Server Competition

Another siege weekend has come and gone and once more I have had the privilidge of standing atop a castle wall for 2 hours without seeing one competitor approach the gate. There are no words to express the sheer boredom that ensues during this time. You sit in Vent listening to people prattle on about their sexual prowness and you read pointless innuendos in clan chat. Yesterday, I just unplugged my headset and plugged in my speakers and started washing clothes and cleaning the house. I was listening for someone to say that there were incomming attackers or that a dragon landed on the castle...something...anything really. But no, all I got out of the last siege was a spotless house and some fresh scented clothes.

I play on Sayha. I'm in the RR/IS/PC alliance and we now own, either directly or indirectly every castle on the server with the notable exception of Oren. As of last count, we have over 540 members in our alliance and on any good siege day, we have about 160 members online and ready to fight. We also have, for some reason I can't understand, 5 or 6 other clans that like to lend us a hand during sieges. This extra help causes us to be an unrelenting zerg force that rolls over any and all opposition on the fields in no time at all. We are deathly afraid of losing any power we have achieved and our main mantra for overdominating the server like we have is: "if other clans were in our position, they'd do the same thing".

So why don't smaller clans just ban together and really push us? Usual political reasons, I suppose. Some clans don't like to work with other clans because they've seen them openly bot. Other clans like our main opposition Catalyst were jerks when they were in charge and either they don't want any help for pride reasons or people won't help them because of old grudges. So what happens is that the server sinks to a form of passive aggression and just no longer directly engage us. The point to this strategy is to make us bored to death and make us leave. Hey, it worked well on Nova when they were running things on Sayha. We bored them to death, they left, and then the fighting ensued for a while until the new masters were crowned. Then the mad cycle of "crush, crush, crush" started anew, and the suckage blossomed forth.

I assume this is the pattern on all the servers. One group gets into power and they have no idea how to wield it responsibly. If you want Aden, fine. The top clan should be able to take the biggest castle, and it's allies should be able to help defend it as it's potentially the largest moneymaker on the server. The owners of Aden should then funnel some of that income to it's ally members for their support in maintaining that castle. If any of the allied clans own other castles with the exception of Aden, they should be able to hold their own in fights to defend those castles without having to call in the troops. If this requires side alliances with or payments made to other clans outside of the alliance than so be it, but the idea of allies running to the rescue when your going down the tubes is dull, boring, and used up.

And don't get me started on Territory Wars. I firmly believe that each ward should be reset at the end of the seven signs competition period. It is so very, very, very, very boring to run wards to town. As far as Sayha goes, there is no need to run any wards anymore cause no one that's going to cross us owns a castle. Maybe I'm missing the fun in this, but who the hell wants to win everytime? Who wants to compete if they know they can't lose? For that matter, who wants to compete when they know they have no chance of winning?

We have got to learn how to use power on servers to keep the server healthy and keep the competition ripe. This is a very old game and not that many newbies sign up like they used to. You pretty much have what you have and chances are it won't get any better population-wise (unless we have an unwanted server merge). In another month, my clan would have held it's castle for a full year without losing it once. It was great when it started, but now it's just unending tedium, I don't think I'll make it to the next siege unfortunately not that it matters much anyway.
Its the same story different wording. The main thing imho is that the large clans will QQ if someone goes against them, then zerg them outside of siege times. So in turn you rule by fear. No one dares to question you, no one dares to compete against you, and you sure as hell better believe that small clans aren't going to openly come against you. Even nova now in Phoenix isn't challenged in Aden for that reason.

I'll say it once, and I'll say it again; Clans should not be allowed to have random clans help then defend castles. Could you imagine if just one clan was able to fight for the castle? They'd almost surely loose it, which makes it fun. Like you said what is the fun in always winning?
Kinda sounds to me like the people holding Oren are the ones who have the guts.
bc you recruit the server? and make it dead yeah lol sayha
What OP is describing happens for sure on all servers, the problem is that you QQ about wanting some fun at seiges, when neutral do just that, you cant leave it on the seige fields and just push push push them till they say, screwit...

Its always been like that since day 1, problem is always at the top and it will never change.
But why dont you break your own allinace into factions that would war each other????

You QQ and then give us all those ubber stats about how you dominate server. YET, your not considering the easiest way out of this.... breaking your alliance and warring each other..

I dont get it.... But then again, Top PVP clans are always following same path and it always lands you right at the same spot... QQing about PVPing more.... lol

You guys sound like you have all the PVP possibilities from within own alliance, its just a matter of making that work for you, if what you want is really to PVP more.
Split your uber clan into two clans and fight each other.

Simple.
Any alliance of 540 people and you wonder why the server is dead.... you do realize Sayha at any given time has ~1k people on it. If you have 1/10th of the server population logged in at sieges, of course nobody is going to fight you.

Kick PC and IS and then fight it out. Although... both of those clans are worthless by themselves. 1 nova party would wipe both of those clans entire siege force.

x2 they always get ****** then make the rest of the game hell to the point where sieges aren't worth competing at

Sayha was dominated by a clan with what, 70 active players at one point... Kind of says it all. Also, why do some alliances make some Zerg, and then cry about competition?
One word for you: Devianne. Never had an overdominant side. Competition constant, in TW and sieges. Log in a siege weekend and you'll get an idea.
Also, why do some alliances make some Zerg, and then cry about competition?
Beacuse it's "natural" for people to be afraid to lose.
So let me get this right - your ally controls everything and if a neutral clan tries to take a castle (even if they do not have a chance but want to do it for fun) your ally does not just leave it at the siege field but will do your best to crush them after the siege to run them off the server?
Meh ... so you refused to fight the previous server rullers, pved till they emotrasfered to another server, built up a zerg, dominated the leftovers and are now wondering why on earth it's boring?

Here's a clue, bold part is what's wrong, why do you expect other people to do the work you didn't do when you were in their shoes?

Don't remember Dynasty/Covenant? I believe the NoFear alliance ruled after that, then p00t now it's back to normal I think competition-wise. Back to Covenant.. remember when the entire server went to Aden and sieged their castle? Had to be more than 32 clans attacking vs. 3 and the server won. Amazing times those were though!

Devianne did the alliance break ups to form new competition and it worked. Try it.
So your posting on the official forums asking that your ally stops the boring cycle and bring back some competition? Or trying to brag about the fact you rule a dead server?

I really wish all these zerg allys that complain all the time about the lack of competition would take it into there own hands (they are the kings of the land) and make it happen.

Many things can bring back the competition and make things fun again.

1) Break the ally into 4-5 Factions. And fight for everything again. This may also bring some of the smaller clans back out of the shadows and actively come to the seiges again.

2) Have your heros (Am sure you probably have most of them) shout on certian weeks even to have an open Castle Seige. Sure don't leave the good ones go, but put like Gludin up for grabs. Leave all the Heroes at Aden to help level up the odds, and state up front no clans that sign and fight will have any reprecussions (Even if they manage to take the castle) after the seige is over. Maybe put 2-3 Castles up for open seige, since 400 vs however many show up still is not good odds. You can always go back the following Seige weekend and take them back.

Instead, your ally will probably sit on their wealth. War any clans that are trying to gain power to knock them down before they can possibly rise to fight you. And in the end complain even louder about the lack of competition.

I 'd gladly give Gludin up too PM me, you can siege it FFA :D

juuuuuust kidding
If they have every castle, I am sure they can give up just 1. And its not even giving it away. Its allowing other clans to attack them in that 1 spot and not having to pay for it afterwards.

If they can't do that they shouldn't be complaining about how boring it is. Just my 2A.

fixed for you ;)
Just to address some of the things I've seen here:

I'm not crying about competition. I KNOW why there is no competition. It's because we're doing the exact same thing that all those that have come before us have done. I've brought up my opinions in clan only to find out that I'm in the vast minority on this issue. No one wants to break up a winning team, even to their hurt. I'm just a grunt in the clans and I have no say on what the clan leaders will do. At best, I can only hope that they will release some of the castles, or like some of you have said, leave the sieges on the siege field.

As far as the 540 people, well that's an /allyinfo stat. I have to be fair and say that 30% of that number will be alts or old clanmates that haven't played in a very long time. Still, compared to other clans we almost always have a larger force on the battlefield. And I'm not crying because people are not warring us and waiting for us to leave. It's the logical conclusion in these types of situations. You can break the hold of despots with either direct warfare or indirect non-compliance. They both are very effective ways of ending conflicts. I'm only hoping that some of my clan members, allies, and/or fellow gamers will read this and consider some options on how to make the situation on their servers better.

Now as for Nova and their skills in rolling over servers. It's true that they held Sayha in check for a good period of time but it was never through excellence in gameplay. At their best, Nova was, in my opinion the worst type of players any server can have. They appeared to be a bunch of unscrupulous individuals that tried desperately to weave a cloak of virtue around their activities. Now I can't stress enough that this is just my opinion so please don't take it for fact or an accusation. It's merely an observation and unfortunately not an unbiased one. I will say this though, the days of the Nova One-Party Press was a looooong time ago. If you were to try it now, it may not go like you think.

Seeing as it took RR 2-3 months to kill epics... and 6months to open seed, it would probably still be the same.

Guess we'll never know.
Why not try to take things into your own hands. If you've got a good group of friends it isn't hard to get a clan to level 5. Then you can at least start an alliance, get academy members and start asking other small clans to join up with you. At that point at least you could do sieges, TW's, and Fortresses. Sure its a few weeks time to get it going, a lot of spare sp and coordination, but you'd have your competition back :)
Creating an unstoppable zerg force is a big mistake. No one enjoys fighting against impossible odds.

Another mistake is the punishment of neutrals that show up to fight you at sieges. You war them, you hunt them down, and you do anything you can to break them apart.

If you really want competition, 1. break the alliance apart and stop trying to create an unstoppable zerg force. 2. Stop using fear tactics to crush smaller clans.

I guess you'd have a hard time convincing your leaders of this, but your only other option is to quit the alliance and join the underdogs ;)
WWW ... Bud...

You are one of my very favorite clanmates!

I hear ya, but would ask you to turn on "Hero Bullcrap Channel" and give a listen. Yes, there are some of our esteemed allies making noise but the worst of the worst are the opposing clans. "SoandSo down .. QQ Moar .. BSOE Moar" and the like. No, our allies are not spotless individuals but the opposing side is the one that is taking it off the siege field. Just today we got attacked by non-wartags while raiding only to hear that they took us 55 v. 2 (it was really 2+3 buffers and a Raid boss v. 9). Not so much a victory when you are RED at the end of the encounter.

These 2 (plus the buffers) weren't anywhere to be seen at sieges.

For some reason the opposition didn't even defend their own castles (yes they held 2 before last sieges) . Its not that the server is unbalanced, its that the opposing forces see Hero feeding more important to their griefing lifestyle than holding castles.

I was here when Nova held the server with their [description of their methods that may not be EULA happy] toons and it was much worse for the average non-Nova player. The fact that the opposing clans have most of the heroes tells me that the server is much more balanced than you are giving credit. They even dislodged us from Compression Stone farming last time, not easy I can tell you.

I contend the problem isn't so much with the "dominant ally" than with opposing forces that don't want to play by your rules.
I will say this though, the days of the Nova One-Party Press was a looooong time ago. If you were to try it now, it may not go like you think.

I dont normally post on this forum but .. Who are you kidding, pve content wise Sayha is hugely behind the curve because of that servers incompetence at clearing Tiat. Phoenix has had SoD opened almost immediately it was available to be farmed when the chronicle launched. That instance is farmed by multiple clans working against each other for their own agenda's.

You guys have some s80 floating around in your zerg? awesome! Must be great to be finally allowed to have the privilege of entering and exploring hell bound after Nova left. Even still, you have no idea what it is like to fight people with 300 element weapons, full epics, protection books, wills and full 120 defense x 5 armor wielding Icarus and Vesper yet.

The most casual pickup group of nova would probably give the top picks of your alliance a good stomping just because you are all so far behind and your only competition are people who went into hiding when we were there.
Sayha was dominated by a clan with what, 70 active BOTTERS at one point... Kind of says it all. Also, why do some alliances make some Zerg, and then cry about competition?

Fixed!!!

BTW they went to Phoenix and the BOTTING SCUM dominate there too and are very delusional about their past.
Haha try to take a look at Luna.
Russian zerg completely dominates, noone dares to war them as it would be a complete suicide. They are so cocky that they even use their own heroes on bot to harvest compression stones in SoD. Saw it like a billion times. Heroes actually openly bot on Luna and there is noone to put an end to it, GMs don't give a shait and no clan IG dares to war an overbotted zerg where lowest level is like 81. And to make matters worse, all the other overbotted clans instead of joining forces and declaring wars on the russian zerg, they just joined their side afraid of being crushed. So there you have it, Luna at its best.
I expect the same QQ as is being discussed in this thread on Luna soon too. Those poor things have been standing for 4 hours every siege weekend + TBs for like 2 months now. I wish them happy PvE, and a lot of epics for pappa Yoj so that he can sell them for real money and feed his family.
Even still, you have no idea what it is like to fight people with 300 element weapons, full epics, protection books, wills and full 120 defense x 5 armor wielding Icarus and Vesper yet.

Re-read the OP. His complaint was not that the alliance was full of Novalike bots, it was that there wasn't balance. We agree (The OP and I) that balance is good, your comment is that of someone that believes in EXACTLY WHAT THE OP DECRIES.

Does anyone really want to know what it is like to fight ebay-equipped and botted toons? I know I don't, nor do I wish to have that experience in reverse.

This is true, congrats.. you win Lineage... now go away.

Blah, blah, blah. All I'm hearing is that you have alot of gear....

Pfffttt....big deal.

I never said you guys wouldn't 2 shot quite a few of us. It's kinda hard not to when you have top gear. I mean, if you blindfolded a ******ed kid, put him in a swivel chair, give him a mini-gun, and spun him around in a crowded room, he's bound to rack up a few kills. Nova has always had tons of stuff, but in L2 there is a definite limit to the amount of edge you can get in any one chronicle. Even multiple plusses on weapons will eventually reach a point of diminishing returns. The only chance you'd have with that old one party nonsense was if you got Hero before you attacked. If you didn't, you'd find your nine guys piled in with the rest of the bodies at the end of the charge. You guys are maxed out and if the next chronicle doesn't offer any new upgrades you have no hope of keeping that hardcore title you're so proud of. My advice would be to quit now while you're still ahead and just get by on your memories.

I agree with you here. It does seem that when we're all defending our castles the opposition is busy feeding Hero points. So it's true, they are playing through loopholes the same way we are. Still, it doesn't make it any better in my opinion. I still say we should pick two or three castles and leave it at that. Release the rest of them and let's give the competition a chance to flourish a bit. It doesn't have to be Catalyst or DeathWish, it may be another clan that wants a chance to grow a bit.

Pretty sure I also commented on your pvp prowess being limited by the laughable competition left on your server. Even if you have have the best weapons if you arent skilled at using it you will most likely shoot yourself in the foot.

To put it another way, and to quote a funny internet meme: winning the 100m dash in the special olympics still makes you handicapped.
You do know the only reason why any Nova (excepting Jyrki, ofc) are posting here is because Blah is so dead these days.

But that being said, I find it pretty amazing that any Nova person, as overpowered and as tight of a pvp force that they are, find it absolutely necessary to constantly smash that in the face of those that wilted in the face of them. Not much class. Not much being said about any of them that do that.

You left Sayha for broader pastures, you thought, and found that Phoenix offered the same venue. How odd, don't u think? What do u think is the reason for that?

My guess is that the days of the big, bad clan that overlords and smashes all its opponents is long-gone in L2. The people that are left are there to play a completely different game than the "stars" of Nova. I think you (Nova) need to get used to it.

And I do understand the reason why the opponents are focusing on the Hero competition. It's because even an inferior force with Hero skills can win over their competition in many cases. Hero skills are completely overpowered.
The situation is the same on Aria where Rbots/BregBan "dominate" the server but some Rbots got balls to leave their clan and make a new one and ally with few neutrals clan to fight.

Btw who would compete with cheaters anyway ? cheaters deserve what they have : diying in boredom
Recap: The thread is about a guy who joined a 540man zerg, and he is now wondering why no other alliance fights them. On a low population server...

what happened to UR, TJ, SK and pigs?
Also, why do some alliances make some Zerg, and then cry about competition?

Yep!
This problem is just going to get worse. Didn't another bunch of cowards just transfer to sayha and join RR? All wearing dynasty sets.
what happened to UR, TJ, SK and pigs?

ur going awfully off topic here but w/e
UR - became a dead shell after their clanleaders quit and most of them joined Bregan
TJ - clanleader and more got banned for botting & RMT -> reformed as Rdogs
SK & Pigs left the server when server transfers were made available..

there was almost no opposition left on Kain and the Lionna merger didn't help as those clans weren't strong enough to beat TJ/Rdogs & Bregan combined, the core opposition that did fight them got tired of Bregan using a certain prog of which they have a clanlicense and you prolly do remember how TJ used to fight so no need for further comments so a lot of the opposition also just transfered off from Aria.

we're having fun in our new home though, so much more balanced compared to the bs on Aria
To the OP.

You guys hold all the casltes, you guys hold all the incomming the game can generate, i bet you guys own most of the forts with alt clans too, i bet you guys also recruited every idiot that had no guts to stay in his old small clan and help it to grow... how do you expect to have someone fighting back? There will be no competition.

Maybe if you guys kick half of your members and force them to join the small clans and give up all the other castles except aden, you will give a reason and the oportunity to the other clans to grow up and match your force. Sounds odd but theres no other way to do it.

Maybe you can shatter your ally...

Else the only thing you guys can do is transfer to another server, cause there will be no force strong enough to give you the competition you want.
cause there will be no force strong enough to give you the competition you want.

had to quote this as on some servers the strongest side doesn't really want any competition, look at the provided feedback here sofar.. Bartz/Aria/Sayha/Luna/Teon all are very 1 sided with no real hope of that ever changing until said dominating side quits the game..
Its pretty easy to start up an ally of smaller clans... Just start one yourself. If you're 70+ you "Should" have at least a good friend base that you play with. I'm sure you could convince a few to join you. Recruit small clans, then start doing forts/tws/castles. Sure you wont win at first but you're competing at least then.

Although when the zerg clan finds out they'll probably just zerg the hell out of you and make your ally disban lol
I also have nothing but **** love for the thread poster, but I cant agree with the problem you feel is there, I get the impression its mainly based on who owns castles, and the enemy sucking at sieges. Well said tabbiemae, yes 2hr boring siege is not a matter of balance. In fact at territory war both sides had really good numbers; And general pvp is always around. First siege slot isnt too bad either.

Not only do the enemy prefer to farm oly while we are busy sitting at castles (especially second slot), but may I point out that sieges are also duller thanks to them being on a sunday and ruling out attendance for almost all people who arent in the US (the other two thirds of the planet, euro and asia timezone).

See my sieges on saturdays thread/poll (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=205432)

Also, our alliance does not stomp on neutral clans, this is why Oren is still owned by the neutral clan that has it...
Ok.. Darkrich and WWW - then give up your castles and say on this forum and the 'other forums' that your clan/ally will only take the top three castles and will not interfere with the others being taken over and will leave any attack on a castle as 'just or fun' without your ally crushing them after the siege - then maybe you might see some clans after a few months going after you for some fun PvP. Until then your ally is just crying because you have experienced what it is like to be "on top" without having anyone come after you so you are bored and post up here looking for some pvp fun and looking for people to feel sorry for you.

Just saying...
Wow theres too much I would like to reply to lol

Those bagging out about zerg and such, split up or whatever, you dont know what you are talking about. We've fought to keep the server in nicer hands and have broke the history of clans/allies like SP, PR, Catalyst (previously on erica/seighardt) controlling with iron fist. We formed together as an alliance (PC/IS/RR) after RR split and certain people left RR and formed Vengeance. At the time we had no idea who would come out on top.

I agree with you here. It does seem that when we're all defending our castles the opposition is busy feeding Hero points. So it's true, they are playing through loopholes the same way we are. Release the rest of them and let's give the competition a chance to flourish a bit. It doesn't have to be Catalyst or DeathWish, it may be another clan that wants a chance to grow a bit.

Hmmm dont take this as concrete but we are pretty much open to that now; If we simply 'release' a castle then the enemy gets it, we dont have it on alts for income only as part of the fight with the enemy (except perhaps giran or goddard). If a genuine neutral or friendly good clan wants a castle, then thats better than it being on an alt clan, and castles such as Dion, Gludio, Innadril, Oren we have no problem being in non-hostile or friendly hands.

This problem is just going to get worse. Didn't another bunch of cowards just transfer to sayha and join RR? All wearing dynasty sets.

Last I knew of transfer to sayha was Shadows of Aden from bartz, and they are on enemy side now along with Catalyst, Dragon Advocates and Deathwish.
Does it ever end, I need to get on with work lol :p

1. We arent crying we are perfectly happy

2. We have plenty of people coming after us

3. We arent going to 'give' castles to enemy thats just dumb and even more boring
I'll just add, I cant say one way or the other but if a genuine neutral or friendly clan thats pretty good wants to try for such castles but not risk possible action afterwards, chat with us about it first, we are nice people. Otherwise if you just attack it un-announced its all to easy to give the impression you are helping the enemy.

I'm sorry but this is just dumb.... You're pretty much saying "Heyyyyy make sure you guys ask us if its ok to siege against m'kay." Thats lame, you just proved yourself that you guys will zerg an opposing clans who would even want to try to take the castles. Why should anyone have to make sure its ok with you guys to siege a castle. That takes away all meaning of even trying to do it...

They tell you they're going to do it, you load up your 540 man zerg squad at that castle they're going for and you crush them. Wow GF. That's just like yelling charge before you advance your army :p
Must be one very insecure alliance if you needed to reach those numbers to feel like you could compete.
lol sayha lol
for those on Sayha in case your not aware the average server population is atm around 800ppl so gratz you allied over 50% of the server..
Your from Sayha, Smittie is from Phoenix. By Default, he is much higher up in the food chain!
Actually, Smittie is from Gustin. So he is not that much higher...

I think they called themselves WhiteOrders. Anyway, WWW got it right when he said
People love to join with the clans they feel they can get the most out of

And most people like to feel superior so they join the top clan instead of trying to compete.
Ahhhhhhhhh "smithereens" for a swedish guy (?) your vocabulary and diction is outstanding :)

You must also have studied the English slang :P

Haha.

WamWuzzle. Split the clan and build a third side or carry on till you dry up.

Have you even read the Original Post??? The original post was exactly about those first 2 points. People were giving ideas about giving castles ect as a means to stop the crying, and to finally have someone come after you.

Also, if you know the enemy is going to hit the Oly, and not attack you at the seiges, wouldn't it be a good idea to take even a portion of the zerg and put them in the Oly at the same time???

Those bagging out about zerg and such, split up or whatever, you dont know what you are talking about. We've fought to keep the server in nicer hands and have broke the history of clans/allies like SP, PR, Catalyst (previously on erica/seighardt) controlling with iron fist. We formed together as an alliance (PC/IS/RR) after RR split and certain people left RR and formed Vengeance. At the time we had no idea who would come out on top.

No that is a zerg... a huge zerg of noobs, but still a zerg. I remember having races in Nova to be the first party at Schuttgart to take out your entire clan. Then sit in spawn room and kill your force over and over again.

Last I knew of transfer to sayha was Shadows of Aden from bartz, and they are on enemy side now along with Catalyst, Dragon Advocates and Deathwish.

All those clans are horrible... especially Deathwish.

Cause nothing says "elite" like port camping in a throne room and killing people before they fully materialize on a screen .

Not my fault if your computer sucks. The server doesn't care if you are in blackscreen, and I see you on my screen.
The funniest part is the glee you experience doing that. I guess I will never understand it. But, for sure, I hope you get all that out in the virtual world and it doesn't trail into the real world.

Okay everyone, I crossed a line with my response to this guy the last time so to make sure I don't do the same again...I'll keep my answer simple:

Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftttt!!

Since there was some moderation of this thread... I am only going to assume that this post was in reference to enjoying spawn camping the throne room. Rest assured I know the difference between a game and reality, and the online personification of myself compared to the real me; unlike quite a few people on this forum.

lulz... I don't play L2 to kill mobs... I play L2 to cause drama. Thanks for playing.

Drama is for suburban teenage girls. Real gamers don't port camp. Real gamers play with honor.

But this gotten waaaay off topic. I just want to get my alliance to back off of owning everything on my server. Darkrich is a great clan leader that believes in playing fair and straight with everyone. Tabbimae is one of the most helpful people on Sayha, it's just that we don't see exactly eye to eye on this particular issue. I don't think that it's reasonable for us to dictate who should own castles, it's more reasonable for any alliance to choose the castles they want and take those. It's better to establish a dominance on one area but allow the other areas to know their place. At best we should only have Aden, Giran, and either Goddard or Rune.
youll never teach the concept of socialism to a bunch of capitalists lol....

(and btw im not trying to put politics in but just giving an example of why the ones on top stay on top till theyre bored and move on )
Drama is for suburban teenage girls. Real gamers don't port camp. Real gamers play with honor.

The L2 game mechanics are built to induce drama....

Limited hunting spots
Territory Wars
Olympiads
Castles
Fortresses
Seven Signs
pvp/pk system
Level disparity
Epic bosses

I am not sure how you can fail to see that...
in other words ur admiting ur a suburban teenage girl? O.o
in other words ur admiting ur a suburban teenage girl? O.o

Only if free gear is involved.
Let other clans farm epics for a while and let them get their stats up a bit and don't CP spam @ Siege and you will have want you want, A WAR !!

Why would any legit player out there bother fighting someone that is seriously OP ?
Not to mention the moment you get someoene's CP down a bit the POTS kick in.
A waste of time if you ask me, might as well stay neutral and be a PVE clan.

And that's exactly what's happening.
Real gamers play with honor.

I loled

only a little, so dont think you can do stand up now.
Apparently making a 540 person alliance, is considered doing it with Honor.
Wow you dominate that much and wonder why you have no 'action'? You're wasting your time here. It's your clan/alliance you should be talking to, not a bunch of people on official.
Being in power and having almost complete control means you have a responsibility to keep your server healthy. If you don't, you get bored. If your leaders can't understand that (even after seeing it first hand) they either don't want to enjoy the game, or just want to pve.
Fact: if you choke something for long enough, it dies (Oh seriously? Wow...). Give your server time to breathe again. Leave the epic raids up uncontested for a few months. Let people get into the Seed. Don't police HB. Let a few hero slots go for a few months. Etc.. However keep wars up, just don't act on them.

Sooner or later one of your ally members is going to get rolled hard, then the fun will start again... Or... The people who get the epics you leave alone for a while will just use them to cash out and leave the game. It's a risk, but you're not getting anywhere anyway so might as well.
It's seems like you know what needs to be done but like I said, you're talking to the wrong people.

If you insist of feeding off this rotting corpse, you really need to go beyond the call of duty to keep the rest of the maggots fed. Lol-L2...

I didn't make or join a 540 person alliance, it became a 540 person alliance during the course of a year. 540 people is too many in one alliance for our type of server. And since it has become too large, I feel like it's time to change our type of gameplay to either reel in our presence considerably or break up to create a healthier server environment. I have always been against overdominating a server, and I won't be hypocritical about it now.

Also, playing with honor means I don't gank, I give you time to see me before I attack. I don't port camp. I don't spam CP potions, I don't bot, I don't buy adena, I've never used any exploit, and I never, ever, under any circumstances BSOE from wartags. Can you say the same?
In TW and Sieges, I use as many cp pots as I can go through, when getting attacked. You saying I have no honor?

And also, split up your zerg if you want to have a fun server.

Yup yeah ain't being honorable; shouldn't use what they don't have!
heheheheeee *passes Spiced Pumpkin CP Pots :D

Why aren't you bringing this up to your alliance on their forums? I would probably guess because you are a non-factor in the alliance, and would simply get laughed at.

Your sense of honor is a bit skewed... seriously who doesn't use CP pots in pvp? I would kick you from clan for that. Who doesn't gank? Its 1/2 the fun in this game, and a challenge to try and catch someone before they see you/bsoe/force log. The rest of the list I'd have to agree with.

Pretty much the comments made by WamWamWuzzle through the course of the thread sum up that he is a nonfactor in a zerg of an ally. He doesnt know how to pvp and disagrees with conflict-content aspects of L2 created by the devs. About the only thing he has done in his l2 career was make a cry thread on the official boards (lol) about not finding enough people to pvp to challenge his Velcro strip of an alliance.

Oh well I guess people dont like being reminded they were once food for the real powers that ruled their server, or the fact that those rulers got tired of how foul the pathetic lameness of that server tasted and transferred off (much to ncsofts chagrin $$$).

I brought this up on my clan forum, in clan chat in game, and here. While there are no non-factors in my clan (and we are all welcomed to express our opinions within the clan), I respect the chain of command and it isn't my place to go to our allies with this kind of proposal.

Okay, maybe I should rephrase. I use CP potions only on siege fields, never in open field combat. And like I said, I don't gank at all. I may lose more fights because I don't, but keeping it fair is important to me. If you're forcelogging, you're breaking the EULA and should be banned.

On a side note... I just found out that some top players in our ally were banned yesterday. A big thank you to the GM's for weeding out unlawful players. Here's to your continued success!!

Was it "the pathetic lameness of that server" they transferred to?
Or was it "the pathetic lameness of that server" they created by their actions?

Cute...

After reading this pathetic eulogy for a broken dynasty long since departed, I went and found you guys a present:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NqBWLeP9f4

Why don't you get all your Nova colleagues in a circle, cry on each other's shoulder and enjoy it, with compliments from Sayha...

Then... i'm sorry... but you will never be accepted by LOLNovass.

All the above are prereqs!
OH MY GAWD...

BS! Really... a blind jump to BS???????

WWW, I'm very very cross with you now.

If we were in a circle we wouldn't be crying on each others shoulders!

(in before delete)

A broken dynasty? Please... Sayha did nothing to stop Nova from dominating... RR and First crumbled in the first month. At least Phoenix last 4 months before crumbling into dust.
So, what u are saying is that Nova has won the L2 dominance game... on NA servers, ofc. Right? You beat everyone into the dirt, keep transfering until you find worthy competitors? Does this mean a Teon run is in the cards?

It seemed like it really fit well with all of this Nova-stalgia that some posters in this thread are lost in..

I'm sure they would love something to do.

They're busy getting DT unbanned I would assume.
