4th Anniversary April 23rd - May 20th 2008 - Launch of Hellbound/Event
5th Anniversary April 28th - May 5th 2009 - Event
6th Anniversary - Oh guess we don't count them no more.
It is a shame and it no fault of Sace of even HGMWill and Moxi. It seems NA NCSoft has written off this game and just leaves the lights on. I know working in the public sector and having all the ideas in the world but nor the power to do it can frustrate some of L2 staff in NA.
I actually understand they truly want to give us the best experience or at least give us that impression. However with a deep budget cut as seen over the last week with the slow lethargic response to one my clannies getting hacked it is apparent they are at a minimum staffing level now. Over last weekend it seems at times there was only one GM on duty and rightfully so he (she) can't be on all the servers at the same even for emergencies.
It is pretty sad when someone has hacked your account and they have had unrestricted free access to it for over a week because of the slow process it is taking for the staff to go over my clannies info. Lets be serious HGMWill and Sace this game is over 6 years old, if you being playing for 6 years still expect anyone to know the original credit card number they used on the game? Or the original time card? Even the IRS with your taxes only expects 7 years of documentation and that involves your freedom lol.
So with a heavy heart I will be with L2 until they downsize the power budget and turn the lights off because of lack of options I stick with my friends here.

Well i do want to say somthing on that behalf
when a budget gets cut its one thing
But when the staff also is in the "quitting mood" because of the set back
that's real bad, i been in the same situation, and there's only one solution
show NC soft Korea that L2 is not dead, but it has one serious flaw
it's not being advertised, and like annything in america or europe
wich u dont advertise for, it gets forgotten by new things
i'm already hearing from People on Aion that they are thinking its a much
faster levle up game, better quests, but like annything that's too easy
it dies faster out too
Aion shurely wont have the bigger life span L2 has already.
Graphically Aion is a step back from L2 too.
And in stores here in Belgium u already cant find anny Aion annymore
they already took it out all of the stores, while L2 is still there!
But no one knows L2, so it kinda is a vicious circle

Same thing happened with everquest. The game was "dying" for years and they were downsizing. It got to the point where the only ones who cared about the game were the players. Of course then the lightbulb finally turned on that the sub decline basically flatlined between retro players coming back, a few news, and the normal attrition of people growing up and becoming to busy to sink time. That was the point where they started sinking more resources into the game because longevity = player base = easily budgetable game where you can efficiently allocate resources.
On the flip side we could always hope for the Korean Won to take a big hit so our sub dollars artifically grow!

They apparently don't want more money :( I bought the 4th anniversary box and applied the free time to my main account. Then later when I wanted to use it to create a 3rd account, they said I couldn't because I already used it :confused:
I even wrote back "you don't want my extra $16 per month for a third account?" and the answer was the same. :p Would seem to me to flex their silly "rule" a little would have gained them $16/month x however long I will be playing (been here since beta). Doh!!!! I didn't know that applying the time would mean I couldn't use the box I bought for an account ><
they don't care about L2 anymore, they are milking this cow as much as they can until it dies....they never did care about the players in the first place, it is and it will be always about the money...they are trying to get as much as they can with low costs.
And when I say low costs, I mean everything from not taking the time to make a decent web page with a library to allowing bots to rule the game or the lack of in game support.....no advertising, no nothing....just cash in and sleep tight
so that would explain the lack of a decent event during the last months....it's pretty simple how it works...throw a good event once 4-5 months (like the vitality event) and then let them sleep happy for a while and nobody will say a thing...

Now would all be more happy if it turned out that they are so busy fixing the Freya PTS that they couldent manage to do a event now but decided that they would give one when Freya was launched ?

Another year of l2 and no event is bit sad, looks like ppl said before NCsoft not care much about their players..
but..i can live w/o event its np..but more sad is No1 from Gms, HGM's or Even Comunity Gms answered in this thread yet, and no1 explained us why..

if you go to the events page you can clearly see that we get an event about every 2 months with a contest thrown in every 3-4 months. if you ignore the vesper giveaway, then the last event was the april fools event. this means the next scheduled event would be in June. Thats a long time to keep up the whining. stock up on tissues or you wont make until then. I seriously wonder if you have tantrums like this in real life when you dont get what you want.

If the answer is simply we did not have the resources to do the translation then that is perfectly fine. But we are at least owed an answer. there wont be an end to peoples questions until an answer is given because there is a gaping unknown at this point.
maybe they don't do events since they think they are all too old and there are no new ones ...
imo old events where you could get stuff or sell the event items to the rich people were very useful because they allowed new players to earn some starting capital.
all you need is to update prizes. for example last year we got event with attribute stones. this year attribute crystals would be relevant. And some epics are always relevant, people buy event items like crazy if there is even 0.00000000001% chance to get one (correction:sans AQ/core/orfen, seems like no one wants one anymore).
right now new player is frustrated since there is no way to earn any decent funds to keep going.

Well, at least there where many item related skills with sayins about the 6th birthday in the skillviewer. Dunno why we didnt get any event if even there were implemented stuff for it.

That was very well said - NC should have learned by now, to just come clean and say what the reason why we did not get a 6th Ann. event.
Its not like a Event would cost billions of $$ to prepare!

And to the GM's: Nothing says more forget you as to say nothing.

He forgets to add how much income they have a month.
Think this 80k active accounts at $15.00 per month = $1.2 million a month income.
$10,000 a month is a drop in the bucket.
If I had to guess for energy cost and service maybe cost them $100k to run the servers.
Leaving $1.1 million a month profit never mind all the etc. services you can purchase. If they have more then 150k a month in salaries I would be shocked. So your talking still close to $1 million a month profit easily.
