Yes! If you have any friends that used to play the game and let their accounts go inactive, they can log back in for free right now and play once again. They won't need to do anything at all, they'll just be able to log in.

(This does not apply to banned accounts of course)

My friend wasn't banned or anyhting, just stopped paying for it around when gracia was released. But he's unable to log in as it still says he ran out of playing time

Once again, as always, with good luck comes bad luck with me. Install L2 the same day my account gets activated for free for two weeks, just to find out I can't play for a week because I want to reroll and I don't have any character slots.

I'm taking a look at the accounts that were private messaged to me now.

Please keep a few things in mind:


Accounts must be retail accounts, not trial accounts
They must have gone inactive before ~11/16. I realize some of you may have missed the mark by about 1 or 2 days but this reactivation is really focused on players who have not played the game in some time so I'm afraid this is just on the unlucky side.
The account must not have been banned.

That being said, I'm still going through my PMs and will respond to you all as soon as possible.

My Buffer account was inactive before the update but it isnt active :(, Character name is Rese. Dunno why its not active Oo

I think I have discovered what is going on:

Your accounts will still be showing as inactive on the plaync website. If you logged into the account website to check the status of your account, you probably saw that it was still inactive.

Please go ahead and log into the game with that account. Most of the accounts that people have inquired about have been reactivated properly but they were just listed as inactive on your account management page.

If you do not have the game installed, please log into the forums with the account. If you are able to post and PM with your account, then that is a sign that it has been activated already and you are ready to hop into the game!

For those of you who are still unable to log in with specific accounts that should meet the criteria (I've only seen one so far) please have a support ticket opened and you can also PM me as well with a character name and server so I can see what might be going on.

**Update**

We have discovered why a few accounts did not get turned on during our reactivation period. We need to take a few steps in order to address this issue and get these accounts turned on so please bear with us while we work on resolving this matter.

We will have more information for you in the coming days so please stay tuned for another announcement from me about when these accounts will get turned on to join the rest.

What timing! Just finished my new computer build. Had to quit playing L2 because my old system just couldn't handle the graphics and bad fps rate, so we'll see how well a 1gig video card works with it.

I have two game accounts on the same master account, and only one of those got reactivated.
One had been inactive for just a few weeks and got activated, the other one had been inactive for 90+ days and did NOT get activated.

I find it funny my accounts went inactive yesterday and I had to pay to keep them playable why don't they make it nice for there CURRENT customers instead of only people that haven't touched the game in a while giving them free time. Something trivial and all but seriously go to all "Accounts in good standing" and extend the paid playtime till atleast the end of the event. That is what makes sense.

Another dumb move on NCsofts part. How many people do you think are going to reactivate when they still see bot trains killing at will, un-punished? You do realize a lot of these people quit because of the bot problem?

I've all but retired from the game, but I suppose I could clean out some of the warehouses on all of my other accounts that were already deactivated when I left the last time. If you happen to play on Devianne, look for drops in random areas. Merry Christmas!!!

Hmm, this is weird. I can log on to the boards with this account but i can't log into game o.O . Claims the account information is wrong... Even after changing password and waiting a while (even though i am 100% sure my original password was typed right as well).

Nice touch with the account reactivation and announcing it on twitter. Caught the announcement last Tuesday but didn't have time to login.

It was nice to see buffs all the way to 75 and the mail system wasn't bad. Any other critique that I would give would come across as a whine and, well, I'm no longer emotionally invested in this game, so I'll forego that part of it.

I will say this: if you can find a way to repackage L2, ditch the 7 Signs thing, enhance some of the mechanics, but keep the aesthetics of the game, I'd come back indefinitely. I never liked WOW, and having played Aion for a minute, I'm not overly impressed with the looks or feel of that game, either. I still believe there is a niche for L2 that can be tapped, if you make the improvements. It's an old game now, and maybe it's time to reboot, so to speak.

At any rate, my accounts will be deactivated after the event. Thanks for letting me drop by to see how the world has changed. Good luck to all of you who continue to play this game. Long Live Lineage II!!!

Well, this free reactivation did not go smoothly for me either. When first I tried to log in, it didn't work. I mailed support for help (from my account page) and they first replied that I had to prove it was my account....I did this...then next reply was that my account subscription had expired and that was why it was not playable, so I replied that I just wanted to take advantage of the free reactivation but since I can't...thanks for nothing. Support replied to this with: Glad your problem is resolved; let us know if we can help with anything else. I posted a comment on this on another fan site and someone suggested trying to log in again (had already deleted client after what I got from support so re-installed client again); LOL it worked! but no thanks to NCSOFT support.. Anyway, didn't get much time to play with all my old characters....don't see myself coming back either but was kind of fun to see the game again after all these years. Bye.
