etc. are during Euro primetime.
There is a healthy population of Euro players on all the servers, in fact some of the NA servers actually have more Euros than Americans. However, sieges, wars, etc. on those servers take place during American primetimes, which is usually the middle of the night in Europe (like sieges that start at 2am GMT and finish at 4am GMT or Olympiads that start at midnight GMT and last till 6am.) So all the Euros who play the NA servers have to stay up incredibly late to participate and often don't get the opportunity to participate as much as if they were on a Euro-based server.
As far as people not talking to you, there's not really a lot of players around the newbie zones, bots or real. If they are in town, they may be AFK. There are also some NPCs in each starter town that look and act a lot like real players - they walk or run around, their names look like real players, they seem to talk. But they're NPCs, so don't get offended if they don't respond to you. :p (There's one just outside of DE village that runs around, one in LE village that walks around, a little kid in Schuttgart, etc.)
Levels 1-20 goes fast, then you can get on to Dion, which usually has a healthy population of people. You can start finding raid boss groups and Kama groups to level up. And of course find a clan.
BTW - I never understood why people post here and say they're thinking of playing/buying/returning to L2... you can't post on here w/o an active L2 account (can't even log on) so that means if they're posting - they've already bought/reactivated the game and are probably playing it.

Well i am in luna, but at least sayha have less bots than your teon server :)

Keep your flames it's not being objective nore helpful to the OP'r either and reading comprehension would be a nice thing for people to have...
My suggestion does not force the player to come my way, it's just a suggestion as good as any other to be suggested and yes we do stuff on NA servers as euro players. Sorry if that doesn't approve with your view on how my server seems to work still. I haven't said in my post he SHOULD come I only show there are a faire amount of euro's on the NA servers and if he would choose to enter an NA server and it happens to be mine, he's welcome to PM me. Btw the good start you wish any new player is based on the choices they make with all the info they get...Not the fact a NA server was offered as a solution. It's the newcomer's perogative to choose to take it in consideration or not, I merely show what is out there.
@ Listof: thanks for that post :) that's exactly how things go for euro's on the NA servers. It's a choice but it's possible, it's only a wee bit harder :) and yeah Starter place will tend to be very silent considering with the new system you are fairly quick out of there.
To OP: thanks to the vitality system and the newby buffs you can get till A grade you can fairly well grow on a fast pace still now in the game. It only depends on the amount of time you are able to be online. You can also team up with pick-up teams (that will be the people who you see shouting in orange text to find participants) who often will go for Kamaloka's (mini bosses) and which give a nice amount of XP/SP to those who finish the boss off. Now these pick-up teams will depend from server to server (I know on mine it's becoming back in the habbit which is nice to see).
Just make sure you choose a server where you feel you'll be happy in ways of timezone issues. If you can't be online till 5 AM in the morning then an NA server will be a place where you'll only manage to pve grind and quest (occasional raids depending on the clan you might join) but it sure will have you out of Territory wars and sieges (those happen very late at night on NA's).
If you have any other questions feel free to post them on here or feel free to PM me here on the boards ifyou have more specific questions regarding the game, it's mechanics or any info you'd like to see answered.
Again Have fun!! and remember: It's but a game ;) (trust me some players in this game take things a bit too serious at times)
