Time Cards at Best Buy

So I wandered into Best Buy last night to see if they had anything I wanted to buy (they didn't) but while there, I figured I would look to see if they had any PlayNC timecards.

After a bit of searching, I found where they keep them, but was a bit surprised by what they were offering.

Instead of the normal NCSoft branded card (the ones we all know and love in the little DVD case) they had these special scratch off card things made specifically for Best Buy by a company called FastCard (http://www.fastcard.com/home.html).

They had 2 types relating to NCSoft games, one 30 day card for City of Heroes that came with a special ingame item, and a 30 day card for Aion.

Now I know in the past that the mantra on time cards is that if its a PlayNC card, regardless of the game listed on the front, it will work for any other NCSoft game.

Is this still true of these weird cards? I am just nervous to buy one and then be SOL when I find out these are a different animal than a true PlayNC time card, and that they could actually be locked into the specific game (as is stated on the back of these fastcard ones.)

Any opinion from NCSoft staff pretty please? Or perhaps someone here on the boards that has used one of these with success and/or failure?
Buy official cards from normal shops, else either use YOUR credit card or a paysafe card to renew your account!!! This will probably will be the answer you will get by any staff of NCSOFT and its probably the best for you!!
the Play NC cards work for all PlayNC games, the Fast cards i cannot guarantee.

best bet is to head to Gamestop, ask for an NCsoft timecard. those ones work with ALL NC Games (i know by experience... )

Best Buy is actually a recommended NCsoft retailer :S http://us.ncsoft.com/en/gamecard/
they used to sell timecards, yeah. now you can go directly to their staff, ask for an NCSoft timecard and will present you with a WOW one.

you cant buy them from Bestbuy webbie either, except on RARE occasions.
Yeah, I know what they normally look like, I have bought oodles. My local Gamestop was out, so figured I would ask about these.

Guess I won't get a staff response till next week, grr.

Last time I attempted to purchase any NCSoft timecard at Gamestop they stated they were requested to stop selling them in there stores per the developer meaning NCSoft.
Sace/Moxie? Answer please?

I'm in agreement here with Mardonius. Was told the same thing from a "manager" at Best Buy that they were told to stop selling NC Universal Cards in there stores "at the request of the developer" and to remove cards from the shelf.
That would explain why the old cards are no longer there, but doesn't address the question I asked per se.

I am still hoping to hear a response from our NCSoft staff regarding my initial question.
We're looking into this :)
Awesome, thanks Sace :)
I get from Gamestop the time cards from fastcard and they say 60 day game card for Lineage2, City of Heroes and Aion. They are a scratch card and have a pic of a toon from each game.
I'll bet they are interchangable just like the PlayNC cards then. I'll wait for Sace to finish looking into it.

So maybe that means NCSoft just stopped making their own cards and subbed it out to this fastcard company or something.
