This is your place to give your official feedback about the combination of the April Fools Day Event and the Vesper Weapon Giveaway. (These two events and the winners list can be viewed here (http://www.lineage2.com/archive/2010/04/april_fools_day.html).)
To recap briefly; during the 24-hour April Fool's Day Event, among the players randomly finding the real Vesper Weapons in midst the Vesper illusions that day, some of those players were found to be using third-party-program. We confiscated their prized weapons and banned these EULA-violating players. As a remedy to that problem, and as a way to ensure that we could verify the legitimacy of randomly selected winners, we devised the Vesper Weapon Giveaway. The Giveaway visited every server and selected one or two winners from a random list. After verifying that they met all requirements, they were awarded with the event item that produced a random Vesper weapon for each winner. We've never hosted a giveaway event such as this, and we'd love to hear your feedback!

hated it. It did nothing but turned u char to a diff armour. The bonus stats really did not much since most of us have those kinda buffs neways

Was fun; but only lasting a very short time seemed a bit mean to some ppl who cant play all day. (Maybe a solution to that would be clickable items that last for a certain time).

Allowing people who cant be online all the time, or at specific times, ways to participate.

the event was well polished with exception to the original flaw in giving botters weapons...
however i do feel the effort put into creating this event (april fools joke?) could have been better spent on a week/2 week long event where everyone could have got involved like the traditional L2Day event.

make it weekly with random items like from the auction and drop them in places anywhere on the map. make people scramble for them.
Getting a vesper weapon as a reward is of course awesome, but 3 ppl per server getting a reward and the rest getting nothing is of course disappointing. The buffs were nice though.

Do like afro event ^^ first day you get full reward after you only get buff ;) to me one day is too short to be called an event. we get event every 2 months and if u said hum let's make an one day event like that we are relax and all will wait 2 more months to get something....

um ya, and if legits can't be on at the time of giveaway they miss out... I work late so I missed it, some euros have no chance of being awake at that time, etc...
besides the fact the vesper weapon is useless and must be sold by anyone who gets it if they are not lvl 84 (and there are not a whole lot of legit lvl 84s, ya know ?) so chance of the player even being able to use it are very slim. And a random one? yay... can't even pick a weapon my class would use... great. And yea due to low activity of most servers, the person will probably have trouble selling it. I see ppl blowing up icarus because they can't sell it.
Better to pick more winners and let them choose what they want (weapon, armors, or even other stuff - masteries, vita pops, etc) up to a certain adena value imo.
Well even from the results u did givethe weapons back to like 3/4th botters
...and even to botters buff boxes...

things were people can be creative with and that would actually cover

1: The action you took regarding the weapons gone to the botters couldnt be handled worse, who cares about 3 weapons gone frome one botter to another, and even if it was a true legit that got it the second time, what are the odds he will be able to use it ? guess free CryS is always something
2: The aprils fools day event was fun, the script was great as i could see myself wearing the vespers as well as the buffs from it, a little boost in pve always helps.
3: Unnessasary and pointless, above that irritating and unfair.
4: Aprils fool day event was the type of event we all like, nothing that great but still fun and usefull, you should do more of them this one day events. The vesper weapon giveaway was a failure, if that was icarus weapon at least those lucky 3 ppl would have some use of it.

There are some good recommendations within this thread. Some might be:
Event length: Min week
Event notification: Min 2 weeks prior
Event prizes need to reflect current status of the community and market:
Prizes such as the following might be a good start.
XP,
Vitality boosts,
revita pops,
Mats from base to high level Mats in significant quanitites,
S-Grade+ weapons/armors,
BEA-A/S, BEW-A/S
and ALL prizes of any type tradeable.

It is allways nice that you removed it from botters, but makes one wonder. If you knew they were botters why were they not banned in the first place.

Well I am not going to say "Dont" do this things in the future becuse , hey it was something :) But neither of them were really that great.
Tips might be to increase the boost in the pots, they dident really make a diffrence.

This so called event, I feel was extremely overrated. The fact players had pretyped messages shows, this event wasn't fair. The message should have been random, per each server.

The fact that we got these events rather then a "celebrated" anniversary is not worth the 16 bucks I feel we pay a month. Another plaync soft game, celebrated their (birthday) anniversary this year, and mind you that game is free to play. It lasted a little over a week. Explain this to me, Plaync soft.
Sace, I believe you could find a better company to work for. Plaync, seems to have their wires crossed.

I thought they were good and a refreshing change for once. usually no one (other than legit players) cared if bots got the good event awards. and certainly no one did anything about it.

There was an April Fools day event? Oh wait that was the one that no one new about until it started at 8am on April 1st (a week day)only to end at midnight. So any player that has a real life (ie family, career, school, etc) would have been lucky to learn of it before the event was half over. If you were a player like me and learned of it a 10:30pm EDT you theoretically had 4.5 hrs of possible access to it but realistically you had maybe 1.5 - 2.5 hrs of actual "event"
Aside from the planning and implementation of said "event" the buff boost were barely worth it and entirely too random (its great being a melee DD and getting the mage buff boost)
The concept of a random real weapon drop as a prize is great in theory but restricting it to only 3 per server is beyond ludicrous. It a wanted random weapon drops I'd go kill mobs and have a better chance of getting a drop.

Honestly a waste of my time to even try and participate. really? 240 messages cap? How many people submitted multiple replies? How many had multiple accounts? You started out by limiting the "contest" to less then 10% of your server player base and then even further by enforcing such and silly time sensitive trigger to it.

Let us know an event is coming! events a supposed to be fun and worth participating in. One day for an event is not worth it, don't even implement it if the event is going to be so short, all you are doing is ing off your legitimate player base with your half efforts.
The Events need to last at least a week to allow all of your player base to participate regardless of their lives outside L2. I'm not asking for economy breaking rewards but something that makes the event truly worth playing and the possibility of that "OMG Item" are nice. some of the best events in L2's history were the ones that rewarded players with materials (and tons of materials) With the Wondrous Cubic quest you never again need to offer D - B grade scrolls as a reward or buff scrolls.
Rewards like those given for various L2Korea events would be nice.

DID NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL, one of the reasons had a work till 8pm came home at 9pm 1hr of play and had to sleep cause wake up next morning 6am, khm make x2 xp/sp events on weekends would be much more preffered, at least for 2 weeks and only on the weekends.... i mean May 11th to May 25th and x2 xp/sp will come on may 15th-16th and 22nd-23rd :P other days drop even quest items(for exchange later)

if AFDE was truly an event then atleast make it 2 weeks, then give us some event item drops(stackable) so we can exchange them in town for some interesting prizes, like accesories, LSs, SA crystals, vita candies, exp runes, +++ shadow weapons for 2-4 hours, and enchants A, S, grades cause as said before the cubic quest does a lot of work for b,c,d enchants
as of VWG don't do that, would be nice when I win but please dont do that, i know i asked for second chance but, well yeah dont do that again please, better off with some crazy events like in Korea and to make it exiting make an expire time on the even drop items so those ones who use 3rd program wont be getting much :)

I really enjoyed it as it was, and it is fun to have a quick short event.
Good idea, bad implementation. When doing live events a few more seconds of proof reading cannot hurt the overall cause.
Being based around the mail system was the worst part of it. Even if you were online at the time, if you were not in a safe zone or unable to get back in time, you still could not participate. Then there are the sending-duplicate-entries, stuffing-the-mailbox-from-alts, and other-complaints-already-mentioned aspects. Ugh!
If I may offer a suggestion: Next time, use an account-based approach. You have a special page where users sign in with their account info and select which character to enter into the contest. Contest runs for a week. One entry per account, not per-server or per-character. Drawing should still be done as X winners per server.
here's an idea of an event....try to wake up first then have a meeting with all the GMs, hell it could be a coffee meeting and try something like this for an event:
"One or two GMs should pick a server, log in, go to Giran make the following announcement: "GM organizing a rage trip, join me on a bot hun" and then the gm indicates the spot for the players to port...then he will make all the bots go purple as if by magic and the one player that kills the most bots gets an reward...."
repeat hunting zone>repeat server"
now that's an event that requires the interaction of players and GMs
can't wait to see how more can you fail in the future...please don't let me down ;)

And i realy hate all that last events since the rudolph/lovers/Aprils fools event weren't good for Summoner.

oh hear yea hear yea! Finally an event not for bots! The player had to be legit during the time of the weapon transaction. Great Job on an event not for bots! BUT as you see, those whinners that you guys have been catering to . . . are a vast minority of the players. I'm not saying everyone else is a bot, I'm just sayin' no one likes an event where nothing really happens to them. Sure everyone got some temp buffs, but heck, my pet gives me temp buffs too. Rediscover what an event is and stop listening to the minority of the players . . . this was an event for a handful of players and a non-event for the rest of the players.
P.S. Can we get a 'real event' again? Something like the letters, or killing swarms of mobs that drop things that we can use (not enchant weapon D, C, B or A scrolls) Something that each player can obtain that can benefit them on their S grade toon.
Some folks requested to see what it looks like to receive many mail letters at once. I think the max that I saw at one point was about 20 letters flying around me but I didn't get a chance to screenshot that one. :rolleyes: Enjoy!

i couldnt play the day of the april's 'event'... and didnt get to send an email for the giveaway either...
so yea.. to me it sucked... but with life as it is now, i'm not sure i could even enjoy a 2week long event (didnt log already for teh past 4or 5 days)... guess its time to cancel the account

Don't ever, ever, ever do this again. Think of some other event...
And maybe announce it some days before instead of the actual day the event is going to start... And maybe... a bit longer then just a day.
And it is retarted the way the give away went. Not every one can be online at one given moment + of the XXXX people playing only XX took a chance to be choosen.... How ed.
