i remember 2 years ago there was always a raid party going and you would have no trouble finding a raid group you can level 20 - 40 in 1 or 2 days easy. you still can if your in a big clan.
but you can't even call L2 a MMO anymore cause its not lol. all the servers are light traffic
castle seiges should be like at least 75 v 75 people at "Every castle" not just 1 or 2 there should be 150 + toons (Total) at every castle seige thats a MMO.

i dont know what you are talking about, as most territory wars have much more than 50 vs 50 and castle sieges are still in the 150 vs 150 area, usually more. any raid boss worth doing is usually killed close to its spawn time and i havnt seen teon on "light" for a while, at least no in typical euro times.
also, if you hate L2 so much, why is your account active?
should just merge all servers and not just na ones!then Ncsoft would only have to takecare of one server and problem solved.L2 isnt dead just lil spread thin atm.....u have aion another Ncsoft game that alot of ur l2 ppl are trying out and ether or will still be ppl playing l2 but i think biggest thing Ncsoft should do for l2 is maybe get rid of lv capping event like things ...........kama raids ect :)

i have beta characters on sayha, and would like them to stay there...
meanwhile my phoenix characters are fun to play.
my good friend plays on teon and phoenix... i'm sure there are many more.
also... NCsoft makes money on all of those who wish to maintain play on multiple servers simultaneously.
phoenix is a strong server...
therefore there is always something to do, almost always a party to be joined... even though i solo a lot out of malice.
if you're having trouble, try joining a more active clan.

This is a like it or not situation.... less ppl = less income from server ..... Less income from server = cutting back on maintaining the servers and the ppl employed to do so = finally merge servers.............but before this all happens and greater problems is the bugs that cant be fixed due to low amount of money needed to pay the techs to fix em.If everyone can fit in 1 server would mean less bugs / and more ppl to play with.
AION is gonna be the death nell to L-2. Mianly becuase it only makes business sense for NC-Sot.

I expect L-2 may hang arround for a good long time. Two more years at least.
Heck they may even eventually make it a free to play while it slowly dies like Guild Wars.
Merge it all to one server and release the game in stores with a free year subscription, or something so people won't need to pay monthly. That may very well be the one and only way to repopulate.
Sounds like someone is getting bored with L2 atm. AION is junk compaired to L2 just look at any of the vids out now(not the game the RMT). The hole game is automated from the start knowone care about getting cought. It never made it out of beta before it started getting farmed. I wouldn't touch it even if it was free and know atleast 100+ players who wont either.

I have been playing L2 since Nov 9 2004 and every year there are different times when the player base shrink for a month or so. Usually in the spring and in the fall. It's the same every year. Most of those players will be back and things will be fine.
As far as server mergers go, im sure NcSoft lost alot of real players when those servers merged. Specially ones that lost clan halls after the merger. There are a few things in this game that will cause players to quit and loosing a clan hall is one of them. Personaly if Devienne merged with another server and we lost or clan hall I would be done. But this is just me and of course a few other players I know. Really the merger threads are getting as bad as the bot threads. If you don't like the server you are on there is nothing stoping you from moving to another. Just because someone isn't happy on the server they picked doesn't mean everyone should be forced to deal with a merger.
It's sad but I know the threads will continue until the unhappy people get thier way, oh well when they do it will save me a few dollars a month.

The only solution to the clan hall travesty is for them to open twice as many on the newly merged server, as I have said a few times. There are many empty buildings all over Aden map that can be made into them... and they should all be duplicated so that the clans just have to click one or the other of an equal clan hall.
If they do merge servers which im sure they will and im hoping soon , i hope they start maps at 0 ownership.This way all clans will have a chance at claiming a Fort/Castle/halls .............Strong clans would just gain back what they lost easy.Maybe a pay back to Owners of halls/Fort/Castles in some way so they dont lose out on what they put in.I mean im old enough to remember Atari and NES and alot of times when u turned off ur game u had to start at 0 when u turned it back on.Some games were more fun b/c of this.Ur characters remaind the same in previous merge but in a future one the more older players will be prepared for this one if it comes.
I think biggest issue would be try to give current owners of such something back so it wont be too devistating to them for the loss of hard work but as i said strong clans will get whats theirs no matter what is done.Small clans who owned hall...ect and cant get it back will just have to maybe merge with other small clans to build which isnt a bad idea and a merge would help that

I get very little lag.
Once in a Blue Moon the lag I get is too bad to actually do anything, but its rare and usually never lasts long. Perhaps a couple hours.

i agree with the OP. It would be nice to get all the Adena sellers and bots on one server...maybe the competition would eliminate a few.

You're right in saying some may have left after the server mergers. I don't really know of any personally, all those that I knew on Seighardt are still there for the most part (The one's that didn't leave before via transfer).
But that brings up a good point. If server mergers aren't going to work then why not offer periodic discounts on their account services to make them more widely available for more people. Not all the time, just every, let's say 6 months. Make them 66% off for a week. Really the community isn't small it's just smaller than it was. It's being spread out on so many servers that makes people feel lonely.
Can someone fill me in on why we have a server transfer option in our acct managements page please. Like alot of others i'm tired of seeing a gazillion threads on this issue that are not bringing anything new at all to this discussion. What was the point supposed to be of bringing another thread up about Server Merges?
Was the point: mom and dad won't let you use the service so you have to keep asking in a gazilion threads to merge servers? If so as you can see a few of us players are tired of seeing it posted all over the boards. So please keep them in one topic cuz it is all the same info and nothing new is being said on this.
Clan halls are always going to be an issue becuase everyone under the "Moon of Aden & Elmore" feel a need to make another clan which as we can see makes it hard to get more players in your clan to build it up.
So how about this for an idea? NCSOFT puts a thing in acct management where we go in and put down info of what characters we have that we want to keep, the gear to keep, and any other miscellaneouse stuff that would need to be there. Then after say 1 month which should be enough time to get all the players aware of what's about to happen and to take advantage of this so they don't have to start from scratch. After that 1 month of preparing all the players for it they do a server wipe and completely erase all the servers and do what maintence they need to be done.
While that is going on ,say for 1 month to fix the server issues, you folks crying bloody murder that your servers are dead and there is only 2 of you on at a given time will be able to play with everyone else on the public test server and get ganked on a daily basis by those of us that are being forced into this.
When maintenence is complete and NCSOFT sees all the active accounts that go inactive over losing a month of play time on thier mains, then they can make the decision to merge or not merge based on how many accts they have paying to play the game.Then when that decision is finalized after say 2 months then all accts still active will get thier toons back on either our old servers or a new server.
This idea is most likely the only "NEW IDEA" OF THE WHOLE SERVER MERGE DISCUSSION.
So if anything post it in a new thread from a copy and paste and then discuss it that way and I for one won't gripe at all becuase it brought something new to your discussion.
There is no real "new idea's" to bring to the table... And people continue to discuss it because it continues to be an issue plaguing this game.

It's obvious that some people want server merges, while some (most? or just most vocal?) don't. It's also obvious that NC West will not merge servers unless advised by NC Korea ("you want to run our new content on your servers with how many lvl78s, lol?").
So what exactly do you want to add with your new threads?
Ncsoft in general will do what is most cost affective wether good for u or not.
if they said "It would be cheaper to end linage2 and focus on Aion("which looks sweet")/Lineage3/..ect with all our resources."i think they would do so but it shows with them still running L1 that they will continue to run this game as long as a community of ppl play it but this doesnt mean with as many servers.I dont think a server merge is main reason ppl quit but maybe gave a lil more stress to the matter of being pushed to that point.Time put into a game is hard to turn ur back on for most but thinking of quiting is a solider reason than over just a server merge with would have less effect ina grand sceme of things

Well to answer you on that repetitive question. Talk about it all you like my point was we don't need the boards littered with it in a gazillion threads when 1 thread will more than suffice. Too many threads on the same issue just look's like a bunch of players are looking for something to complain about.

Yes i agree with you Smittie....since Lyzira has been deleting, moving post it has made the game so much more enjoyable for me. Inow just love to watch cheaters and bots running around...it so cute!

Now question to those that think we need a server merge. Do you think after a server merge that all of a sudden people will stop boxing and start using other players for support classes? Answer is nope. Do you think the markets will be any different than they are now on 1 server? Not much if any difference is most likely a correct answer to that. Do you think all of a sudden players will stop cheating becuase they have more players to play with and the game will all of a sudden get cleaned up? Say yes and your a fool.
I am not sure exactly how many times the player base has to say it to get it said in a language you folks understand ,but they have server transfers already for this "My servers dead merge servers." crap that's littered the forums. Pay to transfer or reroll on another server. You already have those options available to you so why keep iritating the playerbase with all these threads? Take advantage of your options that's what they are there for becuase you aren't going to get a 100% support from the player base on your whining that you need a server merge.
Will you be happy listening to all the clans complain they lost clan halls and every other complaint under the sun if they merge servers? We had enough servers before that helped with that prob and then they merged servers and some folks lost the clan halls and NCSOFT hasn't put anymore in and i'm sure folks have been asking for a few yrs now and it doesn't look like anymore are going to be introduced. What's your answer to that issue since it's a big one for some clans. Also with a server merge your going to have alot of players not real happy about a forced name change on thier characters and some actually might quit over a server merge then what you gonna do when only 10 of you are playing with bots? A merge would = more players on 1 server and if ppl leave b/c of a merge then maybe they were going to leave anyways but needed more fuel.Once again though it will all come down to wether or not NcSoft is making enough money to maintain as many servers with the current community of players and if the feel they have gotten enough complaints about the low amount of ppl on one server by players/Gms/Dev team.Just b/c 1 set of ppl are doing fine doesnt make it great for the whole keep that in mind.Personally id rather solo but i do like to see other ppl pass by or even a HL in a funny mood kill me while im soloing a mob >.>; lol. There's a counter argument that the playerbase is also requesting server merges, don't forget you are not the playerbase nor do your opinions represent the playerbase accurately, you 're just one side of the argument ;)
Indeed, all of Eamonn's arguments have been presented over and over. The thread lacks any originality and does not provoke interesting discussion because the dead horse is, well, dead.
While it is agreed that server mergers are a viable choice for NCSoft and many players, it is also disruptive and casts many clans out on the street and should only be done as a last chance option.
One thing to remember, when there is healthy competition on a server, the boxing of toons doesn't happen as much because the need for live players to protect yourself and your hunting grounds, etc., gets greater and greater... which means the boxes are for the quiet leveling times and nothing more.
Server Transfers and rerolls are NOT really a choice, as they offer the individual player a much greater actual loss than a clan losing a clan hall (which could be remedied by NCSoft easily by making many empty buildings through the server into clan halls to compensate).

If you want to donate your equipment I would be happy to oversee that it is used to help people who would otherwise never even be able to afford B grade.
I would accept a 20% fee from the proceeds and use the rest in a non profit manner.
I think its fair to say I operate taking at least a 5% hit out of my own pocket as it is.

That's exactly how you folks sound to me with all these server merge threads and how the players sounded with more than one main to sub thread. They also whined about the amount it cost to do it. I can't even remember how many of those whiners said thank you to NCSOFT when they got the 1st server merges or the amount of players who said thank you for the sub to main service. It obviousely wasn't many. I think maybe 2 people actually showed some manners and said ,"Thank you", on the sub to main whining that was going on but like I said not exactly sure on the numbers.
So Dr.Tulp maybe you should tell the rest of the playerbase to "Get a grip." and stop with the consistent whining that is going on. More than 1 thread on the same topic is essentially whining.
