By their actions to improve the game for the Adena Sellers (Botters) (manor system is the latest) i would say NC West promotes buying of Items/Adena through 2nd parties not selling direct.
Want to eliminate most of the bots.....have NC sell items/Adena direct to the player base...most bots gone!

Why not allow the NA market to have access to these extra features. Additional game content doesn't ruin the game...the game is ruined by jerkwaifs and gorbisches.
I wouldn't mind it so long as items weren't sold, such as dynasty, icarus, ect. If its things like hats, hair pins, exp runes, things like that... I could deal with it.
I'm OK with the Pets being added, the rest though Not so much. You can pay monthly for a Box, or get yourself one of the pets. Purchasable XP/SP Runes, Defiantly No... The feather I think is kinda silly, but if it was to be allowed, you cannot get up where you died, if you accept the rez it needs to send you to the nearest town or something to that nature.
Rustail has items you can buy, but you can also play a basic account for free. I would love access to the xp/sp runes, but I also realize once you head down that path there is no turning back. I really don't want a private server type set-up being introduced, where you pay extra money to the owner (NcSoft in this case) to get exclusive items no one else can get.
There is a monthly subscription in place here. Bonus items like those should be event or quest rewards, not something you drop extra cash toward.

We all pay the same monthly subscription to play right now. Thus, we all have access to the same content. You might not have the clan/gear/levels to accomplish some of it, but nothing is stopping you from working toward that, and it is all included in the $15 per month.
Now if they add in some extra items for additional cash NcSoft will be under internal business pressure to continually spice up their offerings in order to bring in as much revenue as possible from this additional service. So perhaps they start with just decorative items or pets that don't do anything that ones in the game don't do, but eventually the pressure will build, and they will begin to add content that effects the game play (pets with exclusive attacks/buffs, gear that gives exclusive bonuses, hats that bless res you, etc). Now if I pay 15 a month I'm SOL because I can't compete with the guy that spent 300 on NcCoin this month.

Its the same principle you would have to work harder to match up with the person who spent more. But yet they allow people to run as many accounts as they please, so why is it i cant have nc coin?

The person with 4 or 5 accounts still have to level the chars, and they are doing it for buffs (usually). Now, if you're in a clan or group of friends you can have that too. What you couldn't have without paying the cash is the exclusive items.
Look, I've seen first hand donation based game systems, and they always turn ugly. You can tolerate it when the game is free, but paying a subscription, and then having to shell out even more is absurd.
There's a reason rustail is free to play for a basic account. They make money off a GM shop, but allow free access otherwise. Still requires a fine balancing act, but is otherwise workable. However, charging $15 a month and adding a shop is a non-starter imo.
Its probably just a difference in opinion here that wont change on subjects like this cause i dont have a ton of spare cash lying around that i could throw at ingame items but i also wouldnt hold it against anyone who wanted to cause we each play our own game. ^^

NC changed the Manor system so that seed buying and crop turn in is no longer available to the legit player...you need a 2nd party script. It doesn't matter how much effort you put in.

I agree the manor is atm. However, you shouldn't seriously suggest that the design was to keep non-bots from accessing it. That may have been the result, but not the design.
Either way, we're talking apples and oranges. I'm talking about limiting your access to content unless you pay more money to NcSoft. You're talking about a dev and/or GM issue.
Possibley but what creates the problems are that some people are profiting from NC West's way of handling the game.
If they enforced their own EULAs then cheaters would not get a leg up on legit toons.
So to level the field, imo, NC should do one of three things.
Enforce their own EULAs
Get rid of the EULAs and it becomes the wild west
Sell items and adena and infact become the Adena Seller's.
Since NC West can't or doesn't want to do the first choice (because they would lose revenue) we are left with 2 and 3. Since they won't do 2 (this is a valid choice with a 6 year old game however they would still lose revenue cause the cheaters would leave) then we are left with 3 (cheaters would leave and revenues would not change...ebayers would pay rl money to NC Soft not the Adena Sellers) (basically we would have what we have now but most bots would be gone AND there would be a greater importance to NC West to eliminate the Bots).
In conclusion...i'm all for NC West selling whatever they want...even if its just NC Coin..it's a start in a direction.

Why? I'm older than most players. I have a very nice job and substantial free cash flow. Therefore, I could spend a lot of money thru NCoin thus putting myself at an advantage versus the general player base. What would happen then? Most players would consider my advantage unfair and it would upset them and many of them would leave. That would hurt the game, that would hurt NCSoft...and it would hurt me, too.
I like the current system. I spend my $15/month x 2 accounts, period. Nothing else, ever. Sure others cheat, but most of them tend to quit since their accomplishments mean little to them...since they didn't earn their gear/levels but instead bought them.
I earned mine, so they mean a lot to me. And so I stay and play forever!
Hey I'm retired; all I do is drink BEERS and play L2! NCNA where's our coins, so we can buy stuff? Even NC adena should be sold by using coins. That would certinly hurt the botters and bring the $$$ back into NCS pocket! :D

Exactly. I'm in the same position, older than many here (30's), and with a good deal of disposable income. I'll say right now that if they ever went ahead with this, and put anything that would give an edge into that store, I'll be the first in line to buy it, and the first guy to go PK all of you with it.
I'm just saying it's best that they don't go that route ;)
OT: imo NC should feel free to add in pay for content that does not affect xp/sp - it would be nice if we could just buy whatever hat/hair acc we wanted, etc. there are literally hundreds of them already built ino the game we will never see as it is now.
any pay item to increase stats or xp or sp is just gonna throw more imbalance around, and that's the biggest complaint around here so probly not a good idea

That's exactly been done / being done by cheaters using 3rd party programs...Bots... Auto pot... radar... scripts... Hide... Auto target... etc.

hmm ya, I can still turn some stuff in at manor, just have to be fast and maybe only turn one thing in and maybe not for best price but can still do it.
or farm things that aren't quite as high in demand but still valuable and sell those to buy what you need.

Like I said, I'm OK with them adding some of this in, but some should not be allowed, ie. XP/SP Ruin's defiantly No. The Feather for Brez, I'm on the fence with this one, so long that it has a penalty attached to it, like you can take the 100% rez, but it sends you at least back to the nearest town. The Pet's/Summon's, frankly I don't much care... They aren't game changing. The name color changing stuff, again isn't a big deal either. If someone wants to spend extra money on those type of things, I don't really care...

Are u serious?havent you noticed that each time a server opens an army of bots is everywhere?All adena sellers are there and all people who want to rule on server are paying huge cash and bot 24/7 so they can reach high lvls first.Didnt you noticed that only 6-7 raids are droping something so valuable that makes a big difference for people who have it(and rest of raids drop crap)?Have you ever played a toon 5/5 with ++++++top gear?You think that legit people some how will win billions of adena in game(by playing bingo maybe)so they will afford to buy top gear too?Or they will camp on these top raids and kill the ''shiny'' ebayed toons with rocks and sticks?
Korea service would only give to the game some kind of ''game's colour'' some toys to play and fool around as it should be in a game-remember,we pay to play a game,not to work on a second job and pay for it too-.I vote for such service and i want also all the events korea gets with the sweet rewards,we on na servers deserve to get what the korean are getting too.

Look, I wouldn't care if they only offered special decorative accessories or w/e. They already do that with epic collections, and the items have zero influence on game play. What I am arguing against is having any sort of items that change the game play being offered. However, I also think that if they start NcCoin up that eventually it will lead to that.
If they start this service, and offer game changing items, I'm just going to sit back and watch the crying that comes from some of you. I might even post an "I told you so" now and then just to rub it in :D

If it was small things, I'd be fine with it... Its just that when it gets into the things that let you buy your way to the top... It screws people, and others will quit.

Game is bleeding to death cause some of us are struggling to compete with botters and ebayers while others got sick of poor updates and bugs,non rewarding quests ect ect ect....A game shouldnt be a matter of life and death issue.A game should be enough fun and rich in contents to keep us playing for many hours everyday and give us the sense of victory.All players who stay for +8 hours everyday should be able to be top players through game mechanics.Instead of that we have top players made on auto programs .If it is true that koreans are botting much less than na population do and still were capable to reach 84lvls fully s80 geared why not to see how game exists on their servers?
