still far more hardcore than some...
though others hold true in the absolute niche of hardcore pvpers...
two ways to fix pvp in L2...
either make it easier to level...
or make it so level doesn't matter...
I think that they went about it all wrong. They seem to want to speed up leveling from 1 to 60-70 or what ever.
They should have made it much more interesting to be in that level gap instead. By adding I don't know, junior Olympiads? More "jump in" pvp/clan pvp stuff.
Right now, all there really is to do from 1 to 80+ is grind, grind, make some money and then grind some more.
Duno seeing ppl QQ is kinda funy at times.
Our clan enjoys doing stuff together or even being in vent together so the grind is not so monotonous, but there is clearly something wrong with most ppl that join, is kind of a clan requirement.
Ima need a definition of childis and hardcore to be able to provide any sort of opinion on that.

You've got a point. Players don't like to get dominated by high level players all the time therefore the designers have to come up with way for players to close the gap otherwise it just gets bigger and bigger between newcomers and veterans each level cap increase. Of course, perhaps if there was a way for mid-level players to PvP in isolation from the top end then this wouldn't be so much of an issue - and the grinding/botting issue would be less of a factor too.
Gludio, Dion, Oren, and Innadrill should not be available to S grade or higher.
Should any of those high-end players set foot into the siege grounds they would die and instantly lose 3 levels IMO.
newbs still lose then, cause u also cant compete to a bunch of a-grade subs from top clans which have +6 sets and +16 weapons. so they also not allowed to enter siegefield? u ever thought about playing single-player-game?^^
Sometimes the L2 grinds make me turn back to strategy games for comfort while I QQ.... idc though, I prefer PvE over PvP any day
I don't know about that. Endless PvE to me is like...playing MapleStory. You grind for days to get money and levels to buy better gear to grind for days and you reach max level and...thats it. Congradulations you hit max level. I can't do that, to me if there is not any sense of competition, the game is boring and pointless, like maplestory.
I thought that 90% of the players just pushed a button and went afk for a month or two and find lvl 7x-8x chars when they come back to check how their automated chars are doing...
Funy thing is that they are usualy the ones that also complains about the grind even whey they haven't grinded a second of their "play" time.

The effort that each player puts into leveling and gearing his character is a big part of the Player vs Player aspect of L2. Some people think that combat = PvP so they cirumvent a huge part of the competition by afk XPing only to sign back up to a clan for siege/raid etc.
The designers gave us a platform on which to compete in terms of level and gear and mutual co-operation. Some players see the benefit and longevity in competing on this basis where others ignore this aspect of the game and water down the depth of PvP in L2 to merely combat. Then, add all the assist software that is used in combat, the massive imbalances and OP skills/classes and what is actually left? May as well play Maple Story or another plain PvE game than look for any meaningful competition in L2.

well said and thats the main reason why I don't PvP...it's pointless to go against those person since they have nearly everything automated.
dude i started playing lin2 a month and a half ago. Neither the game nor I have 5 years of play left. Sure it's easier than it used to be, but in order to get new players to join in a old player world it is as it is, deal with it. Stop being such a , you sound like a carebear from wow or everquest. Be thankful new players like me come on and kick your to give u a reason to keep playing. Nub. Pwnt, GG

true true,
i think many ppl dont have probs with real newbs, sure they dont have 5 years time, but those who play since 3 or 4 years and still cry about the game is to hard and all costs so much going on our nerves. that are exactly the players who stucked at mid 50ies-mid60ies before vitality and now stuck and 76-78 and cry how hard it is.

Yea the guy with the higher levels and best gear generally wins

In this game pvp is the combat, this is a pvp mmo; Castle sieges is pvp, Olympaid is pvp, wars is pvp, fighting over xp spots is pvp, they even have a pvp count and karma system in this game This is a pvp game. Also not everyone bots.

And the sole purpose of doing that is to have a pvp advantage with higher levels, better gear, and support.

If PvP is not combat, what is it then?

The competition of maplestory was who can hit level 200 first, then you quit and move on realizing you wasted a huge amount of time in your life on a pointless fun deprived game.
