As you are aware, our Producer, Sam Han, recently moved to another position within NCsoft. While we are saddened to see him go, I am elated to introduce our new Senior Producer, Christopher “Cabel†Mahnken. With 15 years of experience in the games industry, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role as we embark on many exciting changes for Lineage II.

I should admit my first feeling about you is "Wow that's a nice avatar" So for me you will be The-Nice-Avatar-Producer (and Omega was The-Big-Green-Orc-In-Apella :P)
I hope you will enjoy the Lineage 2 community, and I have a little question if you could answer it : do you plan a MAJOR change about Lineage 2 (not so huge like switching to Free L2 with Item Mall , but something like that) or you are just talkking about next updates (Freya and CT3 ^^)
I suppose i should extend a warm welcome as well.
this is the L2 Forum community, not to be confused with the L2 game community... so few of us actually take the time to post, and most of it is garbage.
i hope you fit in, in a sense that you don't get lost a lot, but i also hope you stand out, and fight for what's needed...

How often do you bot or buy adena? L2bin.fix? Update?
Judging by your your LinkedIn page (http://www.linkedin.com/in/mahnken), you seem to have experienced quite a bit of the online game business during your job at Sierra Online (wiki/Sierra_Online) and Sandlot Games (http://www.sandlotgames.com/). Well, Lineage II isn't a "causal" game like those made by these two companies, not in any sense of the word "causal", so ... good luck. We can be a hard and unforgiving bunch. :)

Spare us the nice introduction and stuff. Go ban the bots, fix the l2.bin error, ban the bots, give us more events, ban the bots, update lineage2.com main website, ban the bots, keep us more informed about future expansions (freya etc) because its a shame that fansites are more informed than the official one, ban the bots, make lineage2 alive again by advertsing it, ban the bots.
If you do at least half of those main player's requests, then you are welcome.
I will take this opportunity to hijack your welcome thread and make a minor suggestion which would improve L2 for both NCsoft and your Lineage2 players. If you can make this idea into reality, you will have my ongoing support! :P
Currently most players find out their account expired either by being disconnected from the server or by attempting to log in and being informed their account expired. Being disconnected sucks because sometimes, for example, you are at a clan raid like Frintezza or Antharas and when you dc you can't get back. Realizing when you are trying to log in sucks because sometimes you can't get a new game time card right away.
How about placing a message when you log into your acct that says "your account will expire on <insert date>". You can set it to only appear when there are 7 days or less left of remaining time. By making this change your customers will be more likely to activate faster which in turn leads to more income for NC Soft. Also you win up with happier players.
As the new guy in town we hope you can take this new idea and push it through the red tape :)
Oh wait a minute. Now we have Gracia... errr.. the Land of Lineage 2! (Lineage is another story. o.-)
I am sure Moxie and Sace have shown you how nice, or some might call it whiney, we are. My advice is to just grab a beer, find a comfy chair and enjoy this wild ride down the rabbit hole!

If you want to ban botters or RMT just keep an eye on people that put down people who hate bots.
Not quite that simple. Some of us just get tired of logging onto the forums and hearing the same ppl crying into their pillow on a daily basis. Just go smack your head into a wall, it'd be more productive.

pick a healer or a dwarf or a tank, and try get it to 68 ...

Any new producer should be required to play the game from 1-85 with the sound on! No exceptions..IMHO :(

Yeah all of that and the sound in game makes me want to /wrist ... sound in a game is a very important part ...
Cable talks about big things coming to all L2 players so I just wonder how far you are on that? Because as far as I remember servers merges wasn't ''the big thing''. Memory may be deceiving me tho.
The server merge was indeed one of the big things. I would also say that double XP weekends, and other settings changes like the event were having now is also a relatively large change. There are plans for other big changes in the works, but as Cabel explained, big projects take a long time and we cannot give any information or hints about them until the time is right. :)
For now, as this thread's main purpose was to introduce the producer over 6 months ago, I am locking it.
