Some basic guidelines:
Wear robes & use a 2handed mage staff (these have the most M. Atk.).
For D grade, get common robes & top staff - should cost you maybe 100k.
For C grade, common staff but maybe get Karmian Robe set (not common so you get the set bonus)
20-25 wind strike, 25-40 nuke undeads (Execution grounds 25-35ish, 35-44 sucks for nuking on a healer).
lvl 44 you get inquisitor and you can solo nuke better.
Try to get in duo/parties/raid groups, probably mostly with melee's (nukers probably won't take you at this point just for recharge). The more friends you make and more parties you get into, the better.
Unfortunately, due to the way the game is designed (at the lower levels) most people tend to solo (the fact that HP & MP herbs drop like candy also don't help). The game really starts and gets better once you are higher lvl and get in a clan that parties & appreciates support classes.
