Teon, Have a clan will proberly be 61 soon... Though the way there has been slow since 54.
Hya! I got An. Sws 64 so i understand you! To be honest the only, the fastest is To party To someone or doing kamas! At lvl 61 you can do or try pala which will help To lvl a bit faster! You are not a tank, so my last advice will be focos on white/ green mobs, cause they ate easier To kill and therefore To lvl!

haha. Welcome to the enjoyable XP walls of Lineage 2 :)
I would suggest you try hunting in Enchanted Valley in the lower parts. 55-61 is always a rough patch trying to level because there are several XP walls (where xp required pretty much doubles) and the hunting spots are not the greatest.

And also, the closer u get to 61, B-grade gear just aint cutting it anymore :D
grab some tallum heavy... a bloody orchid or a nagastorm with focus if you can manage it, a shield...
get some newbie buffs... and if you can grab a buffer, SE would do...
either deep apostate or first few rooms in devotion and you'll be able to solo your brains out. keep up earth/hunter/warding/invocation and there shouldn't be a problem.
what Judas said and if you have to chose between tallum hvy set or a decent focus dagger take the dagger and keep using bw hvy as that's still a pretty ok armor with it's +3 STR
pro sws/tanks nowadays use +6 tallum hvy with high oe bo/naga storm to lvl fast to 76+ but in the old days sws would lvl fine to 75 with bw set & oe damascus focus :P

FYI
a sws with a MW tallum heavy set that isn't +6 will produce a much better overall effect, while the +6 has it's nice pdef/hp/mp regen bonus that will allow you to sing a sustained 5/6 songs, 4/5 songs with a bd vs without +6 being dropped to 4 or 2/3 with bd sustained, it becomes a bit irrelivant when the MW set increases you speed and weight limit and poison/bleed resists by a factor of nearly 2 (of the orginal set bonuses), at which point specially for a SwS where the is only about 4 songs 5 tops that really is of any benefit specially when soloing. A sws with a +6 tallum heavy set < sws with +3 MW Tallum heavy set.
ThKs for the info Judas! One thing: me stands for what?
me ? do you mean MW? That stands for MasterWork, a crafted item that has extra bonuses (of the same type as the set it belongs to). When you craft you have, I think, an 8% chance of getting the item to be MW (if the dwarf has that possibility).
They are probably way outside of your price range.
Thanks alot for all the info, just hit lvl 61 so now i'm hopping for my clan to get me geared! Hopefully they can afford a normal Tallum heavy for me proberly not MW nor a +6 set.
My Main is a SWS and is my 1st character ever in l2 , so i fully understand it being hard once u get to those lvls.
If u can get the tallum hvy ( + 0 - + 6 doesn't matter) and if possible a dagger would be cool ( yes daggers are not your typical weapon to use and you should really use a one hand and shield , but for solo and since i borrowed my weapon then i had a soul sep.) Makes songs faster and you kill faster.
I was lucky and had many parties but when i didnt i would go to fields of massacer and blazing swamp ( not great xp but at least is some xp for when u cant get parties and u will live there ! )

Tried with a common bloody orchid hunting didn't go asplanned missed alot!
a sws with a dagger won't want to fight mobs much higher then 5 lvls above ones own..
and a common bloody orchid is going to be quite week, having a dagger with an SA is basically a must if you want to do anything compared to that of a sword

I used the dagger only to test if it was worth getting a dagger for 260 mill ^^.
A really worthy point in this post is that this swordsinger is my FIRST char here on Teon!
one word will help you a lot: wolf
How will the wolf help me? be more specific please :)
Forsaken plains close to silent valley, Orc shaman, orc archer, orc captain, gargoyle etc.
around 98 accuracy with GS and 94 with BO
hmm never went out there ...
could be just the mobs are higher evasion.... it's surprising what 4 accuracy can do lol..
i just know in the catacomb/necros i rarely miss...
hell even at lvl 61 in the hero rift.... the mobs were a little tough to hit... about a 1 in 3 or 4 chance of hitting the mob generally... however the raid boss which is 78, rarely ever missed.
i personally use +5dex +4str -9 con.. cause even with that getup and tallum you still have more HP/CP at 61 then you do a BD with marginal stats for higher dex/str -con
Ok! sounds like the way 2 go, Does the +5 dex give alot of boost to the crit rate?
oh i'd say it's very noticeable
My sws with +5dex and +4 str with a +3 Nagastorm with focus has 427 crit rate and just over 800patk when just buffed with typical buffs... plus the song of hunter..
my atk speed is usually over 980, and i've seen over 1300 with full buffs/dances...
if i was to suggest... +4str +4dex and then see where that puts you
+5 Dex -5 Con is decent enough. Having -9 Con would put you at 27 Con. Which means you'll get stunned and poisoned alot more and your weight capacity gauge would decrease greatly. Having 31 Con is already pushing it. Anything below 32 Con is horrible and very vulnerable.
You don't need the +4Str. An extra 56 P.atk? I'm not sure of the actual number. I may have gone higher than what it truely is but it isn't really worth it.
Swordsingers are a support class and your P.atk is already a low number. An extra 7% isn't going to help.
If you're soloing alot, Doom heavy at Bgrade and Majestic heavy at Agrade are your best options. The lesser armors are idealistic for classes that don't get hit much. Raising a Wolf, Cougar or Buffalo might not be a bad idea either.
if you have access to VR4 (doom cryer or se bufs) then skip the +DEX and go +5 STR cause then you can lvl fast and stay alive based on the damage u do and yes +5 STR does matter then..
hell I would use a +6 plated leather set that way.. not that I had access to one in the days I was a nub sws but still it would have helped a lot..
gimping your damage output works only fine if your part of a clan or have a dd friend that always xp's with you else it's not the right way to go as you need to be able to kill mobs in a speedy way or the grind will really take forever
ultimate pve mode for a sws is +5 STR +4 DEX -9 CON but have fun restocking on soulshots every hour lol
regardless w/e works best for you ofc, I got to 85 this way without botting so it did work for me ;)

This is false... partially..
The more i test it.. and i've thoroughly tested it over long periods of time..... while STR does bump up patk.... and total power on critical hits.... the +ed Dex still is king on survivability making a killing in the speed/accuracy/atk speed/critical rate/evasion and basically effects SO many things some of which is a requirement for those who dare to use a dagger (accuracy increase). Combine that with a Tallum heavy set that isn't even a MW, and you'll have enough room to carry soulshots.
Although it's generally wise to avoid stunners as both DE and EE's are highly suseptible to stunners even with stock shots (DE's far more).... poison isn't much of any problem with the additional bonuses of the tallum heavy set.
Since VR is available all the way up until your lvl 76, it's no problem either, and since most have to replenish supplies within 1 hour including newbie buffs, that's not a big concern...
My SwS at lvl 72 i beleive unbuffed has roughly 4000hp with -9 con (technically -11 con with tallum heavy set) with +4 str (+6 with tallum set) and +5 dex
Anyone willing to try and pvp at anything below 75 sure it might be a bit of a problem, course that's if they get lucky and you don't land multiple massive nasty crits on them.
My sws with newbie buffs at lvl 55 with those same tats not only was able to take on 2 people one of which was a hero and lvl 61, but i managed to nearly kill both of them had they not an near infinite amount of CP pots and the one not managed to repeatedly slow me so they could run around and regain what they could. A fun fight (long), but one sided when it comes to those cp pots.
plus with that amount of atk speed and such, pair yourself with a BD and get some newbie buffs and you'll tear through things far faster then a BD with outclassed gear and duals.
@Judas thats quite possible true as when I was a nub sws I was wartagged to 75% of the server so going max on the minus con was never an option for me.. having said that for fast lvling purposes the pve build difference between your version and mine is 1+ STR vs 1+ DEX on top of a 4+ and in such case I really think having 1 more STR does more then having 1 more DEX ^^"
guess best way to check is by selecting your class/lvl & gear and play around with the options of L2calc (combat calculations) ?
yeah but playing with a stat calculator still only gives you numbers and stats... beyond that..... there isn't any way to really know what it's doing until you play it.
I'm all for hitting much harder if i could... but provided with the BD and the SWS and various highly enchanted and styles of weapons, i've just found that having a boost in evasion and accuracy is ALWAYS a nice thing as a single digit in accuracy can make a world of difference in some cases, and the other dex bonuses seem to from my experience testing the +5str vs +5dex ... that meer 1 point for the sws/bd class seems to be the most favorable.
Now what i have noticed where the extra STR is killer is when it comes to slower classes where they are strickly str..... such as those that use the 2 handed sword and blunts.... the dwarf and orc classes generally REALLY favor the str, daggers seem to be best with dex (those classes doesn't matter what your str is, your going to someone with a 500 crit rate and fast atk/skill recycle.)
I don't know how much AA i've spent over the past 5 or more years....lots ... just on dyes.... trying and figuring.
My bd is 79 almost 80 (oh gaud it's slow) and i'm still using the +5dex +4str -9 con.... and i rip sh it up, and can solo exceptionally well vs dark mobs with high dark resist armor equiped... Course when i had that mw tallum set.. i was stoked having 1300+ atk speed occasionally lol
well at the end game lvls & pvp you will always need a sws for songs so I would say quite a bit but key is finding a group of ppl u have fun playing with..
without defensive songs the new and even some of the old hunting areas after the changes in elemental system will be to hard for xp parties to hunt
sws are not a solo play class
not sure if this answered your questions but if your playing on Teon feel free to give me an ingame pm
songs don't seem to help in general solo pve, but they help a lot in Aoe parties, and for raids, and pvp as mentioned above.
some things that have a huge effect are defensive +30% m.def ans p.def, song of vitality makes Tanks and Titans very scary oponents...
as for Hunter? i love hunter, don't know if it works as well in pvp for normal low crit rate classes, but it helps for daggers, and Archers a whole lot.
at 76+ you get some great songs which further help...
other songs? i don't know how well they are, song of life i find pretty useles, heals what? 400 hp over 2 minutes while sitting?
song of invocation and flame guard might be ok in certain situations... might be one to drop for mp saving purposes...
i am using a BO focus at the moment, Kesh*Kesh duals, and Tallum Glaive.
pretty much the Duals i switch to when i just can't hit the target...
the orchad works fine in most situations.
i've also tried using a Bow which is actually pretty nice.
Bows are also good for PVP because you don't have to get right up on your target...
