i bought this game a little bit ago online and im downloading it right now. ive heard of this game but never got around to trying it. i have no idea about anything in this game . if anyone knows a good server to start out with that would be awesome. i played world of warcraft for a long time and it got boring so i thought id try something new.
if you have any suggestions about a character type id take em. thanks
I am already stuck with the time invested in Linage as are most of us, but you being new with nothing invested in terms of time and effort might want to reconsider.

It may well be that Lineage 2 is THE BEST MMO available out there.
The problem is it is missing its most important ingredient.
Server populations are terrible.
The other major problem your going to have is affording your A grade equipment and if you think thats hard wait til ya hit S grade.
Unless someone in game who is very wealthy decides to be generous to you the truth is you will likely give up when you realize how hard it is.
Its either that, or you become a Boter, or E-Bay your adena for real cash.
Once upon a time you could make tons of adena merchanting and crafting in game legal ways. Not anymore. Not enough server population for a viable market.
Still though you can have alot of fun with B grade Alts.

Make a dwarf. Any dwarf. Learn the game a bit by levelling that toon to lvl 40; do kamalokas, join a clan, do some raid bosses...
Then keep your dwarf at 40 and level another toon, this time based on your knowledge of the game. Use your dwarf as a transport/warehouse/sellshop toon.
i made a dark elf fighter. i got to level 10 and now im completley lost lol
Hi spook i'm on Phoenix server and I play a DE Abyss Walker and I know a friend who plays a Shillien Knight as well, so if you are thinking of 1 of those 2 classes and you need some help just give me a PM and i'll help ya out. If your on Phoenix though then definately give me a shout cuz I heard Isabelies EliteAdventuringCompany is getting a website where you can get help there from it's clan members.
They are a great group of folks and are always looking after thier members unlike some clans that i've heard of on Aria.
For example i heard a Aria clan won't help thier academy members out if they put mats and stuff into the clan warehouse to help the Dwarf crafters in exchange with getting shots. That clan says thanks now go buy your own shots wich isn't real friendly and is a bad way to make people want to be in your clan. The EAC is much different and it actually knows about Teamwork unlike say EOD & Pyke of Aria which was the clan i heard about.
Advent of Mutiny is another great clan of Phoenix that i've heard about and I think they are friends of the EAC but i'll need 1 of thier members to confirm that for me.
My clan just has me in it for a fatty warehouse or i'd recruit you into it.
im not on that server im on the dev one. i can switch over tho if your willing to give me a hand with the basics. im not sure about sub class's. havent really explored that in depth into the game so far

I don't have a toon that high yet so yea switch over and i'll give ya all the help i can.
i think im past that part i picked the non dark elf place to go. i did a couple quests already.
"That part" is up to 18, then making first class change.
Welcome to Lineage2, the best game I have ever played...and I have played a LOT of games. NO other one holds my interest after five years, only Lineage2. I am still finding new content and excitement and fun.
Admittedly L2 isn't for everything. For people who like things easy and simple there are kiddie games like wow and checkers. But if you have the drive to stick with things and the will to compete and succeed the L2 is a ride you will remember forever.
Welcome, I hope you enjoy the game as much as I have. And ignore the negative posts, just a bunch of immature whiners imho.
