So, how do you feel about playing your DC past 80? How many of us do? Is there enough motivation? Are our 80+ skills good? Is the Dynasty set good and helpful for our role? What are your views?

unfortunately the land rate currently of burning chop isn't the best...
gracia + burning chop becomes enchantable, so it will land better.
once that happens, i'm sure great fury will be very much desired...

Triggering Greater Fury doesn't depend on Burning Chop landing, just using the skill will trigger it. And Burning Chop will not be enchantable in G+, but they do give the last 2 lvls of it - right now Burning Chop stops at lvl 70, in G+ you can learn two more lvls at 72 and 74.
Anyway, to answer the original question.
Lvling a DC past 79 isn't really worth it compared to other classes. We have no lvl 80 skills at all, our 81 skills are almost worthless, Enlightenment is purely an olympiad skill, it's never used for anything else, same thing with Magicians Will.
Greater Fury is nice, but nothing amazing, it requires you to spam Chop non stop. For pvp it's pretty much a non factor, it will trigger 2-3 times in a pvp and the effect of it wont really be noticed unless it's a pure archer group (and who does archer groups for pvp these days), melees need to run up to the target so the 7 seconds of +50% attack speed probably wont even get used.
For pve it's ok, definitely increases kill speed, but to use it you gonna need decent armor and resists to survive hitting the mobs in HB.
And when it comes to skill enchants, the only thing worth enchanting is CoV to +15 for no run speed penalty and maybe get sleep up to help in pve, but the rest of the skill enchants are crap.
As for our gear options, the Dynasty robe and light set are really bad, -2 int +2men and cast speed, things that are useless on a DC these days.
Although that being said, DC is still superior to prophet when it comes to buffing, CoV is the best prophecy, buffing a whole group in a couple seconds, etc. You usually only need 1 prophet for big raids to give out resist buffs and counter crit, all groups will still have DC. So if you are in a decent clan, you will of course lvl to 83+ if you keep playing, but it would be better to invest that time in a class that has more badass 83 skills and useful enchant options.
Should also add that DCs are decent dds now with infinite mp so you can keep soul cry up non stop, with S80 dagger you can crit chimeras for 3.5-4k (300 crit rate self buffed, 400+ with sws), 8k+ with counter crit - good small group for chims is DC, BD, SE and some melee DD (spam chant of life to counter heat of desert). You can even _solo_ aoe (and I do mean solo, no boxes what so ever) darkness/fog if you have S80 pole with crit stun and 200ish dark resist.
In short:
If you wanna secure DC hero and do some olympiad, go ahead and get 85, otherwise have DC as a sub and something else as main.
Well I pretty much agree with what molle said. The reason I waited so long to answer is to see if anyone responded to this thread. The absence of responses only confirms the sad truth: very few DC continue to play live after 79-80. As it was stated above, there are very few skills and motivation in general to level up. Due to that I am affraid that any suggestions will have a hard time getting through to NC since we lack numbers in order to be heard. Well, hope dies last...

It's a support class; it will never be pwnage, but what I've decided is that screw being a DD when you have to worry about buffs when you can be a DC and be like "buffs? didn't you see my arms swirling for 5 secs? You're buffed son."
I want to be able to OE Hammer Crush so we can go have fun like with Dance of Medusa, but Bladedancers gear options suck. I'm still lvling my SD when she has vitality, but the freedom of a DC to choose almost any gear and be fine is priceless in a gear-based game. It's a really casual class. That's useful as hell in party and clan in any group. I can't whine.

Supports are basically all the same, except for being healers (if there's not enough vr tanking already :rolleyes:). The only thing that makes the difference is whether you enjoy playing your class or not. If you enjoy playing your class, and no matter what other people thinks or what skills they are going to have (or not have), you should keep playing it. If you have to play something that you don't enjoy playing and nothing else appeals to you, simply quit the game would be better for your own sake :)
Like say molle, skills after 80 arent that good, am dc almost 80, i wont get dynasty crap set, cause i think we need the int for pvp and less Men, but i live and love play DC, just we dont have much pvp skils, or maybe noone ;( and still no patch for our OE stun's .....
i am GK in sub some day thinking to change as main.......crap.
Ncsoft could give us a new drain of life or maybe somthing for pvp at lvl83, no symbol at 80, .....
ok we assistant class BUT one the most powerful (my think ^^) ! and in Oly i often win in all class combat.....
for pve, i often tank in my MA set, in catacombs or rift hero, we easy expe, and good dd with soul cry oed.
I will play my DC until she cannot go any further. I love what she can do and the diversity of the Doomcryer. I can wear all armour and pull off things other buffers could only dream of. I may not hit as hard as a tank but I can aoe with the best of them. Dynastic Essence 2 on my robes is amazing. It has really decreased my mp consumption which really helps in Oly. A sigil during pvp and I hardly have any mp issues at all. Doomcryer is the most well rounded character in the game. I get to try everything with my character, and I do. Skills after 80 are good but they could be better when you see what other classes get. I mean who wouldn't want a bubble. However I love enlightenment, greater fury is coming soon and I can't wait to try it. I will never be an out of party buffer and FOR SHAME for those of you who do. Do not under estimate the power of the orcs!
