I would like to give NCSoft my thanks for this event.
Its cute and fun and I like it.
Mainly, I want to recognize that this is the event that many of the anti-bot posters have been asking for for a long time on these boards. Its fun for humans and in no way benefits the soulless. The design of having to scratch the deer makes automation difficult (certainly not impossible) and the reward for doing so is not worth the effort to our robotic friends.

Not to mention that the only permanent reward from this event (+12 A grade weapon) can be obtained by botting.
Compare that miniscule chance with the events that "the toon that kills the most mobs gets the best rewards" type of events (squash event for example) and tell me this event is a botter's dream come true.

What you should do Jodi, is take your dwarf around to all the places with NPC outside of town and hammer crush/stun all of the afk DA/DW I bet have gone to sleep using the same tactic as I hitting an NPC. Don't even bother killing them, just stun 'em, they'll be standing there the rest of their sleeping night NOT in combat mode. It's a win-win!

well my clan leader was afk for a few minutes at the castle while we were waiting for everyone to arrive for castle dungeon and he got visited by santa .... he was just standing there :rolleyes:
and don't we all know by now how correct ncsoft's descriptions of everything is? :D

Tip for annoying fruit baskets:
On your last rudolph, only scratch to 75% and stop, he will keep buffing u the low haste buff and pick up the herb baskets.
Not bot friendly?
bots get to pick up fast because they can avoid the baskets via programming
summoners/people without Rudolph cannot
So real players are slowed down leveling to pick up items or choose to loose items dropped as it is inconvenient to pick up
Santa has always been this way as bots run 24 hrs that means they have 24 hrs of straight chance where RL players have only when they are hunting or hitting an npc (which increases the time/chance) but isnt in the spirit of the event imo.
i sure bet those fruit baskets are annoying in aoe parties...
but i geuss if everyone has rudolph... maybe less so.
those baskets should have been pickupable by players...
sure... it would require an extra pickup to avoid getting locked on an item you can't pickup... but wow.
i wonder if bots get affected by the fruit baskets?

My event tactic;
1. find isolated NPC outside of town
2. attack NPC
3. sleep irl
4. reap piles of gift boxes with limited time items.
5. ???
6. profit!

Love the event! Great Xmas theme. The Rudolf's are awesome =)
Love having a +16 S weapon even if its for 4 hours! Leveling with it is great. Also like the idea of having a chance at a +12 A regardless how
small that chance is. Having the fat Santa show up adds a nice finishing
touch on what is one of the better events on here.
Yes a couple things are somewhat annoying but not worth all the crying you see on here. Very pleased we had this event and just hope they keep
giving us events because that is what I always look for.
Nice job on this event NCsoft regardless of any of the speedbumps that the maintenance brought.
when i say l2 are the best conspiracy theorists out there take it with a grain of salt i live near Roswell NM and let me tell u the anti government rants ive heard out here are out there... i know a lady who doesn't have a tv or computer cause the monitors have cameras and why do they need speakers and microphones? so they can listen in... OI!
listen do as the cool one said and go hit a npc while you sleep outside the lvling zone. plenty to choose from. if your 56 and under go to cruma tower and go inside so higher ups cant mess with you. if your looking for far bizzarr places use your imagination like say low lvl catacombs. i ran through HC on phoenix and it truely is a crypt now. all the while staying in combat mode and out of peace zone. free presents!
baskets are the only downside this year and it aggravates me but far less than other events. hell even healers can be happy cause their raindeer can lvl with all the drops and in party they dont have to be in combat mode... just keep crackin the whip on those DD's!
other than that its pretty freaking sweet
i got a shirt +11 with bonus to all my stats and some marevelous p def and m def and elemental protection to boot!
now the unfortunate summoners are the ones i feel sorry for since Rudolph cant attack... i think he SHOULD have been an agathon! that would have been best! and no reason they couldn't have other than i don't know if its possible to make them interact with drops.
but good event at least better than most over all! only thing better is if the **** deer would bring me a beer.
which brings me to my last comment i think next event should be a pub and Isabelle should run the event giving buff granting beer to all! with special brews that give back vitality. the kicker it makes your screen blurry and you cant walk in a straight line. with variations that turn your hair green, or big feet (the big head has been done to death) n makes humans more attractive and light elves a bit more gifted. and well maybe makes dark elves clothes skimpier... if thats possible...
me think it is an event for bots, nc anoyed the very few nonbotters to hell with those baskets .. i dont play much atm because i cant pick up loot ... so the bots have more room to farm and i got some free days. Besides .. why do i get a mage buff as reward when i play a melee?
i want the "collect 1000 items for an ead"-event back!

i find events like this beneficial just because they give perceived rewards...
however... i do hate how they have forced so many items upon us...
3 reindeer necklaces... food, and a golden ticket which i thought people complained about back in the Eva's event... but yet they still reproduced in this event.
hoping for vit buff is sad... as we all know it would be about as likely as getting AQ ring from letters event... but it's better than nothing...
so far I like it and sure the unpickable drops get in the way but those fade after a minute or so while the real drops stay for 10 so not that problematic as some ppl make it seem like imo

I think what the OP was saying when they said this was an anti-bot event, is that the bots cannot set up their sell shops and make tons of money selling this stuff like they did last year, when you could sell or trade the santa stocking before you opened it up.
I love this event and can deal with the minor hassel of waiting for the food to disappear to go pick up an item.

16.turkey dinners

^__^ but all jokes aside I kill 20+ mobs in stakato nest in 1min and I just keep killing them at diff spots so I can pick up the previous one every other time ;)
... i wanna kill that fast...
i kill maybe 5 mobs per minute give or take the situation...
then again.. i'm a support class.
also on subject of not celebrating christmas...
Jehovah's witnesses don't celebrate any holidays...
me... i don't care what it's about...
i just like to celebrate by being home and having a nice dinner... and getting presents, even though i'm too old to be getting without giving...
