Server Maintenance - 1-26

All servers will be down for maintenance on Tuesday, January 26th at 8am PST / 10am CST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT. Estimated downtime is approximately 2 hours.

We know it goes down tomorrow, it always goes down on a Tuesday :P

But are there any changes? Or just your standard reset and account services type deal?

Since when is Teon closed for transferts ?
Seriously, I checked the Availibility page, it was ok, I buy my transfert service and now Teon's closed...

I hate to speculate and that's exactly what I am doing here -- please be aware that I don't know anything I'm just guessing -- but perhaps that server will soon be closed and merged with another server? Luna perhaps?

I really don't know it just seems odd, I didn't think the Teon population was really so high they needed to temporarily close it off.

Teon has highest population of all servers afaik, so it isn't that surprising imho

But none of the servers run "Heavy" on a regular basis so although it has the highest population does it really warrant being closed? I doubt it... Must be some underlying reason.

Maybe this is NC's way of "balancing the power" :eek:

i rather think NC's decision to close transfers for a while would be to limit how fast each server shrinks/grows, in order to maintain a stable economy for all servers and to make less work for the people who DO the transferring - making for a shorter downtime.

That could be, perhaps there was a bit of a "flood" of people leaving Luna or Franz for Teon so they wanted to limit it so those 2 servers don't collapse. That's usin' your noodle Spudnik! LOL

Perhaps I wasn't aware of that fact and you are more worried about being crude to me than informing me of that fact? Jeez... Rude, party of 1.

And PS - I just looked on the Server Transfer information page and it doesn't say anything about a limit per week, it says -- "If a server's capacity is reached, that server will be removed from the list of available server transfer options."

So what is the capacity, they want all servers to remain on light to normal populations???

Regarding the Teon server transfers, they did not become unavailable last week because of a maximum server population, but rather because we can only manage 40 transfers per server each week. The 40 slots in the queue were filled up, making further requests unavailable. The queue should have been reset with this morning's maintenance.

I didn't know it was a competiton? And I still wasn't aware of that 40 limit before today... Not sure why it's common practice to be rude to people LOL
