On Tuesday, December 15th all servers will be down for server maintenance and an update. All servers will be brought down at 6am PST / 8am CST / 9am EST / 2pm GMT. Please take note of this earlier time! Downtime will be extended tomorrow and last for four hours. Servers should be back up at the usual time but are being brought down early for the update.
The following changes/fixes are being implemented:
Skills
The Dance of Shadows skill now has the following enchantment routes:
Time: Increases the duration of the skill
Cost: Decreases MP required to use this skill
The description for the Sublime Self-Sacrifice skill has been updated to describe the skill more accurately.
The icon for the skill Holy Blessing no longer becomes invisible when the skill is enchanted.
After enchanting the Holy Blessings skills past level 1, the route names for Heal Bleeding and Cure Poison have been corrected.
The enchantment description of Song of Meditation +Cost has been corrected.
When a character uses their Hide skill, the opponent will lose target and any action being performed will be canceled.
Some of the rules surrounding players using hide skills have been changed.
Buff Skills: Cannot be used
Benevolent AoE Skills: Cannot be used
The Detection skill will no longer affect friendly characters.
NPC
The entrance guard for Nornil’s Garden should now appear correctly.
Items
The display size and location of enchants and augments for a Vesper Caster has been corrected.
The rank displayed in the tooltip for a Knight’s Cloak has been corrected to say it can only be equipped by Barons or higher.
The issue where it was not possible to enchant Masterwork Dynasty Leather Gloves has been corrected.
Armor set bonuses have been updated for the following Dynasty Items:
Dynasty Platinum Plate – Force Master: Str +1, Con -2, Dex +1
Dynasty Platinum Plate – Force Master (PvP): Str +1, Con -2, Dex +1
Dynasty Leather Armor – Weapon Master: Str +1, Con -2, Dex +1
Dynasty Jewel Leather Armor - Weapon Master: Str +1, Con -2, Dex +1
Dynasty Leather Armor – Enchanter: Int -1, Men +2, Wit -1
Dynasty Breast Plate – Force Master: Str +1, Con -2, Dex +1
The stun resistance ability has been removed from the Dynasty Tunic – Wizard set.
The graphical issue appearing on the shoulder of a male Orc fighter equipped in a Dynasty Breast Plate - Bard has been fixed. This only occurred when the Orc fighter was subclassed to a Spectral Dancer or a Sword Muse.
The shield effect not being applied to the armor sets Dynasty Breast Plate – Shield Master and Dynasty Breast Plate – Shield Master(PvP) has been corrected.
Pet
The issue with only the pet master being teleported outside of an instanced dungeon has been fixed.
If a character restarts while a pet is summoned, the same pet will automatically be summoned when the character re-enters the world.
The status information for a pet (HP/MP/hunger gauge, etc) will be saved and applied automatically when the pet is re-summoned.
Items placed in a pet’s inventory will remain on the pet when it is summoned/unsummoned.
When multiple pets are owned by a single character, those pets will share an inventory. For example, if one pet is unsummoned while it still has items in its inventory, then it will be impossible to sell or trade other pets.
Mail System
The method used to calculate the fee for sending items through mail has been changed.
Hunting Grounds
Characters are now able to enter the Heart of Infinity when the Hall of Suffering and Hall of Erosion are in the defense state.
Tasaba Lizardman Snipers will now spawn on Alligator Beach.
When Beleth is defeated by characters in a command channel, Beleth’s Ring can be acquired through the Stone Coffin.
Olympiad
Characters that are currently engaged in an Olympiad match can no longer receive party/friend invites.
Aerial Cleft
The issue with being able to switch teams as the match is starting has been fixed.

on top of that there are server ques, so if everyone is logging in at the same time its going to get bottlenecked. just relax, NC SOFT didnt pack up and leave :)
Just bought the game this morning hoped to play a few minutes before I had to go to bed. Now I'm sad panda ...
unfortunaly after 5 year play L2 Ncsoft always fail when its time to add/remove event at maintenance. i just dont remember when they didnt fail on any kinf of event

i just wanted to avoid sending 10k mails with 5k shots each for like c grade shots that are consumed alot and..... GF, i had to return the mail :(

Most of these changes are stupid and mean nothing. The one I'm curious about is the change to seed, does that mean stone farming is open in those states?

i keep a sword of NM w/light on my main when i mail freshly crafted 70k of SSS, i had to switch to my GK, strip naked, and hold the sword of nightmare while bowing to taurin to recieve my shots!!!

Indeed I really miss the freight system. Now when I have to send my AQ to another char, I check 2-3 times the name as a maniac. Also, it was **** compfortable to have supplies in the freight window, now I have to search the whole wh to get out shots, food for wolf and so on.

Consider: you have to be in a peacefull area to send a mail. Well, that's what we've used mrt for until now! But I wanna break a spear for the pidgeon: the animation is great.

nah, the clan leader rerolled on siegehart, after the clan dorf somehow managed to scam the clan outta all their gear, of course i was lucky to be in the hospital so i didnt lose my gear ...though my brother did, and the CL felt sorry for em, and left him his doom light and cd w/mm and emi bow.

About the event, I haven't checked it yet, but I think that this rudolph stuff is not equal. If i got it well, you have to exp with rudolph summoned for 1 hour to make it grow. Not very nice to those poor summoners or tanks soloing with wolf: to participate in the event I have to waste hours of exp every day cause I cannot summon my wolf too oO
Maybe a destro does not care, a summoner instead surely does, as do I on my Shillien Templar...

The only thing I see it useful for is getting soul shots and if you have to go back to town to pick them up in the mail why not just go to your wh and get them or buy them from a vendor? It seems the only thing it does now is allows ebayers to get their adena without setting up a store with 1 soe priced at 1billion adena? This mail could really be improved...and yeah bring back freight.

sounds liek an issue with your anti virus scanner there is no viruzz in l2 i know i used to get that alot with new updates on zonealarm anti virus till they updated their info to see l2 stuff nto as viruss. best solution is to put the lineage2 file in the exceptions of your anti virus

I think mail send animation should be visible to anyone...
Also should be possible to send from anywhere... But not receive.
Anyway this is not a problem for me - I have a few summoners 56+ so I can just soe, get/send mail and get back for a mere 46k adena.
New mail system rocks. I have sorted all my stuff from different chars to the certain specialized mules so I know what drop to send whom and where to find anything I want, that's just great imo. Old WH is not really needed if they've reduced the sending price so it does not depend on the weight... we'll see how it works now though.

Well that is how much you have actually observed about farming bots. They dont need a mail system to receive supplies. They have couriers that do all that, on a regular basis. Tell me how a bot is going to use the mail system anyway? I doubt its built in to bot programs? These farming organizations existed long before lineage, they use runners to deliver supplies and pick up money and materials. If you are talking about players that bot, like someone out xping, most of them afk xp and have scripts that send them back to town, pick up shots and go back to xp. Let's say I got disconnected in the agro mobs area. Before this patch I could login without summoning wolf and use soe, mobs do not touch me while I don't perform any action.
Now my wolf is summoned automatically, appears without buffs and mobs attack him right away, cause it's considered like my action.
Sad :(

Also why doesn't the rudolph nose glow? Also why can't we wear both the Santa Hat and the Nose at the same time? Nose by itself just makes the toons look like clowns...
Is it a crit error? I was getting random crit errors also but I closed the client and ran a file check. Everything is fine now. Restarting your PC like Cabbie may work also.
