Yes, the old times were really good times. By giving the players what they demanded (easier levelling, cheaper GKs, protection from PKers, etc...) NCSoft inadvertantly removed the features which made the game great, and thereby gave up their strategic advantage.
When you imitate other products, you make all products more generic. The customers have less choice since all products are similar and players leave.
In other words, I wish NCSoft had continued with a Focus Differentiated strategy instead of imitating WoW.
Does anybody actually have any screenshots of the login and loading screens from prelude all the way until now? I have seen a few around but not all of them in one place. I dont even remember what some of them look like now.

yea sadly not the game I like so much anymore.
but still plays becuse... what else is there :) still have some entertaining value.
I started at the beginning of C3. These screenies of the login's bring back a flood of memories, mostly about the excitement of the game and the people that I played with, most of whom are on different servers, if they are still playing at all -- which most aren't. But that's the way time flows....
**** thank u for that video. Makes me remember how much i used to like the overall feel of this game when i started it :) I still like it but it is not the same
I played the open beta of Aion for a couple of days and its log-in screen also got a nice sound. especially the first few seconds. if you played it you know what i mean.
Maybe nice log-in screens are an nc soft trademark ;)

Nothing beats the ol' NetCoGsomething or other from OB.
Back then, the log in screen was a game in and of itself.
