Just curious, how many people were able to get through the 4th Part of the Epic Quest were you need to run through a Dungeon with Guards? On Phoenix, people are mad as hell, a lot of tried for over 3 hours and could not get through. And yes, people practiced, but still, sometimes the Guards inside seems to be bugged or have eyes on the backside of their head.
Yes i read this, also watched the movie. I made this poll, cause its not only me who cant get through there, a lot of people on Phoenix dont and are getting very mad.

On my 1st alt I couldn't even get in, huge amount of people waiting at Gludio and all instances full :(

Nah, seriously, jokes aside, it is doable. Took me 40 minutes and a couple restarts from the 2nd save spot, but it is doable. Just watch the guards for a while to see the pattern.
I tried it on PTS and took me almsot an hour. The guards got me 11+ times and the part where the priests were was the worst.
Worst thing for me was that last round room right before the library. Took me like 15 tries to get past the first 3 mobs, and the sucky thing is that then you get ported back to the 2nd save spot which is another room further back... >.<
Just watch this, see where he waits, watch the line of sight for the guards he sometimes shows. Female guards can see you from a longer distance than the male ones when you are not in stealth, male ones can see through stealth but only have a short range.
Whoever decided that this part of the quest would be fun should be taken out behind sears and beaten severely. The fun factor on this disaster is zero.

yeah i done it on PTS and it took me the whole hour basically.... guess NC korea didn't design the thing for players who have 500+ ping at all times and i am sure as hell not looking forward to doing it on all my toons ><
its nice to see such a kind of quest in l2... it really makes it feel like rpg... sneak into the library!!! and i like it that it is so hard... i am stuck somewere in the middle of the run... wish me luck!!!
is it possible to buff myself with the Helmet (Recent Event) which gives you berserk spirit while in transform state? Same goes for buff portions. Thanks.
If male guards are your problem just let it catch u one time and watch the blow up circle around him! Now you know his range!! except of some parts that involve timing u can do it with some fails but still make it up!! guard are practicly blind just use the stealth skill when ladies are around!! BTW all this hiding for just a freaking book?????????????

Actually it should not be easy!!! it is after all a quest that gives u 30% exp in 79/80 lvl!!! and an s thingy that increases weight and 1,5mil aa (1 to 10 the ratio of aa to adena in my server)
You are suppossed to put your back to it, not just speak with 2 npcs an poooffff quest done!
After all its the first quest that actually gives a lot of exp and can be done only by hand and not afkers since it doesnt involve some grinding of mobs or finding specific mats!
If you dont visit sites or youtube for videos it will take you quite some time to figure out part 4 at least, but its up to u to choose and if you choose to find yourself then a respect from me cause i found through videos!!

yesterday got disconnected and kicked out, today cant go on easily with their lags...
i wish they just put more "checkpoints", i'm really tired to redo the same thing for 2000 times because lag makes me stop in the middle of the room ><
Took me 2 tries and finished it right at the 1 minute warning on the 2nd try.
Frustrating as all get out, but if that isn't fun we are playing the wrong type of game.
I'll finish the rest of the series later today, but I went to bed last night with the victory still fresh in my mind. Ahh.. the sleep of the victorious....
the epic quest is ridiculously easy. It took me 1.5 hours for all seven parts. The stealth part is the only hard part of all seven quests. white guards see through stealth, red ones cannot. with stealth on, you can stand on top of the red guards. hug the walls as much as possible and run behind the white ones as they start to move away from you.
The white guards move in predictable patterns. you may have to be patient and watch their movements to see the pattern for moving through them.
As for buffs, you lose them going in and everyone has identical run speed regardless of gear while in the transformation. I did not try the zerk buff helm, but I doubt it would work there.
btw for some of those pairs of male guards, they seem to shift their patterns ever so slowly (one moves slightly faster than the other) so at times it was almost impossible to pass them, but after waiting a while they became easier

Zerk definitely gives you more run speed when doing this quest but it only lasts 20 minutes and when i did it on pts it took me about way longer than 20 minutes lol

took me 2 hours to figure it out the first time, no vidoes watched nothing - just good old observation. I then did it two more times and got it on the first try on both parts.
did it twice with 200 lag in 2 tries.. first time it was easier for some reason (within first days of epilogue), as guards walked more predictably. so I had to be caught on purpose to change the way guards move. but now their moments seem to be more random and you get caught even without making mistakes.
I got thru on my 4th try after getting nailed very early on as I figured out the AI. That video posted above is interesting, but it is not the "only path". I definitely had a few diff turns in there.
I don't see why people are getting so mad when it takes a while. Even if it takes you an hour or TWO, if you're doing it at level 80+, odds are you couldn't earn that same % of exp in that amount of time by killing mobs. The only people I feel sorry for are those with horrible lag/pings cuz that stage is pretty much impossible for them.
I read Ellie's quest guide and watched the YouTube a LOT, that made the difference. Pay attention to details, exactly where to stand and where the guards step when you run to the next spot.
My first time in I was learning the system and didn't finish. My second time in I got down to the last two guards three times, but ran out of time. Things which seemed impossible the first time became easy the second time. My third time in I finished it, 10 min tops.
As an aside, there is one inaccuracy in the guide. It says you get to restart part way down after you reach a certain point in the maze. There are (thank God) two restart points, so after you get about 2/3 of the way through you restart about the 2/3 way point, not the 1/3 way point, which helps a lot.
It is a very good quest with generous rewards. Thumbs up.
... As an aside, there is one inaccuracy in the guide. It says you get to restart part way down after you reach a certain point in the maze. There are (thank God) two restart points, so after you get about 2/3 of the way through you restart about the 2/3 way point, not the 1/3 way point, which helps a lot.

my problem is getting past the room where you meet Franz,
its the last part.
im on my shielen saint, i buff in the room and switch to inquisator.
but 3 mobs come at me & theres no way I can handle them.
with bless the body my SS has about 4400 hp
and gets taken out fast.

Not sure if it is worth it, but I'd suggest to get Oel Mahum transform and use UD, then return to your own state - ud will still last for some seconds, and it should be enough to nuke the biggest mob - tada, finish.

I used a nuke augment.
If you cannot afford one, you can try rooting the addons, and then sigma and melee the main mob.
It took me 4 days to pass that part and I failed like 20 times in the PTS.
Ellybellie and videos in youtube helped me out a LOT. You need to be patient.
But once you do it once, it is easy. My SE hit 79 and I was able to pass the quest for her and did not struggle as much as I did on my other account.
