So, i'm beginning to hit 43 with my Bounty Hunter, but i keep running out of vitality.
So my question is: Which is better; to hunt untill you hit lv 0 or 1 vitality, then stop, logout and rest untill u have lv 4 again,
OR
Keep grinding at lv 0 vitality ?
I mean, is it really worth grinding with 0 vitality?
sure it is worth grinding if you like to play the game.........so many of us did that before they added the vit ....and had just as much fun
There is no point in specifically stopping the grind when your vitality is at 0. In the time it takes to regen your vitality back to the top you would gain more XP (overall) by simply grinding. Think of vitality only as a bonus and not a re-use timer.
However, the opposite is true if you're at maximum. The more you leave a toon at top, the more you're wasting precious XP.
okay, thanks alot guys :-)
Ye, i also played lineage 2 back in the days, but it just feels like they lowered the xp a bit :) But maybe thats just me ;-) !
vihla you are a Bounty Hunter :P dont complain :P i do it on purpose get vit 0 on my Bounty Hunter so i can spoil longer same mobs :P well yeah before they entered vit system was same stuff as today with 0 vit :P so if u enjoy the game put a little sticker on the screen to cover ur exp bar :) hehehehehe as Aconyte said i think,

lol :D
My vitality is always 0 ;D
I try to stay at max as much as possible. I use an Alt when my Vit gets to low. I absolutly hate XP-ing at zero Vit.
Just find your most comfortable playstile.
Falexi
well yeah i do have 7 toons and on my mains i switch as soon as vit hit 3rd bar, but on BH i play with no matter on vit :P and yes shasae we can manor for longer too, but it still pain in the butt to beat the autousers in settle the crops ;P
It will take you 3 days to rest vitality from 1 or 0 back to 4.
Grinding with 0 vitality is the only way to level fast at higher levels, unless there is a vitality event.
Yup, Vitality was made so that ppl that don't play alot can still keep up a bit with the ppl that play alot.
If you play everyday your vit will mostlikely be 0, don't let that stop you from lvling, the time you let the vit regen, you could have made some good xp in the meantime.
yeah, exping without vitality is suuuuux, getting 0.01-0.015 (yeye) from 1 mob... :X
LOL.. Apparently you never played L2 before they implemented Vitality. :)
I rememeber in the early days (C1 to C4) when there were no herbs, no Vitality, and newbie buffs ended at a much earlier level (cannot remember what exactly) PLUS you could only use them on the FIRST toon you created on your account. NPC shops only sold basic D grade gear and low end C grade in the Giran Luxury Shop. :D
Those were the best days of L2, now everything is too easy. ;)
no, dude, i played before on x1, without vitality (c3-c4), but in that times was no matter what lvl r u, but now u need only 78+ for making some pvp... :X

PS. Was best days ... c2-c5..
I do not PvP, PK or even bother with Oly because none of those function interest me. Back in the day when lowbies were ganked constantly by high level in areas like Execution Grounds I would annoy players trying to kill me by doing the following:
I would just stand there and ask them to hurry up and kill me so I can get back to grinding. Generally that persuaded them to give up because I would not fight back (turn purple) so for them to PK me they would go red. If and when I was PKd and spawned back in town all it took was a shout that there was a red player named WHOEVER in X area. Generally others dashed to try and kill the red player in hopes he dropped decent stuff. :D
I just grind, do quests, group with friends and generally play in a laid back way. I am in no hurry to reach end game so I drag the game out as long as I can. :)
For me C3 was the best Chronicle, everything after that started making things too easy.
1. players who will not play more than 1 hr a day between 1-76, and 30 min / day 76+.
2. players who play like me and have 28 alts and no main :) actually my main is my 81 wolf because it can use evryones vit lol
Not true.
10 AM Almost 1 lv 4 vit bar
6 PM Almost 1 lv 4 vit bar
2 AM Almost 1 lv 4 vit bar
3 bar 4 +any vit pots= 2.5 horus of real play = 6+hours at vit 0
Vihla, as most have already said, as a spoiler you want to level as slow as possible to attain to most mats for your current spoil level. Now if your goal is to reach a certain level for a specific spoil, then my all means, grind away.
I do know that if you are in party your vit loss is significatly less than griding solo. (I just spend 3 hours heavy griding in EV on my baby WS and she didn't even lose her third bar because she was in party). Depending on how many hours a day you play, you could start each day with full vit by playing until your thirds bar finishes (don't grind during second bar in other words) and start the next day at about the same time your started playing the day before.
Now if you chose to take the advice others have given reguarding spoilers and play with zero vit for your dwarf, might I suggest killing supper low mobs for 1-2 minutes if you are at 2 or more vit. I went to a starting zone on a C grade toon once and killed gremlins for the heck of it (I was bored) and vit got to 0 in about 90 seconds (maybe less)
no i have 24 chars below 75..... and as i said i play 45 min/char /day. So in about 3-5 yrs when i have 28 chars 75 ill then have 28 chars 40 lol i aint NEVER lvling past 75 lol ill just sub at 75 and do it all over again...:)

why do u play so many characters?
because im ocd, and i want to hit the same mobs in the same room for a few yrs. and im deadly serious. When the mobs turn blue i just switch chars and do it again lol
in c3 i stayed in the same room in cruma 2nd for 2 yrs,
by c5 i was in same cat for another 2 yrs,
and now i have 81 wolf so all my chars are in the same cat now lol
vihla you are a Bounty Hunter :P dont complain :P i do it on purpose get vit 0 on my Bounty Hunter so i can spoil longer same mobs
also you can stay ina an area with seeding longer...and make more adena
That's true if he is running a script program to obtain the seeds and the turn in. Unless he is seeding for crops that have so little value that the botters can't be bothered with scripting them.
Still getting ~3% a day playing 40minutes will take about another months to get 78. then probably 2 months for 79 and 2-3 more for 80. That will put me at level 80 in just about a year of playing solo :).
Just FYI, xp at 79+ is 3.5 times slower than at 78.
It takes about 40 min to go from full vit to vit 2 (unless you get vit herbs regularly).
And yes, it's possible to acquire 3-4% playing 40 min a day at 77, starting with full vit every day.
I imagine if I was a player just starting out and on a tight budget, I would only level when I had some Vitality. The more XP per kill, the less soul/spiritshots used to level.
But I've been playing this game since loooooooong before Vitality was introduced (and truthfully since before everyone started popping soul/spiritshots like they were dime store candy), so it doesn't bother me to hunt without Vitality.
A summoner friend in game went from 60lvl to 78 and made a pp from lvl1 to 72 playing 1-2 times every week, simply grinding only with vitality. All that time i was 80lvl grinding to 81..................
the way vit lasts it makes xp easy only untill s grade, then it stops exist.

Huh???
The rate at which you lose vitality is directly proportional to the xp per kill.
If you acquire 0 xp per kill you don't lose any vit.
Havent seen any change in vitality rate from lvl 60-77. Still getting ~3% a day playing 40minutes will take about another months to get 78. then probably 2 months for 79 and 2-3 more for 80. That will put me at level 80 in just about a year of playing solo :).
Ah just a heads up... You're going to hit 79 and suddenly feel like you just got kicked in the teeth. I AOE in FOG and do around ~1% an hour. Vit 4 - Vit 0 takes only a few minutes of AOE.
Leveling only when you have vit is fine until the high 70's, but by 79 it's pointless. At some point you're going to need to make a choice to level without vit or be content with not reaching end game.

Hint: everything can be farmed, including vitality (unless you sit in FoG of course).
My personal record was 6 hours at Vit=4 at lvl 81.
Leveling like this, I am certainly not reaching end game. :(

INCORRECT
If you get 0 experience points because you are too high to be eligible, you lose the same amount of vitality as you would if you were the same level as the mob.
If you don't believe me, try AoEing on a load of blue mobs which are 20 levels below you and watch your vitality drop.
If the NPC normally doesn't give XP (such as a quest mob) then you won't lose any vitality.

Kids these days... The best days L2 ever had were Open Beta and Prelude. Skills stopped at 56 (IIRC) and there was no B grade gear, but we all had immense amounts of fun.
