Just stay clear of me and you should be fine on PHX.
Due to current infractions I cannot tell you how I really feel about your kind.
Smittie has again one of these days. Chill ;)
To OP: welcome to retail ! I hope you will have fun. I share your story and I am not sorry I came to play here. Also I would never go back to the private servers :p Just don't expect to meet many players in the low level areas and find yourself a clan academy. If you want to pass fast over first levels choose to xp in the areas surrounding Kamael Village (Stronghold I,II,III and the Dungeon).
Cya around.

Ignore skinfaxys ignorance.
Just do what the newbie guide tells you to do, and make sure you pick kamael village's newbie guide.
Skin wasn't ignorant and told you the old way to lvl. The other way is to do the adventure guide quests at your respective starter town. Fastest way to 20 would be to do a few at kamael village 1st till they send you to your village. Then finish those up and a class change and you'll be 20.
Dion is where you'll see alot of activity as a low lvl. So head there after ya hit 20, and you'll run into good people.
From 20-50 probably the most entertaining way is to kill raid bosses incl Kamaloka - which allows once daily to kill a "personal" raid boss (but you stuill need a party of 2-3 to enter and kill it).
For your information there are ways to level even faster then those quests that send you to look for bla bla. You can be 20 in 30 min or faster near Kamael Village and also vitality doesnt get consumed until after level 10.
The only ignorant here is you Smittie with your cleaver tho boring "not helping anyone" replays. Bye Bye now :*
Skin that's the spot with the rock mobs right? Deeper in you get the bird archers? If same spot then yea do the 1st few kamael quests to get your armor if your an orc and head to that spot to get lvl'd up. Cuz you'll be within the right lvl range i think.
Cuz the Orcs are a pain to try and do under an hour with thier quests. It's seems to be faster to sit in one spot and just grind and get your adena. For your D grade weapons than to run back and forth on quests. Get a clan with academy and they'll help you with armor.

Nice try. They arent faster than doing the quests, I've tried both ways. Which is why im not recommending a noob to "lvl the old fashioned way".
And you also end up with more money doing the quests.

Stop it Foxy Faxy....you are gonna give Smittie a complex.

ive also tried it both ways. i can say truthfully that 10 minutes more time spent as a pre-20 and 30k adena really dont add up to being a huge difference.

Yes that's right and you can always go to the dungeon near Stronghold III teleport, great xp and re-spawn. And yes the low level experience quest for orcs sucks real bad :s
At Rohirrim: I leveled some academy toons lately and they didn't change it to 20 :/ After 10 your vitality gets consumed.

oh ok. I thought I read something about it somewhere. I guess I where wrong.
I haven't grinded a single character from 1 to 20 after they added the newbie guide quests that allows you to hit lvl 20 in an hour or less depending on the race you use.
1st quest done = lvl 6 (run in kamael village to the WH and Grocery after been requested to do so by one of the guards)
2nd quest done = lvl 10 (kill one or two mobs near stronghold 1 to get a quest item, quest is taken at the same place as the 1st one)
3rd quest done = lvl 18 (for some races this is a long quest that gives you a weapon in the end)
class change = lvl 20-21
(I may have mised one quest to hit lvl 18...been a while since I leveled an academy alt)
you only need one quest item in most of the quests to get the experience boost from the newbie guide.
oh and you need to talk to the newbie guide both before and after you have taken/completed the quest to get the extra exp, sp and adena boost.
Lv1-20 (follow the newbie guide questline) max 2h when you slow:P
Lv20-40 (try to make raidsbossparty + kamaloaka) goes fast:)
Lv40-52 (still can play alone, it goes fast new skills)
Lv52+ make partys enjoy the game and welcome to the grind part:)
at least when you do the newbie guide line you get some money to buy your common d grade weapon/equipment/jewl. For people that are new thats something
And not bother with people talking trash to you because you played on a private server: the important is that you joined us.
Make always the newbie quests: they are quick and good exp and sp (1 to 2 hours to lvl 20, and enough sp for the skills) and money to buy common d grade.
ever heard of common? i spent a TOTAL of 10m gearing my char from ng-76 using common gear weps and jewls
Currently 1 acct and no dwarfs. I use common gear on all my toons.
Question stands where do you get money for shot's if your doing nothing but farming raids and kamaloka's. They don't drop money and you hardly get anything as a drop from them.
So how does a brand new player make money by doing that and just that? If all he or she hears is to grind solo cuz this game supposedly doesn't start till lvl 76+. Then when your at that lvl you should join a clan. That's what i was asking about becuase with that kinda BS on these forums. It's probably stopped some from playing and so they found better games.
eamonn just let these people post as they will. if they suggest to grind kamalokas let them.
when the player comes back to the forum whining that they cant afford new gear, we can laugh at the poster who suggested grinding kamalokas, and give proper instruction because we will know that poster will have no more credibility to the OP regardless of level.
let people make their mistakes. its the only way people will learn.
early kamaloka's were not so bad, they gave pretty consistent drops...
like helmets... which i wore nograde until i got this as a drop...
these drops can be sold to shop, or crystalized by a friendly dorf.
friendly dorf's do exist, i know a few... and most of them were above c grade too... which is a bonus.
me, i used to do my grinding in fields of silence/whispers...
but ncsoft messed up my system... guess i shoulda been making more academy toons...

Was just asking a question and good luck with the game.
Admitting that you played in private servers is a bannable offense, just FYI (alhtough this rule seems to be overlooked these days).
that's kinda dumb really. I would have thought saying "I PLAY" private servers would be bannable, but "I USED TO PLAY" private servers would be good for NC retail.
