77/78 actually went relatively quickly for me on my archer. 79 has been a biyatch. IOP was working well (0.22% per buff round or so with POF) until the last update, now I can only do like 0.14% per round in the same spot. Pretty lame.
I moved to ketra Captains and stuff, but might just take the time one of these nights to try out HS again even if everything is blue, the killrate there is insane.
When I grab a dagger and can duo a dancer room in IT with a GK, we do like 0.45% a round at VP4. Melee and Nukers really have the leveling advantage in this level range for sure.
I ran a test last night on 2 spots. Setup was GS with 78 PP OOP with PoF. +5 str +4 dex, +7 DB/f 150 fire and drac light.
Did 2 rounds in Hot Springs near noble port, just running in circles killing everything (avoided grendel, but still took out antelope). At VP2 I averaged 0.26% per buff round there, which, if we negate Vitality, works out to about 8.2m XP / hour solo if you go nonstop.
Did another 2 round in Ketra on Captain badge type mobs, and at VP2 I only did on average about 0.22% per round. Once again, negating vitality, that works out to about 7m XP / hour solo if you go nonstop.
So even on the blue mobs in HS, given the killrate and less running, the XP per hour soloing is better, even if it is boring as hell and has virtually no income benefit.
I'll test some more areas this weekend if I can find the time.

I've seen Archers do well in the FoTD's Vampire spot. Varka Soldiers (near the port spot) are within your level range. I wouldn't go to Varka unless you have more than 70 element on your bow though and/or prophecy. Kills could be kinda slow in Varka for a MS without them.
Dont laugh but i invested a lot of adena in transformation scrolls and started to melee with p.attk of bow as i had hard times finding any good parties.
So if u will manage to collect 9 tranformations u can solo all the time.
My personall fav place was pagans but i did have bd and cov on my back.
If u dot want to do so try IOP or begining of chromatic highlands, or places around parnasus.
Ketras are cool if u leave goddard head to the left and try to walk over the place at the end theres quite and nice spot.
U can also go to WoA grab a quest from the eye and theres a nice place not the angels but elders something flying around with weak to arrow.
I now possess POF and almost 79 so at 79 where should i go lvl ???? because this thing is really going to give me the creaps because i can't do solo lvling anywhere anymore :S hunf...
AND i really hope PLAINS OF LIZZARDMAN CAN BE AN ARCHER SPOT, something that NCSOFT has forgotten about :( damm guys only giving places to others :S hunf...

That is actually what I do and solo SV. it sucks but what can you do :)
Saber Tiger works well. Death Blader probably OK.
Remember the stats for the transform are based on your weapon, so you bite pretty hard w/ a Draco Bow.
3 archers, arbalester, BD, SWS, WC, EE, BP in Tully's might be fun. I would of course recommend AQ, Baium on archers, sit in a triangle in snipe, and have max dark resist armor. The mobs should ping pong between the archers.
