I heard, that scamming is bannable offense. But when I made petition to ppl, who try sell "Falcon transformations" as "Mastery Books" I got very unbelievable answer..
That its ok, and L2 is PVP like game.
Ok, how I can kill ppl who try scam if his untagged unknown named toon is level 1 and sti just in Giran?
Because it opens up so many questions/issues if they get involved; then they have to interpret every shop title that someone /gm's. No one can force you to buy from a player shop or to press confirm on a trade, so ppl need to show a little responsibility by paying attention to what they are buying.
BE more smart before click on the stuffs is legal too :P
I didnt make mistake, I always check it... But for many players it can be weird. Im just wondering, because I heard that its bannable offense and heard, that some players was banned for this issue (ie. clan leader of TheVersuS from Phoenix GRmantis)...

Scamming is not a bannable offence. AFAIK, nobody has been banned for it.
When first accessoires hit the game, selling hairpins reward from lowbee dorf quest for 10M each was priceless. I even remember 1 toon pm and said: pls save 10 for me. I buy adena now and pay you 7.5M each ^^
In places where NCSoft has a hand in the scamming I think it is appropriate from them to make some remedy.
The case of "Falcon transformations" as "Mastery Books" and the old version of the "4 Seps Item" as "S Gems" wouldn't be possible without NCSoft not providing differing images for the items. In these cases I think NCSoft should take some sort of action.
they did do a lot with things like adamantite and the nugget, and the oriharukon, and they changed the red gems...
they do fix these issues eventually, but it just takes a while.
scamming is allowed, because it's a part of life, people will scam you.
just be aware of the scams, and you can avoid them.
not like the scam where you stuck a red soul crystal for 100 million while it was invisible... that was a game exploit used in scamming...
and that was i believe banable.
Scamming is just considered to be Financial PVP. Since this is a PVP game it is quite legal to do. That is why NC always says to be sure to verify what you are buying before completing the transaction.
It sucks when it happens to you. I was almost scammed years ago and tried to buy A Shots for cheap and ended up with NG Shots. Thankfully NG shots weigh a lot more than A shots do and I was put over the weight limit.
Even with the red soul crystals was not a bannable offense! At least i dont remember anyone getting banned for it! The crystal might not show but the price of the package would be different from normal! The game states in login that when you are doing a transaction you always have to double check the persons name (and clan if he has got one) the items that are under trade and the price!! Gms are not responsible for your loss! i as far as most of ppl i know have been scammed at least once! It's what will make you pay more attention next time!!

Ty for answer.
Player scam other player vs Player avoid scam by other players = other part of PVP
Scamming has been in the game since the beginning of the game.
People have found different ways of scamming other people of their hard earned items and adena.
That is why you should be more awake and read the warnings about these things can happen. If a deal or talk seems to good to be true, it probably is. You cannot have your weapon enchanted to 16 by dropping it to the ground and picking it up with the other person in party with by turn on pickup.
If there are items that look simular in graphics, you should take the time to read the description. Worst case if you are dyslectic it takes a little longer than a few seconds to read what kind of item it is.
If you think i can write this stuff because i haven't been scammed, you are wrong. I have been scammed more than once, but never to bad so that i could not recover from the loss.
I often sell SSS or GSAP with something like "Makes Chicks Think You're Hot" as my store title. Clearly if scamming was a bannable offence I would be banned. But it's not. Take the time to read what you are buying and you will be fine. PS my GSAP do really make you look hot. Buy mine instead of the other guys because his are past their used by date.

heeh I had to lol with your last sentence :) Good selling tactics ;)
Indeed scamming is not bannable and is considered financial PvP. Hence the warnings to always check what you buy.
Same goes with the random low level toons standing in towns hardly speaking proper English (by that I mean speaking in terms like: "Trade TOON X weapon. Me just want attack see." etc.) and trade your toon to try and scam you out of your gear or certain valuable items.
Now that the trading window has been set to two ways acceptance with preview on items it's easier to avoid, but still some seem to get fooled into this practice.
So again, in general, be careful before accepting/confirming anything.
