I'm really upset over this change that isn't mentioned anywhere in the patch notes. The manor was one of the few ways that a casual player could earn money while xping, but from now on it's going to be bot exclusive.
With the old manor you could manage to turn in your crops by being precise in your timing. To beat the bots you only had set up your sale in advance and then click the sell button at the exact right time. It was possible to win because the bots only had a precision of within 1 second, while a human could manage it within a few 10ths of a second.
With the new manor you can't se up your sale in advance anymore. It's now a matter of who can react to the manor update and complete the whole sell process in the fastest time. The sell process is a set of procedures that takes a couple seconds for a human to finish manually. This means that there's no way to beat the bots, because they can manage this at least 10x faster than a player could. For the popular mats you can't even see the crops before they're gone.
This change is really promoting botting in a big way. Is this really what NCsoft wants? It might not be a problem in Korea where they actually police botting and follow up on bot reports, but on our bot infested and long neglected servers it's a catastrophe.
Lyzira...please let NC know we want our old manor system back. Or we want the GM's to ban the bots using the manor system (hell just tell the GM's to ban some bots). It would be nice to turn in some fruit atleast once a week. But the lack of GM's banning bots this will never happen :(
/bot rant over till I log in and see no spots to xp because of NCbot!!!!
i'm not sure why everybody are crying, because i have no problem to turn in crops.
yes - you won't get max price - yes, you won't sell all crops.
but i manage to sell crops and buy seeds somehow... just try harder and work faster with yout mouse...
is the manor still resetting at the same time?
because when is tried last time all was gone already
that was 1 min past the hour (normally manor maintenance was until 6 mins past the hour)
quick question... is it etiquete to not kill a player who is red because of bot killing... cause i do it all the time and i want to know if i will be able to not get attacked?
so for those 6 months, those bots can go on being bots without any problem.
the bot programs are so sophisticated that most of the ncsoft staff can't tell the difference... or at least beyond reasonable doubt.
ok... that is a train of 5 people and that blade dancer has 100% efficiency on those dances, and those healers keep sitting between movements...
but the person in front has responded to a pm, so they must not be botting.
and since ncsoft allows use of macro keyboards and mice...
it's a lot harder to determine who is botting, and who is using nostromo or other macro tools...
the manor system cannot be unlimited...
man... tha's a lot of fruit... it will spoil, and i don't mean some dorf can sweeper it...
The only people who pretty much have ever beat me out on seed returns is other players, not bots... so no idea why people keep complaining it's the bots, it's your fellow players that are beating you out... clicking faster is pretty much the key to success here.
IF, infact the time is vareable then the cheaters using scripts will have a huge advantage...just like NCBOT intended. Please live with it or quit.
BTW the Swedish Television Clock still works...imaguine that!
It actually does still work, and the time isnt as varied as some ppl think.
Thankfully I had lots of experience from before trying to click second towns for crops, so the new change dont bother me much. But I dont really seed as much now. Been busy playing my Sts and also some excursions to Teon, where manor resets while im at work >.<
Also, for example there are some manors on Teon set up for very high buyprices of crops (10-20k buyprices, giving insane amount of mats).
Unfortunately the manors that buy with that buyprice of crops are sold out in a matter of milliseconds, that is absolutely impossible for even the fastest person at clicking and typing to do, completely only possible to turn in that if using a botprogram.
When I keep on clicking the crops in the list to see when it resets as fast as possible from before the manor resets until after reset, I see those high buyprices being there for one single click, and that is not even one second they are there and then completely sold out.
So someone please tell me how this is possible to do without using a botprogram?
The crazy high crop price is because the castle lord is botting and buying out everything for himself. He's buying the high priced crops at a loss, but by also being the seller he's making a crazy amount of profit in mats. The potential risk is minimal as long as no one else tries to bot the manor.
If you see crop buy prices 10x higher than normal (10k+) then that's a sure sign that the castle lord is botting the manor by himself.
Unfortunately, NCsoft doesn't seem to have a clue. The new manor is a botters wet dream.

They tried to do that on Phoenix too, I dont think I've ever gotten so much VOP and Mith alloy in one day lol. And yes, you can still click faster than those bots. You wont be succesfull without practice though.
And pls remember. Selling the seeds at a high price means nothing for castle lord, since he gets the profit from the sale of seeds also.
If you beat them they were not botting, or at least they weren't doing it right. It takes a split second to bot it. No way to beat that. You won't have time to even click on a crop in the list before it's gone.
It's not even a matter of "clicking fast" anymore because now there is no set time for when you can turn crops in. Which means the manor opens arbitrarily within a 5-min window and not at a set-time anymore, making it all based around luck. That's pretty screwy as now the manor is harder to time or turn in than ever and that's really saying something. Who could have thought they could have made the manor EVER more broken and difficult to turn-in than it previously was.
Leave it to NCSoft of course...the new manor system REALLY sucks.
Guess the bots weren't getting enough...and NC listens to their best customers.
Pretty soon ebay will be the only way to get enough Aden for gear....surprise!
And to all thepeople that are gonna come here and tell everyone how to make Adena and how they turn in top seeds...please save the ink...as you are being a tad obvious.

U sure seem to know alot about botting the manor o.O

Sry not obvious enough. Are you saying that everyone who is able to turn in high lvl crops are botting?
Well good luck making money in game, I guess you will do it some other way.
But accusing ppl of botting (if ever so vaguely), just because you yourself is inept, is kind of a low thing to do.
Actually, accusing most ppl of botting because of your own shortcomings is low lol.
The time they tried to raise the buy back price, was still the old system.
But right now on Phoenix I can still click on multiple towns and get my crops sold.
I dont click slow though, and it does take some practice.
6 clicks + inbetween mouse moves still takes more than 1 second, and anything slower than a fraction of a second isn't going to beat any bots.
There must be few manor bots on Phoenix. On Sayha the popular crops are sold out in the blink of an eye.

Have fun Tulp.
I just said they were being obvious as in NC fanbois (as in NC can do no wrong).
You came up with the botting.
Now i realize that you are sensitive since the few times i have seen smittie at at the manor guy there were quit a few people accusing you of scripting :/..if i recall correctly they left cause they said it was no use.
I on the other hand stood up for you and said if you scripted it would be easy enough for NC to spot. You even pmed me and thanked me for standing up for you!
Its been ages since I turned in crops on Smittie, I dont have the vast amounts of crops anymore, and that was with the old system, all I had to do was click in time, and with 8-10 different crops you always get some in.
The new system seems easier, but you do have to click alot of times. I guess others just gave up on trying, coz I can usually turn in quite a few crops, when I dont just forget the manor time.
I only turn in fruits like twice a week now or so, but I do get new returns.
If you gave me the name of your toon maybe I would remember you.
I could care less what ppl think of me, if I was scripting I would have been banned by now, and I'm clearly not. So there.

Yeah....i thought you would "forget"....anyways whatever...
I bought today some seeds, that they can turn in for VOP and MA.But they have 2nd reward too.
What i do to take MA & VOP?Can someone explain to me pls?
Is it better to use them on x1 mobs or x4?Or it has no meaning?
Can i use them inside catacombs?
First you have to seed a mob that falls in the seeds level range...your toon should be in the same level range as well.
You will get more seeds for 4x than you will for 1x
Yes cats and necs are very popular
Once you have the crops then you go to the Manor Mgr to turn them in. Not sure how it works now but you used to be able to see which reward the different towns were giving
So lets say that a town was offering to buy 500 of the VOP crop for 500 manor credits each (for lack of a better word) and lets say you had 500 crops. So if you turn all the crops in you would earn 500x500= 250000 credits. You get 1 VOP for 8100 manor credits....so if you are lucky enough to beat the bots you would recieve 30 VOPs. The manor credits for the mats is equal to 2x what the npc would give you adena wise. For example if you sell a VOP to a NPC he will give you 4050 Adena and therefore the Manor credit is 2x that or 8100.
So playing L2 has to be go figure how you can take some of bots leftovers?
Actually its worst than that.
Before it was possible to turn in some lower seeds. Although stems are not the most sought after it was nice that the system allowed for the legit player to cash those crops...at the time i guess it was impossible for the bots to get all the manor.
Last night i loged in around 11 pm EST (because of vareous commitments i could't log in at 9 pm) and i noticed that all the crops had been sold. In the 5+ years i've played this game i have never seen this. Even the much sought after stems were sold out.
I think that this above all else will basically stop the legit players from crafting. If you have to rely on drops for the massive amount of mats its game over for legit crafting. I thought changes to the game to prevent training of Bots for their equipment was obvious but NC really has outdone themselves on this one.
So the game has been escalated so that players can get to 75 rather quickly and then Bingo...no more Common items for s grade and crafting is basically eliminated. Then the game slows for 76 and up and those players that have a time investment to reach 75 are screwed....Guess the legits can "play the Market" to get gear :p
However I don't believe this is a diabolical plot to assist NCSoft's best customers--the botters.
I think the answer is more simple than that.
I think their development sucks and that there is no logical plan.
My interaction with some of the dizzying changes they've made to this game (some of which have been incomprehensible) suggests to me that a bunch of guys sit around and make stuff up from time to time. Then they program the changes that most agree 'might' be okay.
Which is akin to having no development plan at all.
The ways for a pre-75 player to make some adena have mostly involved manor, marketing, fishing. Questing and hunting have never been reasonable methods.
When there were more lower-leveled players in the game, it was sometimes possible to do some little things that could be effective (spoiling for Bsps-C recipe was an example of this) or camping a sell shop in the market where a foolish castle owner inflated tax %'s. Perhaps even a repeatable quest or two.
These are being eroded. They are not gone, but they are significantly harder than they were--mainly because of dwindling players at lower levels.
Unfortunately for us, we get programmed content that makes perfect sense for 50,000 (or whatever) Korean players, even if there are 1,000 subscribers on our NA servers.
Just as a reminder, I was one who argued (and heard all kinds of crap from others here) that the game should NOT speed players to 76 and that the mid-level content should be improved more than it was. I listed a number of complications that would occur simply from making 1-75 so ****ed fast.
The biggest of these was a prediction that newer players would arrive at 76 with relatively little experience and comparatively BROKE as far as adena.
I refer to the speeding up of the game as the "perpetually funding ebay sellers" scheme.
As for the manor, you've compressed players at the top and INCREASED competition for seeds--and increased competition for adena generating crops. Little wonder they seem less available.
I doubt there will be many meaningful changes to the manor. There are obvious things that could be done but each time they are suggested, they are shouted down by botters.
End of the day, I still don't think NCSoft is purposefully aiding bots--I think NCSoft is not intelligent/interested enough to do things for players that will frustrate bots.

I disagree with NC's intentions....nobody could be that obtuse.
Was rereading and recalling all the arguments I got a couple/three months back on these forums....because I said "these changes will simply cause players to quit at 73-74 instead of at 63--but they will quit at the higher level in LESS time than it used to take to hit low 60's and they will know LESS about their toons and the game and have LESS adena when they quit!"
Essentially, a dissatisfied newbie now quits in the low 70's realizing he/she will NEVER acquire adena to buy gear and the time that has passed is a couple of months (maybe 3).
In the past the newbie who quit in low 60's had been playing the game for 5-6 months and during that time participating in the market and economy and within clans. At least there was SOME time for the newbie to meet cool, established players and perhaps stick around awhile longer.
Now? Swooooosh--"I'm level 73, vitality doesn't work as well, I've got 11 million adena and common gear, and after 3 months I know 6 people in the game, all of whom are in the clan that picked me up last month.....I quit."
THAT is why the new players add less to the game now--from their perspective and from ours!
Sure is a good thing we sped that up for them!
I'll say it for the 100th time (though no one is listening), a QUANTUM LEAP in payments to low level players must occur in response to speeding up lowbie leveling. Yes it is inflationary, but the alternative is a level of frustration that cannot be overcome by the newer player.
You can't simply let them swoosh to 76 with fewer people to interact with at low levels, the low level economy completely disconnected, and with no adena and little hope to raise the 100's of millions they will need.
Why is anyone surprised they aren't staying with the game even though it's been simplified, speeded up, and dumbed down?
NCSoft essentially built structure after structure to speed the newbie PAST all the formally instructive and worthwhile content from 1-70. Those were levels and areas where PLAYERS existed where a newbie could "earn and learn"--all marginalized now.
More importantly, they weren't replaced--they were abandoned! There is nothing worthwhile in those levels, at least not once you define "avoiding time" as the only GOAL for those levels.
Now the newbies are more dissatisfied, more disconnected, and more broke--FASTER than ever.
Brilliant.

If nscoft thought lvling so fast would keep players into game, should think other mechanics to make them earn money, making special events-rewards maybe, having a toon and staying with comon gear wont keep u in game.
It's not only low lvl players that dont have the time to make money and learn how to play, the high lvl players also can't use game's mechanics that produce profit, even their s grade that they paid a fortune to make cant be sold!
Add to that, last years event that gave us nothing we could earn money of it.
Manor was the last door for legits to make some money inside the world of 83+ botted/ebayed toons.

There were quite a few of us that couldn't understand the benefit of people levelling so fast without the capability of making enough Adena to keep up with the gear requirements.
When a relative noobie hits S grade he is presented with a monumental task....not only does he have to obtain sufficient Adena to get regular S items (as compared to Common)but also needs the elemental bonuses to stand a chance in some of the better exp areas...its almost insurmountable imo unless you go contrare to the EULAs
As was said it would just up the frustration level. It's the same with noobie buffs to 75. What person would make a buffer in the hopes of finally getting a party at 75+
Maybe you are right...maybe the developers have zero foresight
I don't like posting flame bait but the situation is ridiculous.
I can say with absolute certainty that the Rune manor on Sayha is being farmed by botters. The 4 top crops that are set at 15k-22.5k each are being sold out every day before you can even see them in the list. Every day they generate 1025 Enria, 940 Mith Alloy, 535 Mold harder and 1863 Synth cokes (225m+ adena at current market prices).
Rune castle is owned by Innersphere. I guess Gungrave has his own reasons for setting the prices abnormally high. Maybe he just enjoys giving botters huge amounts of money at his own expense. Any comment Gungrave?
Thanks for all the feedback on this folks. I just wanted you to know that this is on our radar. We'll let you know if we have an update coming.
I have heard this many times over the last 5.5 years. I have seen very little to improve the lot of honest players.
I hope this is just not Rhetoric from you Lyzira...it is my belief that the legit community really needs to believe in someone from NC Soft and imo, so far, you have come the closest to being what we require.
It's a long story but that was (maybe is) what Smittie told me he used to time the Manor and beat the scriptors ;)
Ah, well i'm stuffed on that system then; for some reason I don't really understand, my wife insists on having clocks 5 minutes fast, except for the bedroom alarm clock - that is 15 minutes fast...
All it means in reality is that I set my alarm for 7:30 instead of 7:15 when I want to get up at 7:15...

Having held Dion castle on Sayha for a month I can assure you that, at least for that month, the high prices were required to get sales. Lower prices just caused the "sellers" to hold onto the fruit until they got the price they wanted. Since the vast majority of "sellers" have "enhanced" selling ability they aren't really too worried about getting in first when the price is acceptable.
Also why not look at Innidril? They have a unbelievably high price on a random fruit every day, maybe they have some method to that madness but it doesn't register on your radar. Maybe you just have some problem with GunGrave and this was just a convenient topic in which to lash out.

Because my cute dwarfie responds, I respond... Please Tabbi in future reference dont bother with these people... It is a waste of your time including mine, but here goes:
I always read the boards ;) The fact I dont reply does not mean I dont read... I cared to improve the game in co-op with the GM's and Support for years... Even in korean beta (where in fact there was CO-OP between players and the support staff).
Sadly I have tried and tried for the last 2 years (even when i got scammed), to get in "touch" with support. Currently and I am giving MY personal opinion, gm's ingame or support dont care.
Report a botting DA/DW member that is afking and even on autorez. You fraps it and send it in... Fact u get banned is higher then the guy on autorez...
SAD BUT TRUE STORY... I cared for the player base on the server, perhaps even in the entire game (NA servers). My energy just ran out awhile ago, right now I focus on the people important to me (my ally members + friendly clans). Several people from ally got scammed, does support care, NO: who has to sell gear / items to regear the scammed ally member. HELL YEAH GunGrave + Dutch unit...
To stay ontopic: I don't run the manor in Rune, I think we set the manor with high price to generate the maximum profit. Then the question comes why does MY clan (NOT ME) want maximum profit? Maybe because we got alot of members that need gear, and shots etc.
To the people that dont know, the clan IS supplies everything for clannies. From gear to shots during sieges :)
Aside from the fact it is OUR castle and we can set it up THE WAY WE LIKE, I repond to show to my clannies (Tabbi ~,~) that I do am still diligently reading this board. Keeping up with all the nonsense people are spouting about (ofcourse I do see individuals that try to improve the game and make sense in their comments). For the people that are still trying to co-operate and improve, please continue to do so. After the 1000th petition, getting a automated reponse: Please use the "FAIL" bot report button on the "target" player in question... Newsflash... If they are in 2 way war you cannot use the button...
Ow since iam typing anyways: Offtopic rant, Kameal males are overpowered. I gametested for years almost 9 years now, and they have too many skills that make them overpowered.
Paralyze? 30% landrate if u hit them? (it should be lowered)
Steal buff? Recycles faster then "hell i dont know :P" (recycle time should be higher)
Disarm? lasts too long incl. block re-equip is not good (re-equip should be possible)
Flasing AOE stun? at least dont let it be nonstop (at least some recycle time)
And the list goes on.
Well then, so far for my monthly ranting ;) Thanks tabbi <3
Feel free to respond, but getting another response on the board out of me is going to be difficult. However ontopic argumented reponses that are valid and helpfull to the game and players I will comment upon.

Best of luck player,
GunGrave (Adminstrator IS)
For some reason...when i read this post, this quote kept coming to mind. Hopefully it is insightfull.
GG is right and sounds like the only one on this forum that makes any sense in my opinon, lyzira should listen to our community espeically GG in my opinon. i vote GG for president!
Because my cute dwarfie responds, I respond... Please Tabbi in future reference dont bother with these people... It is a waste of your time including mine, but here goes:
~snip~
Yes, I'm a cute lil dorfy, and I can kinda see why you think I am yours but I am my own red-hot momma dorfy. Though, you are free to use/abuse me anytime since we have a "special relationship" :)
BTW: I'm not jealous of Beckz, really... not at all... honestly...

I'm unsure exactly how buying crops for 10x higher price than normal maximizes profit, but then again, I've never owned a castle so I can't say it's impossible.

Actually it does. The extra cost is passed on to you, the buyer of Giant's books, crystals, bsoe, brez, enchants etc... The castle owner needs to get maximum fruit in order to produce maximum benefit. The more volume, the higher the profits.
Since the manor "users" are very price sensitive while the end consumers of castle goods are not, this makes the most sense.

Hope that clears it up for you.
I'm sorry, but I'm still not sure I follow you.
The crops that are being overpriced at Rune after the update have been selling out for months, at all manors. How will it yield more crops by suddenly raising the price by ten times?
I have a question...what will happen to the castles that lost their crops at 15/12 cause of the extended mainentance?? is there going to be a reset to obtain their crops? if not there should be one i think...btw money have been taken from the vaults
Truthfully, If gm's and support staff members would take me serious... There would be alot of good things / better things. If they make fun of me, talk crap to me between the lines and ignore me which happened before on many occasions, it will not give me motivation to work and help them in return.
I see the problems, I have (fore)seen them years ago. For what it is worth, I have seen Lyzira undertake action (I cannot verify this) BUT I do see that she reads the posts and comments.
Currently I have exam's at the Uni, end of this week ill be free.
With the holiday season, I will try to improve gameplay on my server. Feel free to pm me on forum with tips / comments - I will make a nice structured article and mail it to ncsoft support. I will run the technical aspect for your problem statement, just if u got a solid complaint and u have arguments to support your case pm me on this board with it.
After gathering and reading the messages, if there is enough to build a solid case. I will form an article and mail it to Lyzira / support. You guys catch me at a good time, some old friends returned to L2 :) In a good mood ^,~
Offtopic: About the tech. team of ncsoft with the server names, alot of complaints ingame, we are all humans even the guys at the support. We all make mistakes, at least your solution was good I think. Not the best one but acceptable, good luck on fixing the issue :P
I guess you should try to make a more "lasting" impression on ppl.
Did u tell me u were DrTulp on the forums, coz I'm sure I would have remembered that.
Or were u that dark elf dagger I helped that day in Dion?
Actually you knew i was DrTulp on an Alt eventhough i never said anything...go figure.
I have never chosen my friends wisely in this game so i have never recieved any help from anyone of them... they just took and took.
As far as de dagger...as you know i've never played one.
