Come take a look at the new and improved Lineage II website (http://www.lineage2.com/) front page! We've revamped it to make it more user-friendly and gave it a fresh new appearance!
This is a cosmetic boost in the midst of our work to update the information on the website. Stay tuned for future updates! :)
Like the top half but the rest is the same thing as before; same outlining same background colour etc, i dont see this as an improvement and if its taken this long to get that far.... it pains me to think what a complete redo would take.
I just have one idea: Change the left menu (with Home,News,Game Background, Librairy buttons) to be "floating"
I mean when you scroll down the page, the main sheet is not centered
By changing the menu to make him "floatting" the menu will stay as the top of what you are seeing, even if you scroll down the page
this is my opinion how should be arranged elements on the page
dont think that I made it because i am the best or something like this lol
I am just bored and I don't have nothing to do ^^
1) I'm not brazilian... either some1 failed at coding.. or everyone sees that.
2) The portuguese there is incorrect.. should be read: "Para OS nossos jogadores brasileiros"
3) The Database still needs update.
Speaking of which, if you haven't seen the Discover Lineage (http://www.discoverlineage2.com/en/) page, check it out! It's an interactive handbook full of lore information and has fun graphics and pictures.
"OS" has to be there.. otherwise you'll be lacking a very important sentence.. you can't translate things as-is.. "Para Nossos Jogadores Brasileiros" is also correct.. if you are talking in MSN.. not for a site, where you should use a more colloquial language.
Not to mention that it is incorrect to start a phrase with "Para".. but if we go that way.. we'll end up in a huge WoT for a small button.
Last "perfect" translation.. was on a technical book I saw.. where Copyright.. was translated as copirraite.. which doesn't mean anything(imho.. just an epic fail). Copyright = Direitos De Autor.. not even close.
No.. I don't agree with the mixing of PT-PT and PT-BR dictionaries.. but that's a discussion for another topic.
Can u explain why the word "Para" shouldnt be there? I'd like to laugh :D
And I don't care what u think or not. U should know Portugal Portguese lang is a bit diff than Brazilian Portuguese (I don't understand why our language is called portuguese anyway).
You are not brazilian, so do yourself a favor and s.t. f.u.
PS:
not for a site, where you should use a more colloquial language.
I see you wanted to mean formal language there. But I forgive you.
No.. I meant colloquial.. formal would be for presentations, etc. Slang and alikes for MSN.
You have been speaking portuguese for over 500 years.. and you will die speaking portuguese.. and don't spit on the hand that fed you. No.. I'm not brazilian.. but I have like 40 family members that we born there.. and they also share that in Brazil people murder portuguese... and are taught to hate the portuguese language.

-.-...
You meant that for a company website they should use FORMAL language, not COLLOQUIAL. Ever tried to search the meaning of those words in a dictionary? Learn your language first then try to fix other's.

You know that there are a few words in UK's english that differs from USA words don't you? You should know the same apply to portuguese, in a even bigger scale (not only words, but entire grammar).
And we don't hate portuguese language, where did u got that from? LoL.
Brazil's portuguese is on a constant change. Again, I don't know why our language is called Portuguese, because we cleary don't speak the "true Portuguese".

Heard a joke from a comedian saying portugese sounds like mentally handicapped trying to speak spanish.
i dunno though never heard portugese.. and never heard a mentally handicapped mexican speak before.

It's weird, because actually portuguese is a harder language than spanish, or even english :).
Ever wondered why english and spanish are the most common languages in the world? Yeah, that's why :D.

It'll be really good imo :)
I quote myself, because I didn't get any answers about 2 things :
1/ Could we do any suggestions about how we would like to see our website ? :D
2/ If Yes, I love my suggestion :D
The skills is still not working ...........are there other things nor working i have not really went thru everything....but i will says it is a nice change a better look...change is always a good thing ad long as you are quick to repair
You are correct, but being several years of no steps, the fact that we are now at least getting small steps is better than none :P
I would prefer none rather the attempts at resolving 6 year old issues that don't do anything but break other . And then wait another 6 years to fix that. Don't do it in a game 6 years old do it on there next masterpiece (IE Aion, but that is turning out to be a master problem as well so maybe the next try is Lineage 3?)
Well the site was updated more recently than 6 years ago; however, I understand the point you're making about the lack of recent information found on the official site.
Also, there was a "Fan Site Kit" on the official site before that had images and things people could use to make their own L2 fan site... If you feel that strongly about the information missing on the site I would recommend creating your own.
What I don't understand is why there are websites like http://lineage2.rochand.com/ that have all the information up and our webmasters don't use it. It's not like Rochand.com owns the rights to the information... it technically is the intellectual property of NCSoft/NC-NA. I realize there are lawsuits on the books about gaming company's not paying out prizes or for work done properly and getting sued but simply running a "best fan website" contest or preparing a "payment" settlement to whoever does rochand.com in game-time can be done. It seems much more time efficient and just down right more intelligent to use work that's already been done (so long as proper credit is given to those who've done it).
And as far as Aion turning out to be a "master problem" as you put it -- is anyone shocked? LOL I not only could've told everyone that would have happened but I'm quite sure I actually did call it the first week they announced the game XD
The faces on the front line of NC-NA have changed but many of the people up top are the same, they lack discipline and proper knowledge of how a community team works. The community teams get the brunt of their managements shortcomings because they're on the front line (hence the high turnover). NC-NA management (above the community department, like from the supervisor of the CM and up) simply has no idea how to run a community department. I don't know exactly how it works at NC-NA anymore but there must be restrictions on what the Community Manager and other support can do in game, otherwise there's no logical explanation why things don't get done. My guess is it's very bureaucratic.

Wow I'm rambling. Ok, /end. :)
I do have my own site. IM me your requested login and I will give you access. I'm selfish I only share with clannies. I may take awhile to add you as I'm dealing with white screens and your request might take a while to filter through all the forum violation emails as well. Thanks!
Please tell to the ppl or who is managing the changes to make them compatible with webkits, not everyone use IE8 and in few years that will be probably something from the past, so please make the page full browser friendly.
PS: The menus are still hummm... needing a lot of work they are hell ugly unless on IE they look better but i dont use sutch lame browser...
Ok, now I am usually one to sympathize with the time it takes to get things designed and fulfilled, and also the time it takes to get all the designs, plans, work paths, etc through a corporation, but now I am just fed up. There is no reason why this site's content shouldn't be updated, its simple DB updates with each major patch, I am sure if no one else wants to do the grunt work you could hire 2 temps for a week at $5 an hr and have it done for when the new patch goes live. Heck, I am sure you could give any player a spreadsheet and a week on PTS and have it done many times over! All that being said, yeah the new home page is fine, just fix the **** content already, that is what we really care about, oh yeah, and I want server status back.
