Heros who are mostly botted in the first place somehow lend any weight at all to make the poll more legitimate? I dont think so. NCSoft will merge the servers or shut down the game when it isnt profitable for them any more, not because anybody puts yet another merge post on the forums with yet another poll sponsored by a few players who happen to be heros that month.
For me, I dont care either way so no vote from me.
I vote that they reduce the price of server transfer and let people leave their server if they want more competition ...
I also vote that people making these "Server Merge" threads do a search of the forums before they start their thread. Obviously this is an ongoing thing because people continue to talk about it and we see 2 or 3 "server merge" threads a week. People are not happy with the size of our dwindling community right now, but server mergers are complicated and while they help a lot of people they hurt a lot of people as well.
It's not that we don't want your opinion HolyBlade, and it's certainly not that many people don't share you opinion, it's the fact that starting new threads each time is just... messy. :P
I vote that each and every moron who has the nerve to start these idiotic "server merge" (aka "beating the dead horse") threads must be permanently banned from the forum.

I don't want a merger. I like the server I play on (Sayha) as it is. I like the society and relationships we have developed, I understand the economy, the politics are interesting, and there are plenty enough people for my tastes.
I'd like to see a server merge...it would be nice to have all the apples in one barrel!

I do not want to be FORCED to play with all the idiots from the other servers. And I do not want to lose my clan hall - getting a clan hall during a server merge is pure luck, and we already got lucky at the previous server merge, so I am sure we would lose our ch the next time >.<
Server merges will make people leave the game, not make old players come back. Maybe some will come back, but overall it will be a minus in players.
I vote yes because I want a merge of EU servers just to have a waiting queue like Aion I'm so jealous of that game!
No. The servers should be left alone. I frankly do not see what the hoopla is about Aion. It has much less classes to play AND every online game has some of the same problems. Some of those people that left will be back.
The grass is not always greener on the other side. I still see quite a few people on the different servers I play on. New people too.

once they lvl up to max in 3 weeks & see alot of the game is just like Wow,

Nope, those with Clan Halls also don't want to loose them. The ones that want to, can transfer to any server they wish, if yours is so bad, get your clan and move to another server.

It's not that the server we play on is bad. In my case its Phoenix...a server that is known for no bots or cheating of any kind...would like to take a moment and thank NC and their wonderfull staff for doing such a marvellous job!
It's just that i think it would be fun to have no dead servers for people to farm and bot on.
Therefor all those fun loving kids....like say...i don't know....hummmm....lets say......Nova....would have some decent competion for those places they just love to level in :)
game is dead neways, + vote. lol at ppl crying about exp spot when the game 4 years ago u had to pvp for every single spot. do u not remember this? when the game was fun? lets face it l2 is not like it was back then, so need 1 server if u want that competitive level. or u can jsut cry about bots in ur exp spot on a dead server. Sayha has less then 1k players that connect daily. Dev/Bartz are just above 1k. Pheonix is 2k. Teon/Franz/Luna all 2-3k. All NA servers need to be merged for this game to survive Aion and upcoming Star Wars TOR. If u voting no, game is already dead, ur bad if u dont realize that.
Majority of MMOs are player based, especially Lineage 2. This game is losing a large amount of players over time compared to what it's gaining. That should be a no-brainer and it shouldn't even be necessary to make that comment. A large reason is because of Aion, new eye candy with a lot of hype.
L2 deserves a merge to create more player interaction and the game feeling populated. I've seen a huge increase in EULA enforcement recently. The server I play as well as some other servers friends play have lost quite a bit of population over time. I had been split away from players over time due to the ability to transfer.
I have played five years and I personally refuse to transfer at this point in game. Reasons for this include already transferring once and I would be losing a large portion of work on multiple characters. The market is bad enough to try to get transferable value so I could easily gain what had been lost. Not to mention what it would cost me, because I would need to move more than one character. There needs to be less servers, so current players who might like to transfer or newer players have less selection. More selection is a nice way for people who are never satisfied to keeping choosing the next thing in line they might convince themselves is better.
I voted Yes for a merge and from my current standpoint I feel L2 has a lot of potential, but was just never able to thrive as it should have. I feel Lineage 2 NA requires a merge and because of the possibility of this happening refuse to transfer again. It sucks, because I'll miss out on some areas of the game, which at my current stage in game would be more enjoyable with what other servers have to offer.
I gotta agree with DarkDragon's reasoning. There is a lot of adena and time and effort put into high level characters. Many people have multiple accounts, not to mention the augmented jewels, weapons that cannot be kept. Transfers require multiple toons to be transferred just for the gear, and this is accentuated by the stupid ceiling on the adena that can come with u.
Why don't the people who like a quiet server do the transferring ...?
The only problem with server merges is the Clan Hall situation, which, I think can be easily remedied by NC Soft. They have many loyal L2 players still, even in the face of Aion premiering. They should cater to them.
I don't know well situation at other servers then Teon... but Teon don't require merge.
With current population when you are 7x is not easy to find spot to exp.
I heard that Luna / Franz are also crowded ( bots/or real people doesn't meeter - spot is still taken).
Maybe in future merging will be necessary but not for now.
Teon has strong participation at many events. Sieges are still 'for real' no situation when 15 ppl can try take castle. Taking castle with less than 100 ppl is impossible.
All CH are taken and those siegeable CH (FoD/DevCast/Bandit/HotSpring) are always under clans control.
All Forts are continuously under clans control as well.
Teon politics is still very intresting and don't requre fresh blood. Most 7x+ people that come to Teon know reason to come - they join some of PvP clans. I can imagine that for people that not used to massive PvP marging with lesser space to exp would be disaster. Most cases they would be kicked of from spots by strong clans/allies that are focused on PvP.
I can see a server merge being a good thing for the really low population servers, but if they do another server merger for Phoenix so that (I exaggerate - a bit) 80% of the server population will be lvl 85 "top pvp clan" members from 2-3 servers and there will be absolutely NO high lvl spot to grind in anymore for normal players, I will be gone. Yes, I know, none of the "real" players who "play the game it is meant to be played" (which apparently involves doing everything to dominate a server, trashtalk and then asking for a server merge when the opposition says "screw this" and leaves, I guess) will care. Just saying. It's already bad enough as it is right now, there just aren't enough spots for all the 80+ people.
I won't vote yes or no because there is no option "yes, for the servers which need it, but leave my server alone".
They probably should merge ... Bartz/Devianne and Franz/Luna then at a later date Aria/Phoenix so we 'll end up with 2 NA and 2 Euro servers, which is enough considering the game's dwindling population and NCsoft's unwillingness to look for new subscribers

Lionna was great when it was dead. I sold Shots like crazy every night and I always had a room in the Catta. Then we Merge with Kain and it was bots every were and I hardly sold shots when 100's of Dwarfs all over selling shots.
Our RolePlay Night on Tuesday died off just about after the merge.

as i see on my server game needs adjustements to survive,merge as it is now would only make problems bigger.
my suggestions:
-the game as it is now makes you to stop grow after 76lvl,you take your last skills then you see you cant make money on market to keep gearing your toon.when it was a new game you could play with market,make dorfs and keep crafting/spoiling selling,this cant work any more,no enough new players will start this game to ''feed'' the market.
-i believe only 2-3 servers have their old big clans active,on my server all first big clans have quit,people sold their toons,their epics,leaving behind the name of the clan some times the ch and an empty wh,so there's no clan help for people that begun this game 1-2 years ago,they have to make everything on their own ,
so either after some months of trying theyll get bored,or theyll bot and ebay(if they can).
-since not enough people for team work lets give single player and small groups options
lets make ways for valuable drops(they could be non tradeble too)like s and s80 grade armors/weapons and
jewles with stats like the ones at oly from
raids that can be done with 1 group,raids or instances for 2 persons and more raids with multiple acess like tiat
this could give motivation to the active players that are left to gather and achieve something,also would be attractive for new players to keep grinding.

... as for voting... i only vote yes to server merge if increase character count to... 35... per account. meh, i play on a lot of servers, and don't want to lose my characters... even those ickle level 4's from beta.
The role-play is on Aria, which is where Lionna ended up after Kain got its hands all over her. She felt a little defiled and used, but after a shower (and a restraining order) is back on her feet.

lol thats bull****, the game in fact begins at lvl 76, and if u need gear start varkas/ketras quest. u can start that at lvl 72 or 73 if i remember right, and then u easily have your s-armor when u hit 76. same for weapons. just try it and u will see it works.

so big pvp clans take more castles, and even if normal ppl get 1 or 2...if u increase the number of castle, u decrease the adena u can earn with a castle and crash prices. so there would be no benefit anymore to have a castle, u cant even sell half of the crap a castle offers anymore...

now we have rich, unemployed and botted up ppl who own the server, after that only rich ppl rule the server...i dont give a **** as long as its still possible to get stuff w/o donations

my WS is 74, my FS is 76 (on same account, so not powerlvl'd) my hiero is 78 and my Saggi is 77...so what? ah wait, thats also overpowered classes i guess.
its a fact that some ppl are just to dumb to play that game, they dont think about what could be possible nor do they try out new things. they go to t-rex or some raids cause they heart it can be done with 5 ppl, try it, fail and never try again...yes this game is more then buff up and /attack... u have to work on your success.
just check out what others do and try to do the same. make replays/fraps/screens if some1 makes awesome stuff and try to find out HOW they did it and if u could do that too in another way. e.g. i was sure that only tank or titan can tank longhorn, untill i saw also a dagger or SD can (w/o s80 stuff) or even some transform can do that. some party set up dont even need a tank...
imo ppl should think and try out more and cry less.

selling ketra recs gave me 2 b which i 've spent to make am 150 back when hb was closed and only 2 farmers were selling dark stones on devianne...80m each.
since dynasty sets were easier to made everyone is selling his s grade making s recs farming not profitable.

only stuff people buy on devianne are ori/fire stones and mats...since i use my mats on crafts i can only sell ori/fire when i have.
recently 200 s80 toons where transfered that are running more bot trains and dont buy a thing.
almost all low lvl toons are alts that wont feed the market with cheap mats.

yes it is that hard to get on devianne these 8 more people online willing to come for 3-4 hours,even on top clans to find an active sws and a cardinal online together is luck!these classes were not needed on partys before hb,so people quit them before the boost nscof made on them.

all raids have cameras and are killed when they spawn for clan points...even if you can make a group and find 1-2 raids their chance of droping something good is close to 0.
im talking about new raids that will give always some reward cheaper or higher and can be made by 1-3 people something like kamaloka type,so everyone who wants to raid can make them.
make 1-2 raids every day and having a good reward like,1 s grade weapon every 3 months,or collect q items to take a ring with special stats would boost the legits.

im 82lvl with 3 subs 1 79lvl buffer and some alts all that on 2 years playing 8+hours every day most of time on pvp clans where xp was not easy.
leveling is hard only on nukers and some support classes after 80.
but gearing is hard since on most servers the old top clans were people grew up together have quit and the ones that rulez are not so legit..............

i doubt having a castle besides giran/aden means making money on most servers, but you need to have a castle to keep the territory wards and keep their skills for oly/pvp.
i've loved territory wars at the begining,but
since 1 clan takes all castles with alts there's no meaning on playing territory ...just killing each other for badges .

if changes can't be made on game that will reward the legit players and boost them exactly as bot/ebay boosts the non yet not banned ones,i prefer to make l2 a free game where people can have multiple accounts without paying,and if they decide to hit top lvls and gear to have the exact fair treatment as any other person on game..
buy on logical prices directly from nscoft.

Sorry, don't understand what your talking about there. Take your last skills?? You get new skills all the way up to 83 I beleive. Aside from that you OE the skills that you do have.

Thought all the big clans on your server were gone? Guess not. To "add" more castles like structures, NC added the Fortresses that smaller clans can take with not much more then 1 party.

Am guessing your playing on a NA server, and don't live in NA? Or play on the European servers, and don't live near there?

There are actually many ways to get your S grade gear and beyond now. Do quests such as Varkas/Ketras. Sure it takes a while, but worth it. You can also go to IOP and sell stone drops, ect ect. There still are many ways to make adena in this game.
Lol, I would also like to go to a movie, and pay if I liked it, or buy a CD and only pay if I liked it. Companies tend to enjoy making money, so I doubt it will happen. :)

They brought in Vitality to help players "Catch up" for those that don't play as often as others. Some actual people "Not Bots" play this game maybe a bit to much. Not all high level chars have botted their way up. People shouldn't get a free ride to the top on a grind game, because others have spent alot more time playing then you. There are plenty of non-grind games out there that you might want to check out if you want to be top level.
I for one know I will never be at top level, possibly not even to 80, but I won't take that away from someone who spends 8+ hours a day playing the game and expecting I should be on a level playing field as them
That last statement? You want people to buy their gear from NC Soft, instead of earning it in game??? Basically you want to make Ebay legit so you don't feel bad about doing it? If your ideas ever become implemented, that will be the day I quit L2

im a european who plays on na server,all servers have worldwide population,people start on a server cause their friends play there,nscf should think of that and adjust hours on everything so everyone can follow.
people suggest a merge would fix the economy of servers providing more people on market,more chances to make partys,i say that merge will only bring more bot trains and low lvl toons would be alts
L2 has a chain that would give players all they need to make on every new update.
since old clans have quit on most servers,and people are making real money from this game selling their toons and gear this chain is broken.
to make money you need new legit players who will buy your old stuff and will sell cheap mats that drop on low lvl areas.
as an example in my server there is no one that sells iron ore!!!!
bots(after crafting their stuff)sell expensive mats making the craft-sell non profitable for players
and the dorfs that craft bsss are only 3,to make shots i need to logoff from xp,see if find a full mp dorf,log back on main toon,after some hours do the same...
reason that there arent dorfs?they dont earn money sitting in giran since no cheap mats exists for people to craft.
and there will be no mass entrance of new players ever again on game,but game can continue keeping the ones that are active and bringing back the ones that have left,along with the few new people.
so my suggestion remains
1-3 people raids/instances with good rewards to help legit players to get in time what non legit took with 1 year of botting. this would ''lower'' the bot attempts also
or
free to play game and donation type services for vitality,jewles with stats,special gear(this also would elliminate the bots)
p.s your iop suggestion to make money was a joke,a bot 24/7 makes 15 fire stones and 6 orichalcum per day,a legit player that xp for 6 hours will get maybe 1 -3 fire stones.

and i have to spend 60m on s cry and 15m on cursed bones.

There is no universal time that works well for everyone worldwide. No matter what time you choose, it will be 3 am somewhere. That is why they made the NA servers and the European servers, so things like seige times happen during a decent time in that area. Because you happen to choose to play on a server where the time is adjusted to a totally different part of the world, you shouldn't blame NC Soft, and ask them to adjust to timings of events to be more adapted to your play schedule.

Like I said before, maybe you need to transfer to a different server. Yours seems messed up. On Bartz, there are always tons of Dwarves crafting shots ect. Here you can also purchase S grade weapons for about 120 mil, so the suggestion of going to a place where you can make 60 mil a week (Here fire stones are selling for about 5 mil a piece so more like 80 mil/week). When I first read your post I thought you were in your low 7X level range, didn't see you were 8X until your last post. That does make a difference. Maybe find a party and go to HB then. Next update they will be adding alot of new leveling areas, and making instances for Bosses like Zaken, which should be able to be done with alot smaller parties. (3 parties instead of 8)
Also if things like Iron are so valuable on your server, you may consider creating a BH, and go out and farm some Iron. I don't know but it sounds like you want everything given to you. Or you want to EBay it with a different name so you feel legit.

If the game starts at lvl 76 then explain this to me. When you make a new toon it doesn't start at lvl 76 . So what game are these fools playing that claim Lineage 2 starts at lvl 76?

Again ill have to disagree,bad hours are main reason in all servers that olys/sieges are halph empty,you suggest all of us should transfer because the company decided to change old days/hours?others in my server dont think so and they made petition about that.

Devianne's is slowly dying the last 2 years,but i didnt know about that when i 've choosed this to create my toons...
and if i have to transfer now as my only solution to a euro server i have the 3 great options
-frantz(server were they bot untill 80+then sell toon on another server)
-luna(bots took control since first week,bot clans with 78lvl toons on first month took castles)
-teon (old server so full of people(and bots)that you pray to find xp spot.
sure i could come at bartz that looks more healty but i would still miss my sleep on sieges/olys/territ/and xp with clannies that log when im saying goodnight all.
maybe fix hours so i can transfer to bartz?

the changes on next update are what i wait to see before quiting too,still 2 major clans are leaving for aion and lots of people keep playing with less accounts since we face the lag problem too.
So find the mighty cardinal/sws ect for hb party ......for months we couldnt even as ally to gather people to kill tiat........

yup...thats it, i want everything given to me.
thats why i stayed these years trying everything i could to continue playing
thats why im writing on this forum instead of doing some trash talking pvp
you wouldnt even know that are servers like devianne that are such a mess
when people are asking about changes dont answer thinking what is going on in your server,learn first what is going on around .
also read the thread about leveling a nuker after 80,then you can see how many hours i have to grind for 1%,add raid camping,time for gathering partys,help some friend to lvl,try to market,then find me more time to play also a bh for iron ore(cheaters just run botgroups for mats when they sleep)
