Yesterday 2 Gm's on phoenix server started in rune summonig elpys..if u killed them,they had a nice dropt rate on vit pops.
Dear Gms and dear ncsoft...im playing this game for years now and i want just to make u some questions...
Why didnt u put on every active account 10 pops and u just made this elpy event ?
Other People was at work others sleeping, other people was there yes but they wasnt able to pick anything...Class with no aoe skills and class low on movment speed..got almost not vit even 1 vit pop.
Personaly ive got 10. But waching around most of the people got 35-40 pops i find that unfair for me and unfair especially for the people who was not there..
With this yesterday u come and confirm my thinking about this game.... that this game and everything that has do to with it is totally UNFAIR.
I know u are trying to do something to keep people still in game..thats nice from u but do something that is fair for everybody and noone would have to say anything...

Wow. Actually considering that if some people got 35-40 revita-pops out of dumb luck, that's pretty imbalanced considering that's probably in total all regular people could have gotten in all events up to now.
So the people lucky enough to be there pretty much got a free birthday buff. Perhaps even better than a birthday buff considering you can choose when to use it and your toon doesn't risk it being canceled.
I don't particularly QQ over this -- but pointing out that this sort of thing creates a significant perception of inequity in the game. It's one thing to have imbalance through cheat programs, it's an entirely different thing when an imbalance is conducted through an official act by GMs.
But very very cool for the people who got these. Use them well! and grats!!

35-40 pops is quite a lot of extra XP, especially at the high levels. And if NCsoft does unannounced events at the times when Americans work and Euros sleep, not many people technically could be "lucky enough to be there next time".

what do you get for defending it? More Events? It might shock you, but since its a "per mob" thing, it bring even MORE at high lvls.

M8 just fyi 40 vit pops = about 60-65% at 81 lvl...why others have to spend days/months to get that % ??? this is not fair..

I see your point and I can agree that a drop rate like that for something unannounced is a little stunning. Yet, I play on Phoenix and due to internet problems I couldn't log in, but I'm still glad to see they are interacting with the server.
I agree just a regular event would be preferable, but we also shouldn't bite at them for trying to spice things up.
I missed the part in your OP that referenced 35 to 40 pops ... that's my bad. I didn't read the entire thing, sorry for being hastey! I had just woken up when I read this thread and made that post :P I thought everyone got like 5 to 10 which really is not THAT big a deal...
I don't get anything for "sucking up" -- but I do have years of experience in Community Support for online worlds and having an active community staff is something that is invaluable to the unity and progression of a happy community. It's something that NCSoft missed, I'd say they were in the wrong field but they're in the wrong ballpark on the wrong continent as far as community support goes.
I don't think they have to give vita-pops to everyone but as far as their experience in world goes, they're lacking. They're bound to make some mistakes as they find their footing on actually coming in game. Maybe chalk this up to one of them, but what I'm saying is you should be happy they're actually coming in game at all. That alone is an improvement from YEARS past.
I did find it kind of ridiculous that I was watching MM's doing Aqua Splash (or w/e the water aoe attack is) but I couldn't use Whirlwind unless I was out of town (and they went to Rune Castle Town, Fantasy Isle, Wastelands, and Talking Island Village).
Speaking of hypocrites, I found it funny someone in FS (who's name rhymes with ordFly) made a general shout saying "why do you carebears care so much about revitapops and xp?" Curious to know why I was able to read that shout from Fantasy Island, though...ANYWAY! Good event, leverage would have made it a bit more interesting, but hey! The more people no-life the game, the more rewards they reap...right?

3.5 years playing and i still have yet to see a GM, i just hope it's a sign of better things to come.
L2 can use a good deal of cheering up these days, especially with the Vesper non event and the total lack of event for the 6th anniversary, even a rehashed one. So if GM actually start to work in a Visible fashion, i'm all for it even if some dude gets 40 vita pop and i dont get any.
I hope this wasn't a random and non continous event, probably NCwest is going for a new approach, actually paying attention to their community and bringing life back to l2's servers.

most of the times i'm also at work, back at home with the folks or taking care of my wife and baby daughter... yesterday, during the 1 or 2 hrs of playtime i get every other night, i was surprised to see the elpy invasion system messages.. went to fantasy island and got the buff.. no vit pop... no way to compete with the aoe nukes...
yet it was nice... that 1hr cov helped alot getting the last level for my wolf (finally dinged it 55)...
complaining gets you nowhere and if you're really that over a game, maybe you should just quit... I've missed week long events due to other commitments, and i'm still here, having fun... and will probly will keep loging in as long as the fun is there...
besides... in 4yrs of playing the game, its the first time i actually see a GM online... now there's something to feel happy about

They should just remove Vitality already, to stop the weekly post about people crying that they want more vitality, or it should regen faster, etc.

You assume people whine for events because they're greedy... that does play a role in it, one in which varies from person to person... But events keep the community ralied together. They're very important. If anything there should be far, far more. Which from the sounds of it we have some incoming! :)

but this isn't right, atleast come on different times to give other players a chance too,
and yeah.. players without a targetted aoe skill are screwed...
but i also think, if some ppl got 40-50 pops, thats a bit much compared to those who werent on or were xp'ing/pvp'ing. no1 would cry about 5 pops, but if ppl see that probably the biggest townssitters or bots get 50 (!!!) pops, thats a bit much for my taste.

Only 1 boss jewel drops in an epic raid killed by many.
Some people are never lucky enough to sell really low demand items frequently while some people sell them all the time.
Some bots get banned in C grade while some are still botting on 85/100%.
One guy competing for hero has a high level, ++skills, top gear, and tons of good talismans while the next guy just sucks by comparison and can't get the glow.
Some classes just suck at PvP/Oly full stop, while some are completely beastly in both.
Some people were lucky enough to be logged in at a random time of the day and were greeted with an awesome treat while the rest were doing stuff in real life or botting afk.

In the 3.5 years I played L2 never had i seen a GM ever 5 years ago. The fact that you guys did a random non planned event, I think it was AMAZING! I mena everyone went to TI and lots of fun pvp happened, people got revita pops and no one planned to play 24/7 during an event period. I think it was awesome and I heop to see more of this, I returned to the game after a 2year break, this was definatly something that made me feel like they do still put effort into this game gives me more the reaosn to play again. Thats just my 2 cents.

Its friggin awesome the gm's are coming into the game more (and I bet the same ppl crying now are the ones who were crying no gm about before). They visited each server (or still are) so its fair in that regard. Its a bonus if you were lucky enuff to get any vita pops from this, if you didnt, what did you lose..?

They spawn 1k elpies in each server.. so.. in Dead servers.. you get like 1.5 elpies per player... on other non-dead servers.. you get 0.25 elpies per player.

First, this is not an official event. What we've been doing over the last week is more along the lines of fun, social interaction with some sprinkles of vitality. We're also doing these as a way of testing the grounds for some full blown GM events. When we do official, serious business events, everyone will be made aware of the times and activities via the fabulous Event pages that Sace puts up. You will be fully informed.
We have been taking into consideration the difference in populations and providing more mobs/rewards for higher population servers.
Our goal with this specific Elpy infestation was to bring a little bit of excitement to the world and get some player feedback on how things were handled on a smaller scale. We've taken player comments into consideration and made adjustments based on your feedback. We'd like to continue with this type of thing because the whole purpose of our planning is to give you all something fun and new.
I hope this helps clarify our purpose a bit and I hope everyone is okay with this type of interaction going forward. We greatly appreciate all constructive feedback! :)

In all seriousness.. if you want the carebears and the cry babies to be happy, automate the elpy even to spawn them randomly around the world at varying intervals. It would be reminiscent of the older random killer elpy event, and would allow people to run around the world looking for them to collect the vitapops. Obviously... some people who get more than others, but it would take some effort on the players part.

Do you really want whiny euros on american servers?Euro's been on NA servers since beta, you would only notice the difference if they left, even then you would probably not notice because there are whiny Americans aswell ;)
Yet, it's the truth. If I rolled on Teon I wouldn't expect events at NA times. Yes there are a lot of Europeans on NA servers, but with that transfer option there is no more reason for the crying. Either transfer or deal with it.

grrr i care nothing for events, but i wish ppl wouldnt tell euros to reroll - there wasnt a euro server when some of us started and some of us just dont want to transfer :-p
Well it just happened on Aria :D
I got some luck. Since last Friday i always go afk at Talking island instead of Clanhall, so I Found Moxie before the beginning. She asked me to wait and not call people, but right after the announcement it was fun really :D
