3rd parties ???? like not people who play the game there are company's now that sell Adena what is that about!
I didn't quit get that ArbuntRector. But a year back the President of NCsoft NA said flat out that he does this in other games just not his own. So hmmmm I'm confused

3rd party people meaning people that do not play the game and just make adena out of nothing its magic folks magic!

Play legit, play safe. :)
Are you subtly implying that this was not the way it always was?
Make changes to game so players can earn what every update brings by hunt/q/raid
people wouldnt pay real money if they could make adena in game.
This is quite true. Presently, its actually quite difficult to make any decent adena in the game due to the 'sanity-requirement' to always use SSA/SSS etc while leveling; when coupled with not being able to leave your PC on all night to sell things in a player shop, it makes for a paupers lifestyle.
Gosh so little people react on this hot topic. Ok well, imo you need to make more complicated quests with lots of adena to earn or weapons that you can't easily get otherwise. At least legit players will have equal changes.
With complicated quests I dont mean kill marsh stakatos there and kill marsh stakatos here... use some imagination.
Probably NC changed the probability for drops to make it more difficult, but you reach the opposite goal if you did that. For a bot it doesn't matter if the probably is 1 in 10000 or 1 in 100. For a legit player it will encourage him to go to the dark side :D
Think it is all a bit stupid, do you play monopoly without rules? no pain no gain

Yes, it is very difficult to leave your toon to sell, NC will automatically disconnect you. Imo they should at least make some form of selling while offline. Doesnt have to be auction, can be a place where put your good at your price.
3rd party people meaning people that do not play the game and just make adena out of nothing its magic folks magic!
3rd party means anyone not directly mentioned in the contract between 2 parties: you and NCsoft.
And you don't need to "make adena out of nothing"; you can buy it from players for, say, 5c/mil, and resell for 20.
I'm a legit casual gamer (I play about 10h a week).
But I've never had any Adenas problem, for I always buy and sell as soon as I don't play. And as I don't play a lot, I earn "a lot" (I mean "more than I need").
But I'm agree :
- leaving the PC turned on 24h/24 7/7 is not my best idea to save our planet ;)
- if I get disconnected 5 min after I'm gone, I won't sell/buy anything... but my PC is still on.
I'd like to see an in game way to buy/sell while you're disconnected from the game. It would help everybody to make in game money, and to save real money (electricity).
Maybe an extension of the (useless) Dwarven skill "Summon Merchant Golem" : a Golem that would buy and/or sell YOUR stuff and would stay in game for ~24h even if you get disconnected.
Not at all, it has always been this way. :) Hence the "friendly reminder" and the "we will continue."
So does this mean any time i send mail between my different accounts, it could potentially be tagged in this instance? I have heard of people being suspended for this when it obviously was just a case of transfering 400m from your main to your trader ect to purchase items in Giran.
I guess my question is how can we be assured there is no risk in using the mail system when the current method appears to be shoot first, ask questions later.

Everyone tells me don't transfer more than 200kk because it will give you an automatic ban... don't know if it is true, but I wont try. And yeah, I may want to give a friend such an amount to buy his/her dream armor...
This post is the GM's second such post on this matter, if you kids haven't noticed. The Know thy Clan post was the 1st. They are cracking down on all the players who shouldn't be playing becuase the game is to hard for them to play ,and also to get ready for that server merge a lot of the players wanted. By getting rid of all the players who shouldn't be playing this game maybe it helps clean up the LAG issue and other real issues with the game.
They don't want you to fear them. They want you to laugh at them ,so when you get caught they can laugh at you and say they told ya it was gonna happen. After you ban these kids and sorry adult's who are doing this. Completely wipe out thier acct, so we don't get another Frankee issue when it's time for server merges.
It should already be a NCSOFT protocol that any acct that get's a permanent ban be wiped from the system. If it isn't yet then make it so it is. This way you won't have banned accts hitting ebay and players harassing you to get the banned s85 acct unbanned so they can play it.
All you players that are doing it, when you cheat in this way.
Everyone tells me don't transfer more than 200kk because it will give you an automatic ban... don't know if it is true, but I wont try. And yeah, I may want to give a friend such an amount to buy his/her dream armor...
I want to know to know the firm logical reason of getting a ban simply on the amount of money being moved from one player to another. Means absolutely nothing and there is no proof in the fact real money ever changed hands.

110% true!!
A casual player cannot have adena, and the quests are not worthy because the rewards are simple not that great.
If the quest rewards will be better, the game will be balanced because more people will do them. I met people that the only quests they did was the class change quests and that was it. Don't ask me how, why , what, they did to level up and have top weapon and armor. I have no clue.
If you can get a ban for mailing valuables over a certain amount to another toon, I am sooooooooo banned.
I just bought a large amount of S Gems with my "seller toon" and mailed them to my main to get a SA applied when BS Mammon returns next week.
Got the adena by selling drops, dino pets, shots, crafted items etc... I guess I might as well not bother logging in again...
Your safe becuase they will check the game logs and use that and other means of checking things, to get those that are buying game money with real money.
Best option now is to make 1 wh for all the toons of the same acct. This way when all of us legit players need to transfer money from 1 toon to another. We just dump it in the wh and logg in the toon who needs it and take the adena out of our own wh. This way no legit player would ever need to worry about transferring their own money from 1 toon to another and having a possible ban from it. Sending money to a friend though through the mail is something a bit harder to watch.
It's really sad that a lot of our fellow players are this immature, that we need these reminders in and out of the game, and that they make legit mature players worry about being banned for sending money to their own toons. Hope they feel good about themselves and love having no respect from all of the mature players who play this game.
NcSoft could push the adena demand down by reworking some simple game features.
1) Fix the manor so that you don't need a 3rd party program script to use it.
2) Lower the price of spirit ore and soul ore from the npc.
3) Reduce the price of certain items from mammon. Namely the gems and crystals, which are absurdly expensive compared to the adena and seal stone drop amounts.
The above will make it so people can actually make a small gain while xping and craft items for a reasonable price. Not holding my breathe for this to happen, but just pointing out that there are alternatives to the ban hammer in trying to quell the RMT market.

If you have to use 3rd party software of any kind in lineage 2 ,then you should get a permanent acct ban for all your accts and a complete acct wipe out. It's all i'm gonna say about it cuz the game must be too hard ,for those players that resort to these types of actions to be honest.

The base of L2 is selling/trading,from common players to castle leaders.
It is stinky if gms find some toons who are trading billions every week for some time but that's all.
In my opinion they could stop real money trading at once by making changes into game.
They should fix the mobs drop/spoil rate, halph or more of L2 population didnt start this game but recently(like 2 years ago) they cant have endless mats and adena from raiding with 10 alts to replace the damage of 4-5 failures on crafting.Their way to face that is bot for mats-ebay to buy the item or start quiting from game.
Events which would give us top rewards(according to the chronicle we were playing)are unknown to us.Instead we had all these crappy events with d/c stuff and things we couldnt sell.
Economy right now is so bad in europe i wonder how many players would spend more money than the monthly fee to play L2(plus internet connection/ or netkafe bills)if they could make adena by playing.
Let's hope the valentine quest is a sign they will put in game more of the things koreans were having all these years.

Not the point ... players shouldn't feel harrassed if they prefer to give there in game GF honey a couple of mil here and there for IRL favors

Ya superstar I don't use 3rd party programs, but I'm also not delusional enough to think that using it for the manor, in order to beat the bots, is some prima facie indication that the person is bad at this game.
I'd like to see you log in and do the manor right now with the way it is set up.
Sorry Atarth but that won't stop it once and for all unless they make game guard actually do something. Immature people will always find ways to cheat to win, but will always fail in the end. To stop it once and for all would take a miracle ,that people all over the world decided to pull their heads out and act mature. That won't happen anytime soon.

Easy cuz I've got friends that have done it without 3rd party chicken ****. So if i really wanted to screw with the botted up manor system, then i'd go re read all the tips they gave me and start getting the system they used down. It's not that hard and sorry if you really have to use 3rd party chicken **** to play the game then you're not a good player.

 "Friends" huh. I'm sure their script is pr0. Come back and talk to me when you have a fraps of you doing it.
yes, buying is not allowed, but NC have no way to find out if it was bought
I've heard rumors of ppl getting banned after buying adena. Maybe there isn't a way to track an individual adena, but you can monitor the adena farmers and see who exactly they are trading too.
Seeing logs that say player "adi0dnh" traded 500m to player "johndoe", I would have to assume that is probably some RMT going on.

They wouldn't be my friends if it was some immature 3rd party script. Atomic clock and timing the click just right always beats a bot. What is this fraps word? I'm American so do you mean you need a video of me playing legit lol with a toon name like that your not worthy of my time kiddo.

You talk about maturity and yet use phrases like chicken **** and kiddo. FYI I'm probably older than you, and I don't rant about what everyone else is doing. It's a sign of immaturity and lack of self esteem when you rail about what everyone else in the world is doing wrong.
Oh and about the "I'm American part"... You want a cookie? I'm born and raised in New York, though I can't for the life of me see what one's nationality has to do with this topic.
My thinkinks about are why is it not possible to make a shop while OFFLINE? This is the best Option to keep your Buying/selling system.
I said this becasue so we all can save energie ! And a computer that run the whole day evry year need many energy!
And the other reason is now you banning manny bots --- thats good but now there are the prices on the sever wicked because there a not really many shops there ....
I read about illegal sever there are offline store is possible why not on a legal sever?( I never played on such thing just read about it)

So you mean atomic clock helps you setup sales and press sell faster than the bots can?
Since the exact time that manor resets is the only time you can set up the sales and only then, can't set up in advance as before.
I'd like to see you do that in less than half a second as that is how fast the bots clean out the manors.
How about fixing the 7 signs. Where we can't sell seal stones and Ancient Adena that can be turned into an RMT transaction without our Knowledge. For example we sell to an afk shop that is tied to Adena sellers, and then they turn around and convert the seal stones and AA to adena and sell that as a RMT transaction.
The 7 signs and the AA,seal stone market, is something that needs to really get looked at in order to try and fix this mess.
If your gonna worry about my stupid posts go make your own thread. This is about RMT's being bad so let's get back on topic.

There's a lot of personal attacks, insults and flaming going on in here (well, not anymore since I moderated it). Please keep it friendly and on topic :)
Sace,
I think this is a good thing you are doing on the whole. Your main issue is that it has been 5 years / going on 6 years where this has not been happening enough. The true cheats are so far ahead now, it really does not matter any more to them..
Some players do bring up good points in that it is hard for casual players to keep going without some change in the game mechanics or drop rates or quests.
It is all in all, the design of the game that is forcing so many people to use outside sources for income streams and while you may be able to clean some of this up, I think it has to be very hard when the long time players who are quitting are now selling their adena also for RWM.
I wish you luck, but I somewhat feel that adena is the least of all the cheats that should be fixed. First and formost should be the the players that botted up so far, that when you do the math, there is no way a human could have ever gotten there without cheating.

:)
Pretty much spot on , the botter's that are already 85/80/80/80 , with 22 Alt's the same lvl are a bulk of the Adena seller's as well , ban the botter's and most of it to all of it is solved.
Well,IMO, this adena buying/selling is the fault of NC Soft and here is why...If NC Soft made it easier to get drops (not common items), such as quests (and i dont mean a 1 week quest) or made mobs drop more adena or maybe control the amount any item could be sold for... the adena farmers would be put out of work. Since they dont we all have to put up with the dang botters. As for non-farmers, they need to do more to to stop the players from Botting period (such as run a "bullet" through the server like they did in Diablo 2) but no..they make it our responsibility to report (and we all know nothing gets done about it [i know cuz i have been playing for over 5 years now and i still see the same ppl in game after i have reported] and it is not fair to us who play legitly. I have also noticed that they limit how many times you can report from the same IP address (it's like they dont want to be bothered, again this is not fair to the ppl who play legitly) Lately, i have been thinking on quitting the game cuz i cannot get anywhere ( i cant even afford to port from town to town, much less buy shots and pots i need  and i play every single day and have for over 5 years) As for buying/selling in shop mode, i agree they need to have a way that you can buy/sell while offline (maybe an auction house or something like it. Oh back to the botting for a sec, NC Soft needs to Employ ppl to play the game and if they did, they would see as plainly as anyone who plays what a bot looks like when a party or even a solo botter are botting. I am sick and tired of not being able to lvl in an area where there are botters running cuz they kill so quickly i cant get but maybe 1 or 2 mobs  (yes, i could kill or train the botters myself but then up goes my Karma and chance of dropping my VERY HARD "Earned" items). I really hope NC Soft takes the time to read these post and just maybe they would see how many of us are aggrevated by what is going on. Well thats my say on the matter, Until NC Soft does something about it...you ppl do the best ya can to have fun :)
I have played this game on and off since NACB and I can say that RMT has always been a mainstay in this game. You have RMT in all MMOs but rarely does it soak so thoroughly into the bedrock that a game it built upon like it has in L2.
The root of the problem is that L2's design makes RMT unusually rewarding. Farming the resources (commodity or currency) necessary to fund level-appropriate equipment and consumables is time consuming in the extreme. Banning the adena farmers (or adena buyers) amounts to chasing the tail when instead of cutting the snake off at the head.
The solution I think, and I've thought this for years, is to significantly increase drop (and spoil) rates* and rearrange drop tables for materials and consumables. NOT full item drop rates (this will only discourage crafting), and NOT adena drop rates (this will only create inflation, reduce the value of your adenas, by pumping a lot more into the system -- in fact, adena drop rate maybe should be decreased). The idea is to give players the commodity resources necessary to craft their own equipment and consumables like soulshot so that RMT isn't as tempting or rewarding (note that as a side benefit, if RMT transactions are significanly reduced then it becomes much less workload for the admin team to find and ban those who do participate in it -- also trial accounts could become trade-enabled to increase flow of the newbie faucet).
*An alternative to this would be to reduce the material requirements for recipes which would basically have the same effect.
- Item key materials should drop from level-appropriate mobs. For example, A-grade item parts should drop from A-grade (or even B-grade) level mobs. That way we can farm the items we need for the next grade while we level up, rather than, say, hitting 76 and looking to buy an Arcana Mace (or recipe and key mats) from the market rather than farming the materials yourself and crafting one.
- Item recipes need to be reworked. 1, they should not be consumed in the crafting process. 2, 100% recipes should always be an option (<100% recipes can remain but are more for market-focused players to turn a profit than for players who need to use the equipment). 3, Warsmiths should be able to register significantly more recipes than they currently do.
- By increasing material drop rates, you will move L2's economy more towards being commodity-based than currency-based which will place greater emphasis on trade. A commodity-based L2 economy will not be happy with the current state of buy/sell shops. This has always been a complaint of mine, that I have to leave a bloated L2 client on 24/7 to buy or sell anything (not to mention my desktop computer has a 1000W power supply and my electric bill sucks as it is), and that there are no in-game market tools to research the cost of goods (so players have to resort to 3rd party websites and applications like l2wh.com). The L2 dev team should take a long hard look at the market tools and economy of EVE online.
The point is that L2's economy is hindered by a shortage of crafting materials that players use to fund their characters. These resources are difficult enough to require that purchasing adena on Ebay (or whereever) becomes a no-brainer for so many (spend a few bucks on adena and shave months to years off the grind that prevents me from participating in end-game with everyone else?, gee let me think). Not a problem for the admin team to root out and ban those if only a few do it, but in L2 this mindset (again, 99% driven by L2's design) reached epidemic levels years ago and has fundamentally altered the course of the game.
Again, it's time to cut the snake off at the head through design rather than chasing the tail with the banhammer. And the sooner the better, I don't get the feeling that L2's population is growing...
I completely agree...crafting should be easier...we always tried to go for crafting. It is quite impossible because we can't get the recipes and you need two of them, with a drop rate of 1 in 1000 it is quite impossible if you want to do something else in your life also. Not to mention they are 60% and your hard to get recipes fail...
biggest problem regarding crafting is that the base mats drops from mobs higer than the lvl required to use the items
B grade mats should drop from 52 or lower mobs, NOT 60+ mobs
biggest problem regarding crafting is that the base mats drops from mobs higer than the lvl required to use the items
B grade mats should drop from 52 or lower mobs, NOT 60+ mobs
76+ mobs dropping A grade is just fail
80+mobs dropping a grade is what?
If they changed drop rate into x2 and spoil into x3 the game's economy could function without any 3d programms help.Spoilers are usefull only to bot as it is now,a player should be able always to make an alt spoiler to get his mats by hunting 2 hours per day and pro-spoilers should be wanted in clans and partys for their spoil.New players would love the game since they could do so many things, play their main, make a dorf to start making money, collect what is needed to craft their a grade, start playing the market, giran could have life if people on lower lvls had mats to sell.
As for 3d party programms used into pvp, someone can explain me why nscoft keeps adding more skills to daggers? On the end we will all have to find a 3d party program who detects daggers on hide, daggers on dublicate like they are beleth or something.
Can i have an answer why they do that?As the only actions a legit player can make are
-always to die
-dont pvp
-dont play oly
this will lead into servers that
-all top clans members will be banned for 3d(since they cant pvp an invisible enemy or his clones in any other way)
-banned members always bot more than 2 toons,so they will continue with some alt and bot a new one, banned and bot again untill they get sick of it and quit.
-the legit people will have to stay without clan (or join small clans)untill they hit 85,since they cant face daggers 81+.
-legit people entering a top clan on 85lvl will never get clan help, they will be poorely geared since old clan members lost their epics on bans and need to take more to gear the new botted toons.
-all people will bot more daggers.
-all servers will be like ''ghost servers'' with the remaining of population crying about not getting anything new from Freya, but how to get it when there will be no clans left to fight the new boosted bosses.(recently there were fails on frintezza, which was one of the everydaytodo bosses,sod/soi dont open cause all clans have halph of their members banned ).

And the sooner the better, I don't get the feeling that L2's population is growing...

yes I think I pretty much summarized it: he proposes to make crafter more easy = more fun. Recipes A-grade when you don't need it in S-grade with a odd of 1 in 2000 or more is not very nice.
Hell yes I read it and thought it was one of the best posts / thought out ideas on this issue to date.
The programmers have changed almost all aspects of the game except this problem. Long ago, it made sense to have A level mops drop B level stuff, since no one was at armor / weapon level to exp level at that point. Now, it is backwards with so few new players and most everyone working on their Subs, etc.
The opening up of the amount of adena for sales also contributed to the needs now of having more stuff available to the average player at their level. An increase of the base mats would be wonderful as a beginning, even a double of the base mats alone would be a wonderful start.

Way how you posts answers are amazing.
I notice that only one thing you do is a copy whole post and add comment at bottom like:
- too much text
- check spelling
- isn't it?
- really?
- etc.
In fact Infomorph put nice idea how decrease / minimize existence of RTM in Lineage.
His suggestions could result to remove reason for e-baying instead of fight with result.
And please don't replay with text: is he? or am I?

There is NO change int he current market situtation. It is as it has been for well over a year if not more like 3 years.
The changes in the game listed have never been done or tried so the two have little to do with each other and your comment.
The whole thread is based on the title RMT is bad.
Since we have NcSoft being so late to the game and the facts of the 6 years of game activity is where we are, the person was trying to find a fix along with the bans to try and get this game back up and going.
Your comments did little if anything to further either of those paths.

Depends on if you think 6 lines of your writing means anything whatsoever.
The point is that to combat RMT you have to take the wind out of its sails. I will put cynacism aside and make the assumption that the admin team honestly intends to reduce (or even eliminate) RMT.
Let's differentiate between the different types of RMT, in L2 they exist in basically three types (as I understand): Account trading, powerleveling, and adena purchasing.
Realistically (aka minus a complete overhaul of L2's game mechanics), account trading and powerleveling can only be fought through bans/suspensions/other direct GM intervention (and from here out i will use "adena purchasing" and "RMTing" interchangably). Adena buying and selling can and should be combated through design... My argument is that these design changes can be made without sacrificing the integrity, vision or direction of L2 as a virtual world.
Before we consider RMT-preventive design, we first must understand why people resort to purchasing adena. Assume that availability is not an obstacle (which it isn't). It's obvious that players RMT to fund their characters, and an overabundance of RMTing (which has been the case since L2's formal launch) means that an overabundant number of players feel their characters are insufficiently funded.
That said, we can break down the motivation for RMTing into two categories (of which there is some overlap): 1, RMTing for competitive equality. 2, RMTing for competitive advantage. (There's also a third type which is RMTing for aesthetics, ie hair items, but since it has no meaning to gameplay I will ignore it).
RMTing for competitive equality means that these players RMT just to keep their head above water. For example, they need soulshot to kill mobs at a reasonable pace*. At Lv61, they need A-grade equipment to kill higher mobs. These players RMT just to get by.
*This is driven by social/player expectations. L2 has a notoriously difficult grind and soulshot spamming has been the assumed cost of XPing since at least C2.
RMTing for competitive advantage means that these players RMT to get the upper hand. RMTing to afford ridiculously powerful overenchants, life stone bonuses, etc. These players have the mindset of, whoever has the biggest credit limit wins.
It is my opinion that RMTing for competitive equality should not exist, yet the bread and butter of RMT sales exist to support these players. RMTers for competitive advantage can really only be combated by bans anyways.
But it is my argument that a game's design should never encourage or perpetuate RMTing for competitive equality. And it is the L2 dev team's complete disregard for this idea that is and has been (for years) feeding the cancer that is adena farming. And it needs to stop. But, like I said, without sacrificing the integrity of L2 as a game world (the L2 "feel" must be preserved). The only question is how!
Before we consider RMT-preventive design, we first must understand why people resort to purchasing adena.
Because they (1)want to make shortcuts, (2)have a budget for it and (3)don't expect to be punished. That's it.

L2 is a grind game. There is a grind for levels, and there is a grind for wealth. You need to master both aspects to be competitive, and if you need to cheat in one, there is no reason to believe that you wouldn't cheat in another if it were as easy and as apparently safe.
But it is my argument that a game's design should never encourage or perpetuate RMTing for competitive equality.
It's impossible to achieve unless you have no ingame economy at all. People even buy WoW gold! As long as they have (1), (2) and (3), they will cheat.
L2 korea dosent need to RMT since they get GOOD events
events where they get items to sell or use (S80 gear any1?)
and what about the "event" that we all can look at (cubic thingies), but wich we most likely never will get
Korea even got NCcoins
all we get is vitality events, sure its easy to lvl, but u get no income, i mostly go even = no cash to get better gear

This really is a lot of text. I agreed with your last posts, bored to read this one :) Also I don't think anybody with any decision power will ever read any of these posts and if they are this long the probability is even smaller.
Personally I would like Sace or any NCSofters to for once participate in the discussion. It is nice, because we will know someone actually read any of these good ideas after 6 years.
Like people that say they are banned, can't Sace for once say look we noticed this, we tested you, game guard detected you using 3rd party. Defend your game for once! then it won't feel like talking to a wall...
Maybe if there were live gms actually watching the servers and checking the Petitions and Reports about it. they just might be able to do a lil bit..maybe!
Seriously, they really need to remake the crafting systems, if i can gather the mats in a reasonable amount of time and be actually able to get recs, everyone remembers the Damascus Sword rec, and the Majestic robe rec to name a few, i would be more inclined to craft my items. And Blue Wolf mats in Silent Valley...

Funny thing is that NC already did it ... but there is huge gap.
Recently I have a feeling is much easier to craft S80 than normal S grade.
To get S garde mats I need to go HB or Pagan Darkness (Spoil them)
Mobs are there preatty hard especially for 75/76 who want S grade (HB impossible!)
In same time as 78 lvl in new DoE/first rooms of GC I can duo S80 mats.
Doing quest in Dino I can easily farm rec.
Same time getting rec from Pagan or Ketra/Varka or HB quest is like joke.
I don't know how now is with accessibility of A grade rec but I remember zilions of hours spend to make ToI / GC quest to find some useless reward instead helm Rec :D
Conclusion - NC please review drop rate and let 7x ppl to farm rec and materials same easy like S80 are possible now.
That plus general increase of drop rate of basic mats would result in decrees of RTM (or do manor more user friendly or review material consumption like it was done in S80)
Lineage 2 needs to be easier, it's not fun if the game consider as a second job! (other than the 7 hours that I have to make a living)
Of topic: Don't know why I even participate in this forum, its like NCSofts blackhole for difficult questions imo...
On topic: personally I dont believe the game is so difficult that RMT is needed and if I start believing that then I will pick another game. People forget it is just a game, if you use RMT you drive up the prices and only the RMT people profit:
Prices go up, your effort stays the same or you have to spend even more real money.
It is truly damaging to the game as people get disappointed and sad (legit) and stop or people get quickly bored (real money buyers)...
I dont get why everyone cry about "L2 needs to get easier" .. i remember times when u hit lvl 75 in C grade ( if u had B u was a top player ) and now ppl cry if they cant afford TOP a right away when they hit 61 , S-grade right away when they hit 76 , dynasty right away when they hit 80 etc etc ...
Come on , crafting has become so much easier , making armors and weapons is easier then ever .. what more u want? Do u want nc soft to create "npcs" which will invite u to an party right after u log in, so u cant complain u never find a grp? Go play WOW if the game as it is now is still to hard for u
the game isnt to hard, there is just to few ppl around making it harder than it should be
not much have changed since release, except for the vitality
making it easier to earn money wouldnt stop the money trading, but it would slow it down a lot
Well with the vitality system you can earn levels faster than you can earn adena to buy equipment...........so it does put a strain on ppl......
Yea, people fast track to 40 and go to giran shop to get a C wpn and you can almost hear their brain crack lol. then suddenly they're at B grade and still can't affrod a real C wep, A grade grind is a bit slower I guess but it still comes out of nowhere.
NC made it a lot easier to get levels, but didn't make it any easier to get adena, and it shows more and more as you level.
Common items were a fairly good idea, but it doesn't last. I was just now looking at compression stones, I'm 79/40% and I'm kinda stumped about how I'm going to be able to afford this stuff lol.
Then of course I keep hearing " you just need some boss jewels and you'll be uber", not hearing very much "I'll lend you a bazillion adena for some boss jewels and you can pay me back" tho xD
I can certainly understand how some people fall into the RMT trap. Just needs to be some balance between gaining levels and makin money and we'd probably see quite a bit less of it.

Try crafting s80 weapons and get back to me. 20x tougher than S weaps.
I am quite confused about the gm/community manager stressing this message about rmt at this time...
I mean i understand that they dont like it, but didnt the korean supreme court just in the first week of january this year find in the case FOR the defendants that were being sued by ncsoft for rmt?
Im just a bit confused that the court system found that rmt was completely legal, as long as adena wasnt obtained through scamming and botting... But it seems that ncsoft is cracking down even harder on this now that the ruling came out than they ever have before...
I totally agree that many of the issues with rmt and botting itself might be solved through better development of the game for western markets... It seems that we get overlooked because of the smaller community over here, and the lack of autonomy for ncwest.
In korea they have a huge population of players which makes getting a party a LOT easier, they get events more often(even ones that give out vesper goodies) and a huge number of vitality events.
When players have questions about game mechanics, ncsoft has people who do tests and answer those questions, here we get an outdated website, we have to use 3rd party websites to find where items drop and spoil.
I can see why some people choose to cheat in a game that was not developed for the western market, one where they already feel as if they are forgotten, and unimportant to the company that develops this game. Where new players are more scarce than the +12 a grade weapon from the christmas event.
I have so much hope for this game, but it always seems i am let down... It would be nice if some of the posts about drop rates for mats and improved quest rewards were even considered, but i know that ncwest does not make/is not able to make those kinds of changes because they have to do what korea wants... It hurts when these kinds of questions are asked or suggestions made and there is absolutely no acknowledgment from the staff who moderates here.
I am not trying to be negative with my post but it seems there is a lot of negative reinforcement in this game and not many rewards, I mean i see a lot of punishment for people who cheat, but 0 rewards for doing the right thing............

Amen! try to say this all the time, its like talking to a wall really. They almost never respond and questions are send to this black hole called the forum. They think that all questions can be solved by other players or something  They are losing it in the west really, because they don't listen and especially don't act....
Listen to this irony,
This would have been nice had it been enforced 5 years ago. Now that the more legit players have left, many turn to this option to survive against the
ones who originally did this over and over again, not to mention extreme power levelling. They're only option to be able to compete was to mimic their same actions and now those people are being banned. This goes to prove that if you did it in the past, you got away with it. I personally believe this is "too little too late" Lineage 2 is on the brink of dying out. I would recommend leaving everyone alone. I dont plan on doing this stuff but I can tell you, having a botter or adena purchaser to talk to is better then no one at all. The server moderaters really did a poor job of cleaning up to begin with. How is it that blizzard can keep their servers so clean yet Lineage can be so polluted? Even a 9 year old could spot who were selling adena and doing the powerlevelling. and as I said earlier. The ones who perpetrated these "crimes" for the longest time dont need to do this anymore. They're all in the clear. So how is a person who went against this stuff for so long supposed to act when they dont want to be pushed over so easily?

Where does that "no one at all" come from?
Totally reset the economy THEN enforce. Right now, it makes no sense to police your rules. Also .. little too late?
You can't reset an economy...its like a moving freight train. You can pump in more 'supply' to balance better with the 'demand' = increasing drops in value and quantity.
I think getting rid of adena sellers is not something the players have the tools to end. I think the game system is very demanding most of the time for things that are trivial.
Let me explain what I mean. For me, something trivial is traveling through the world. Everyone does everyday lots of times, so, why charge for GK travel? And if you still want to charge, why charge THAT much? I mean, if you kill a mob and MAYBE drops money, it will drop (depends on level of course) like 8k-12k. If you check the money you spend to kill the mob (yes, SS/SPS is money) you owe the mob a few thousands adena...
When you kill a few mobs and want to go town to restock, you have to pay a bunch of money to get back where u were, etc.
I don't think anyone wants an easy game like WoW or some others (neither do I), but there are quite a few things that leads me to think this game is made so hard to level up and get adena etc because it lacks content. If everyone was 85/80/80/80 I guess there would be nothing else to do?
What about you add some tasks single and party like pailakas for every level with REAL rewards on items/exp/adena? I think pailakas are one of the best ideas NCSoft had, they have nice reward in exp + 1 item, and fun to play. In my opinion that was the way to go.
I can't play much due to my job, but I admit some times I have to stop playing until items prices go lower to avoid bankrupt. I mainly make money by fishing, AA and selling OE items, but of course it's not a reliable source of money, sometimes I end up broke.
Another thing that bothers me is the NEED for buffs on most tank exp zones. I speak for myself (ST78), but I think it applies to most classes. In my experience I needed to pay another account and raise a SE to be able to level up because without its help, I would be lost. I usually exp in catas and those mobs don't drop any buff herbs (same happens to my warlord sub - yes, I never learn lol) which makes me mandatory to have a buffer with me. This means I have to gear up 2 toons, not only one. And then again, more adena sink.
What about mobs dropping items that could be sold in shops for real benefit? Maybe if after an exp session you go to shop and actually see you get some money benefit as trade it would be nonsense to even think about buying adena? Oh and btw, what's with the need of overinflated price, I mean, get rid of 5 zeroes in every item price. Having items cost thousands of millions is really a bad symptom.
I'm not english, I hope everyone understood my opinion :)

Hello, what about you post some real and useful suggestion? I understand some people may not share my opinion but what you do in this thread is quote people and comment trying to teach people a lesson.
Everyone can post like you, I can tell you if you don't want to read this forum and what I or other players say, you can go read other stuff.
The game lacks XP quests making grinding more than needed... some xp quests would make everything nicer and less work for a machine and more work for a human. Btw, before someone says the game is grinding and if you don't like it leave:
1. Thats what most people do and now see how empty the servers are
2. Quests will be still grinding, but now with a quests, a bit more a story and sometimes a bit walking instead of core grinding. All in all it will make it less easy for bots and nicer to do for a human-being...
Imo you can just as well remove all money quests at high level, the money you get is not worth the trouble. In doesn't match the market....give xp instead... The way the money is now there simply are other better ways to get money (and yes legit)
Hello, what about you post some real and useful suggestion?
Here's the real and useful suggestion for you:
Ban the botters. Ban the adena buyers. And then the people who liked the game how it's supposed to be played (but could not stand all the cheaters running around) will return.
Al already stated, NC need to re-think the drop situation due to the introduction of Vitality.
Situation
Before vitality you had to kill maybe 200 mobs to level getting 200a per kill and had 200 chances of getting a given drop.
Now, you need to kill 100 mobs to level and you get back 250a per kill and only 100 chances to get a drop of a given item.
Considerations
There was a slight increase in the adena drop value per mob but I don't recall any specific increase in the drop rate. Players now out-level certain areas much quicker which means there are less materials and items dropping to enter the market. Same with the manor system.
With less kills required per level, less consumables are required which slightly offsets the cost vs adena gained, but I honestly don't think that it makes a difference.
Proposal
Although nothing can be done about drop rates because of the possible variations in vitality levels in a party, adena could always be made to be a straight-to-inventory item which is given in multiples of your vitality level.
Provide an option to pause your vitality and put it on hold indefinitely so that doesn't increase or decrease whilst on-line, but acts as normal when you're off-line. Allow this to be toggled on or off only once in 24 hours to ensure it's not abused.
What about mobs dropping items that could be sold in shops for real benefit? Maybe if after an exp session you go to shop and actually see you get some money benefit as trade it would be nonsense to even think about buying adena?
+1k
The game needs something like this for making some $.
For the most part, the market system sucks. Takes 4ever to sell stuff unless its a Giants Codex or Mastery Book. :(

I couldn't agree more with you. NCSoft should make non-botable content such as quests. The problem about grinding is that is repetitive and predictable and that's precisely why people program bots to do the job for them. This thing has happened since Ultima Online, but there are many games absolutly BOT-FREE. I have seen cheats in every game I've played but BOTS or very complex macro programs just in Ultima Online and here.
I also agree with VenomLady about the codexes yet I have to add you have to be able to do Olympiad to buy those and make some profit. Which means you have to be high level and noble. At least I am thankful they made it easier to get to noble.
Krissa, I think the problem goes beyond banning bots because if you ban a bot party, this guy will probably buy other accounts with another cc or whatever it takes to get the bots going again asap. I think the idea is to make changes that turns botting into something unworthy.
A lot of good ideas here. I am all for the "auction house" "off line sell shop" or whatever you want to call it. I see a lot of benefit to that.
1. Your account can be offline while you are selling.
2. You can be out XP'ing and selling at the same time
3. You will gain more vitality being off line while the "shop" is selling your gear for you.
4. Reduced lag in towns because of this.
I would like to see it too where you can put your gear in any town for sale, and it will be available in all towns, just like the wharehouse is. Same goes with getting your money from the shop. You should be able to pick up your adena in any town.

and one more thing the grind if iop drops fire stones then why i farm for 8 hours and not one drop wierd or is it just that hard to element stuff by soloing
You shouldn't have to "play the market" to make adena. I mean seriously then complaing people level to fast now and game is to easy?
NCsoft will continue to cater to normal MMO market people that play I would guess 4-6 hours a day, if you're unemployed and wan't the game harder because you have 15 hours a day to play sorry NCsoft wants $$$$$ and there are less of you :P
Although nothing can be done about drop rates because of the possible variations in vitality levels in a party, adena could always be made to be a straight-to-inventory item which is given in multiples of your vitality level.
Increasing adena drops without increasing mat drops will cause inflation.

There should be some challenges in game; market is one of them. Or what do you want from the game, "I win" button?

4-6 hours a day is a bit much for employed with family. They can run their shops the rest of the day, though :D

If you read the rest of my post you will realise that I propose that Adena drops effectively put back to normal. At the moment NC have effectively ninja-lowered adena drops by making leveling quicker.
I also think you misquoted me on that last item, I never said that.

Depends on how Koreans play. If they spend much time on their farmer alts, NC have effectively increased their adena drops.
But anyway. Increasing just adena drops without increasing mat drops will cause nothing more than inflation. Most people are S-graders now, and the only considerable adena component of S-grade stuff is in augments.

Sorry. Fixed that.
increase drops of adena, so that people can gather all that they need if not
make an "item auction per day in the shops" ex: today Monday the npc vendors from a grocery stores are in an urgent need of bones (dunno why, probably they are hungry or sometin") so the players could sell bones at the shop for let's say 10k adena a piece or whatever improvise for the next days tallum tunic pieces for xx adena a piece and so on...
change the quest rewards----> !more money, more money, without using your money!
add a system like the manor but who could give you adena for quest items, ex: a npc in town that has a conflict with a certain number of mobs from that area, so you could get the quests "kill X mobs" then you go lvl in that area you get a quest item, you trade it, you get adena in return, the next day the npc has problems with another type of monster from another area, hell you can make it 50-100 adena per item, it will help populate all the areas and it will be more fun
the possibilities are endless you just have to try or wanting to try
as for the ones that use real money to buy in game items or anything else, remember kids those aren't your toys you borrowed them and you will have to give them back one way or the other :))
ok people that work lvl better know cause of vitality but think about the drops adena drops good but mats don't. place your self at lvl 40 C grade right or better yet 61 A grade and farm up mats you can't cause all that drop at that lvl is B-grade stuff and so on game has it's up and down but how can you compare your self, a lagit player against bots and real money tradeing poeple when you can't even go out and farm up what you need at your lvl.
your a GM and u need to ss and report them ?.... i thought you guys had like magical powers to make people dissapear n stuff.
yeh i know i know must be done properly and taken through the correct channels ect ect, (so the account can be given back at a later date)
but still made me lol.
i see a lot of QQ about ppl wanting L2 to be easyer, rly ? they already made it super easy to lvl.
ok i can see now that new ppl can get 76 in like a month you only have the adena of someone thats been playing a month not 2 years like we did so maybe when your on x3 xp from vit give them x3 adena drops, bots dont have vit so thats a + for casual legits right.
as for rmt its kinda simple. just ban all the bots, do whatever it takes but do it, if these ppl keep loosing real life cash from bans they will stop.
that said imo NC only ban a few ppl now and again to keep us happy, im sure they could ban/stop botting but hey its all income isnt it.

CM <> GM. They still have to have proof for the GM team to investigate, otherwise if she became annoyed at someone on the forums she could just zap them.
I am not a GM and I can't ban anyone or even research logs. Seeing someone making white chat spam about RMT sites in a public area is a pretty obvious offense. Even so I cannot remove anyone from the game myself, so I took screenshots of the evidence and sent them to the people who can. In cases like this, screenshots are extremely helpful when emailing GMs about offenders. :)
No I'm afraid not. Chat spammers are visual evidence, and Those-Of-Whom-We-Do-Not-Speak involve a more in-depth investigation. In those cases screenshots only help get the spelling of a name right.
This has to do with the current and future decline of users playing Lineage. There has been a steady decline of activity as obviously seen over the years. This is why some servers merged rather then being half empty. Activity is extremely low now so I would prefer no one, INCLUDING my enemies get banned now regardless of what they do because it messes up my current gaming experience. I have been playing L2 for 5+ years now and trying to compete against this is futile. I have accepted I would be at the top. I would at least rather see people running around then watching people slowly dissapear and wondering if I should continue to pay my $15 a month, or face facts and quit.

However, the lack of advertising from NCsoft played its role too.

My current gaming experience is messed up by cheaters, not by "lack" of legit players (I'm currently in a legit clan that farms Tiat, btw).
What's being an ingame opponent has to do with being banned is beyond my understanding. I find the matter much simpler: if you are a cheater, welcome to ban, no matter if you position yourself as my ingame ally or as my ingame enemy.

Well lets say they ban all your enemies cause they were botting or whatever, now hes just u in your clan.. farmin tiat... what r u going to do after that?
I dont see the difference between L2 and final fantasy (not online) at this point. the only want to see pvp would be to transfer server or to split up your clan to fight them. thats what im saying. Not raising the level cap helps catch up to the botters so eventually u should be able to be equal anyway.
All im saying is if there were more people on the servers then sure ban a few that do it, problem is, its not a few, its most and at that point baning is essentially closing down another server and merging.

We don't have enemies; most of our people cannot afford it. Banning the cheaters (and thus bringing everyone to the common ground) would actually help us there.
We have some legit competition, but there is no real point in PvPing them when the cheaters can always interfere and kill the fun.
Back in the early days you could find botters... train them and then nick their equipment (which was usually crappy) but nevertheless still reasonably valuable.
Life was definitely harder for the botters back then.
