Been talk about this being the last update for l2, my two adenas:
lets see, there isn't enough players left for them to justify the expense of paying programmers to design new hunting areas, instead they cut costs buy rehashing old noob hunting grounds.
Also if they were shutting it down, NCSOFT wouldn't even know, its the Korean head office who handles all the big decisions and they seldom keep the American office informed, that much they made perfectly clear with how little they seem to know about whats going on with the game they are suppose to be running lol. And when I say big decisions and mean everything aside from there employees deciding what to pack for lunch that day is handled by them.
Personally id rather this be the last update for a while so they can divert their expenses to giving us a quality website instead of delivering another "no content" update and raising the max level, id rather them take the time to read the suggestions forum we post in.

Your 2 adenas are lol and you can keep them.
There are enough players on the Korean servers, and if on the American servers would ever be too few they would simply merge some servers, so they could cut off some expenses. And no i don't think we want less updates just so they can give us a quality web site.. they should do that anyway if they are interested in advertising their game and keeping the costumers happy.

they arent expecting new players if they are starting to recycle the mobs into end game mobs. this game will stay in lorea as a hit, however they just dont do the things they need to do to keep it running in north america, and the direction they are heading, I dont think its going to offer anyone any kind of new game experience.
It was a great title in its hayday, but i think its time they started to work on lineage 3.
Redrock and Acrolace you made both topics about quitting and how hard the game is, my question is what are you still doing here? You feel the need to let everyone know how you don't have anything better to do?
The people still playing this game love it. Stop starting this kind of rumors.
There is 5M players ~ in Lineage (guess both 1 and 2 ) and Lineage2 is one third of NC softs income.
So yea alot of people play this game, and as long as they are that many people in the rest of the world we will get updates.
So please for the love of all things stop talking about the end of Lineage.
If you dont like the game and all you can do is complain and focus on negative things go somewere else.
In Korea and other countries there is a MASSIVE L2 player base that makes the Lineage series quite profitable for NCSoft. The world does not revolve around the US and Western Europe, neither does Lineage2.
Here in North America we are very fortunate to piggyback off the Korean Lineage2 popularity. The income to NCSoft overseas pays for the development and expansion of L2, they could never give us the game we have off of the NA player revenues. While some people whine (inappropriately, IMHO) that the game is designed more for Asian players, that is perfectly logical since by far most of the L2 players are from Asia, it would be silly to design a game for 'Western' players when most of your customers are Asian.
Overall Lineage2 is a very healthy and profitable franchise for NCSoft. Our individual monthly fees are trivial. I probably play at least 100 hours a month which comes down to about ten cents or so an hour. I challenge you to find any other social activity that is anywhere nearly as fun for ten cents an hour. You certainly cannot go for a drive, or drinking, or dinner, or a movie for that. Try taking a sweet young lady out for an evening's date and spending fifty cents on her. We have a GREAT value in our L2 game and we are lucky to have it bacause of the Korean revenues.
If I see you ingame I'll also give you your two adena back. Heck, Ill even give you 923 adena!
u will can sure that EU/NA servers are long live this money what we pay at every month can keep up the all server for very long time. About 1-2 thousand subscriptioner pay enough that we will have every month 8-10 servers. I think now the subscriptioners's number in EU/NA about 45-50k.
Anyway the NCsoft can choose the item shop option too for this region, example who play the monthly payment for them game can play with double xp and another persons can play free for normal xp. Lets check the russian official servers. In last years december it is opened they earned in 2 days 100thousand players started with 6 servers and now they have 10 servers and about 200-250k players, the servers are almost full or full all time.
NCsoft opened its Lineage 2 server in Indonesia in this year little later they made another server too to Indonesia and how i know Vietnam got too official servers.
I hope somebody from NCsoft too read what i write now:
In my country about 15 or 20 times more (maybe 50 time more too) players play on free servers like than at here on official servers. The most bigger reason the payment. Much peoples havent enough money that pay every month this 13 euro that they can play. But maybe if this price can go down to 7 or 5 euro example i think more much ppls change the official server cuz this money are ok for them. I heard that same the reasons in much countries of East Europe and from this region play the most much peoples Lineage 2 in Europe. So Dear NCsoft u can keep and grow up too the population of Lineage 2 in this region too, but i think now has come the time when u need change here some market politics at this region.
I think it was a good call of the developers to refashion some of the lower and almost completely unused areas to high level.
Yes it saves the artists some work (therefore time and cost), but this has meant rather than 1 or possibly 2 new areas, how many do we get, like 6 or 7 new places to hunt..? Thats awesome.
1. Dont need as many low level areas as we have, people breeze through often doing newbie quests or whatever else. The game has changed so people dont spend long at low level anymore. Therefore it was literally just a waste to have so many low level areas.
2. By reusing resources means that we can have more new (or refashioned whatever you wanna call it, new places to grind) hunting areas in this chronicle for high level players, as this is where most of the time is spent levelling wise.
Its in no way an indicator that they are being lazy. They are being smart, and its to our benefit.
yes yes i thinked for the accounts. But in this situation not important if 1 person pay after for 50k accounts or 50k peoples pay after 50k accounts. Money is Money. If u want check the WoW or AION at them currently i think about 40% of accounts are the farmer teams accounts and not personal accounts and u have to count down from these too that there are more persons who have mucher accounts. Now we are luckier cuz at this time maybe on Lineage 2 servers are the most fewer farmer bots if we see the another mmorpgs's servers. If in another games too control the cheaters and farmers same strong hands too, than their situation can be same with Lineage 2 too.

I agree on the above. I also hope they wil fix certain terrain glitches that those desolated newby areas have been camping with over the years. And indeed when a game has been around for as long as LII's been running, it's logic enough that certain game aspects get 'recycled' as over the years their usefulness has become nihill due to the other in game mechanics changes.
Just like with any other successful franchise merchandise, they evolve over the years as they continue to exist.
People are gonna kill the mobs either way for the XP so why does anyone really care if it looks like a mob in another part of the game you probably haven't seen over 75 levels. Either way the graphics in L2 are still wonderful even if the mob is the same as the lower level one.
Yes was great idea reactive the old places to new places at usually players has the places where they xping from 20 to 40 necropolis of sacrifice, dion hills, catacomb of heretics, the ant nest. So at firstly the old areas. And anyway if the development team just make and make the newest and newest place for characters will too big the area and than will hard find enemies at firstly the servers where are fewer the population like than at us atm. Anyway we play in this time about the 40% of planed Lineage 2 area. I saw the full map and it was so big. Example for me very intresting in wich expansion we will can go through the Forbiddian Gateway. Because in anytime in the future it will open. I think this is one of the thing from story what i wait the most mucher:)
in fact it's the best mini aoe spot in its level range.
golems in archaic laboratory could be good but those debuffs make it unusable (mb it's designed for mages... but mages are much better off in VoS/FoD).
they should have kept the upper level or two and the rest would be made 80+.

K, much love, but I disagree with your post 100%. That's just *my* two adenas. ;)
