Its hard to quit this game, ive been playing since C2, its not like a warcraft BS copy cat mmo, Lineage for me was and is the best mmo out there.
even with the game mechanics that are lacking, the cheating thats created inbalance, the die hard legit players doing what they can, this game has a struggle to it that has made it worth playing.
To me I wanted a good clan. I had it, I lost it 2 years ago. Without new players coming in the game its been to difficult to even attempt to get it back
the cheating in the ensures i would never be able to achieve the goals I wanted to acheive. The economy is slowly vanishing every update. And the player base is getting
smaller and smaller.
I can understand why players who are established stay with the title.
to be honest, i got tired of being passed up by botters, and seeing S-80 + on entire ebayed clans.
so im cutting my lossess and waiting for either all points bulletin or Old Republic online to come out.

Yes this is very frustrating. Pretty much I feel like this every day and have to remind myself every day that I really don't need to compete with these people. And sometimes I can convince myself I don't care; but usually it still bothers me.
In the end you just have to choose to play for yourself or the few people you care about in game, setting your own goals and choosing your battles wisely. I play to forget the stress and grind of real life, so I'd rather do my own thing at my own pace as I play this game to relax now, not to pwn people for moar ******.

yes its true, and thats what makes this game great, not the content, but the players
and friends we've made. most of them how ever have moved on for me. so theirs little left, but to visit the forums and look at what everyone is talking about.

Lineage2 is a good game. For someone who's never played an MMO it can be fun, but you are right there is to much of an imbalance of power on the servers, the GM's do nothing to stop botting, and people are buying gear to make themselves stronger and better.

Im sorry. "Aion, we're like wow, only worse". See i knew that focus in marketing would pay off one day.
The Sieges in Aion are pretty amazing, to say anything different about that aspect of that game isnt giving the title a fair deal.
I quit playing it after i realized its running into the same problem Lineage II is. The botting and the kinah (adena in aion) sales are out of control therm and i learned my lesson in L2, dont get attached to a game that is out to screw you.
Seems like you are projecting your own personal hangups onto the game just a little too much, bub. Your gear and adena envy are preventing you from enjoying your time spent logged in. There will always be cheaters. Always. Also, if you think the GM's don't ban the bots then you are being naive. Take a look at any of the dozen or so botting forums out there and see all the threads about people getting trains taken apart.
When was the last time you just logged in, sucked up a few of the newbie buffs...found a nice spot and killed some monsters? Stop worrying about what everyone else has and start playing the game!
It literally took me 5 minutes to find a clan with my alt sws. 2 hours later I was in a fortress siege, running out the main baddie. (all on the supposedly dead and dying Aria)

I hear you RedRock. Been playing L2 since C2 also. Loved it! Actually I think this game has the greatest potential out of many others, but unfortunately how the game is run and supported seems to be its greatest downfall. But lets not bring out details that everyone really already knows.
The reason I ended up quitting is because the people I enjoyed playing with quit for the various reasons that are known by everyone that plays L2.
I think it is too bad when long term members of the community leave, because honestly it can cause ripple effects that make many other people drop out of game.
And also, who are we fooling when we say "Don't care about what other people have?" This is a competitive MMO and to pretend to brush off our frustrations against players that cheat within the game to gain advantage is just a way for us to justify our reasons to continue playing something we have already spent so much time playing.

Its true, Lineage 2 is the ONLY open PvP mmo thats worth a ****. and its a shame koreans cant understand the concept of an ad campeign. just hire a Mr. T and an Ozzy ozbourne and have them say they play , and bring their international coca cola deal to america. Do something about the loss instead of trying to cater to....who are they trying to cater to? What i mean to say is they need to get some fresh players in by releasing a comercial, people dont care that its a 6 year old game, they dont even know it exists atm.
To me the game was,
1. play your charecter
2. build of become part of a clan
3. seige a castle
4. kill the dragon
in between participate in wars, explore, and make friends
even though i didnt mind the grind, having it be the only way to make xp did kill the
excitement after three years of it. yes their are raids , and they finally made dailies.
but easier xp wasnt what we needed/ we needed different ways to earn it.
an updated quest overhaul could have been a game changer for this title.

2 years ago, this game had more of a power balance on most servers.
their was more of a struggle and a rise against the other clans feel to the
game then the inability your clan has shown.
Your lack of leadership and strength apparently has ruined this game for
more then just you. If you should feel sick, maybe reflect on your own performance
rather then someone elses.
Naming that one empire however,
persians vs the greeks,
any of feudal japanese history,
World war II their had been an balance of power, struggling
England France and Spain had a as well had their own power struggle in the
middle ages.
Geats vs Franks is a good example
well, any Anglo Saxon vs Anglo Saxon group.
so on so forth.
Most of any empire really had a power struggle with another nation similarily matched, throughout the history of mankind. Hence the game Age of Empires became a success.
(bet you can guess what their hard sell point for their title was, if not; ask an adult)

but the beauty of L2 is the players CAN make a difference, if they care to learn from history and take it into their own hands to change things. Because as we all know, most everyone wants to bandwagon to the strongest side and then doesn't want to leave the top, even if it really sucks there, which is the one-sided endpoint of all L2 servers, due to human nature. Unfortunately it's usually too difficult to restrain from not bandwagonning and not crushing your enemies into giving up in this game...
