Yes, you would need to create a Twitter account to able to "follow" us.
Actually, that's not what Leonidar was asking about, and that's not the correct answer. You can subscribe to the RSS feed on twitter.com as well instead of "following" you and get the updates; this can be done without an account and anonymously.

How come you guys are focusing on yet another out of game median to reach l2 players? How about you focus your scope on the players playing the game lol.
How come you stopped that tour when you came in game on servers to talk to players before even visiting all of them? I don't think it is very far fetched to say that most active l2 players at the time the codes were given out were busy doing olympiad, exping or other things at the time those codes were given out. Why would they wanna be on twitter? If you had announced those codes ingame rather than on twitter I am sure it would have reached a lot more people and most likely it would be appreciated by far more people.
Using the official website, the official forums, facebook and now twitter to make certain announcements just seems confusing and redundant =/. Most clans have a section for ncsoft news as well just because so many people want their source of information in one place. Please stick to one channel of information for the sake of the players. You can have detailed new updates here on the forums, a short summary + link to forums on the main page. And if you want to have any special events like this, put them in the game that they are actually intended for and maybe you'll get more appreciation from all the players, not just the people who sit and watch these forums instead of playing.
Actually we did hop onto a live server and chat with players on Monday, and we plan to do that much more in the near future. We gave out GM buffs and encouraged people to join these message boards.
One of the reasons that we are encouraging other forms of media contact is because the forums are the best tool we have to find out what the players like, dislike and want, but many players don't know them or use them. Using Facebook, Myspace (new page!), and Twitter is a way to reach players that may want community-staff presence outside of the game as well, and we often redirect them to the boards.
Of course not everyone like these forms of media, and you don't have to use them to be able to give your feedback!
Well, I'm glad you make in game appearances again and I hope it becomes a common thing, the next step being GMs providing more "in-person" assistance, maybe do like spam and appear as a little bunny chasing people around.
One of the things I know was highly appreciated was gm assistance during serious attempts at raid bosses that are often very glitchy at the start. In the past members of the staff would come with and monitor raids, help people who crit error get back etc. Since the addition of hellbound which was incredibly buggy this stopped though. With plenty of new areas and bosses coming in the Freya update I am sure you can make a lot of people happy by being there.
I imagine actually being there experiencing these things first hand must be more valuable than 2nd or even third hand feedback ;)
The only time I have seen a live GM is when I saw the update on facebook months ago saying u were going to be on another server and i logged in a lvl 1 to come visit lol
Never saw another update after that .. but was told u were gonna announce a visit to sayha :( and i never saw it.
I saw them at castle sieges back in the old days...when we were trying to take castles from the NPCs and when you had full % loss for deaths on siege grounds. More than once I would delevel two times while at a siege, but I'm off topic, aren't I?
I see the Message Board as a "pull"-medium, I have to log on to the boards, browse the new stuff, and so on... And twitter is for me a "push"-medium (as for me the newsletter is), you get the news directly delivered to you, without doing anything. And now you can see that these two mediums are not able to replace each other, in fact they can live happily alongside.
A good example: I follow the german Community Coordinator for Aion on twitter, although I don't play Aion nor visit the website, I have a quite good knowledge about what's going on in Aion, that the maintenance on XX.XX.XXXX took a little bit longer, that some lag issues are resovled, and what the goodies for the Valentine Event are. I really like that, and I would really like to see this flow of information on the L2 twitter accounts.
Go to the Twitter account and highlight and copy (Ctrl + C) the code. Then go to your NCsoft account through the NCsoft website, login in, and click on Use a Serial Code. In the Serial Code box, paste (Ctrl + V) the code and click on Continue. :)
