Aions big 1.9 patch is on their test server, so I would think that is a reason why the lag has come up, the soulshot lag was so bad the last few days aswell.
I've had zero lag, zero soul shot lag recently. Maybe it's just you? or your ISP? It could be on NC Soft's end but bottom line even if NC Soft runs the most perfect servers known to man TONS of ppl will experience lag due to pc hardware issues, software issues, modem issues, router issues, isp issues, and trying to run multiple clients on a pc not designed to do such.
It actually started happening after the CM's visted! It's the elpies' fault!
Nah, but it has been a lot of people experiencing it as of late, lots of people in alliance and clan both connection lag to soulshot lag. The oulshot lag I really never had any problems with up untill this past week, though today has been pretty stable.
Playing from germany, i do have a huge lag to sayha since 4 or 5 weeks now. Usualy in the evening from 18:00 to 24:00 .. no lag in the early morning. No lag to the euro-server.
Someone got the Sayha IP?
I have a very nice desktop....the best internet civilian money can buy and the best network setup....and still can not play the game.....I could 2 weeks ago...but something has changed....im currently trying to resolve/figure out the issue but have had no success.....

Bartz is laggy for me. Experiencing a large number of disconnects, as well.
More details plz. The info you provide has no value.
I would suggest AT LEAST 10% (likely much more) of those who use the internet have issues on any given day. There are hardware issues, software issues, viruses, firewall issues, modem issues, router issues, isp issues. Each of these can affect your gaming experience in L2 and each can be perceived as lag, disconnects, etc. NONE of these have anything to do with NC Soft or their gaming servers.
Also, there are issues at times with the path taken from your pc to the NC Soft servers. On a few occasions I had major lag issues when I connected directly to L2, but when I used a proxy server the lag disconnected completely. This "test" proved two things....the issue was not anything on my end AND the issue was not on NC Soft's end, but on the path taken between us.
The one thing that is 100% certain.....no matter what game you play there will always be people who complain about lag/dc, and those people will always find plenty of others like them. I am NOT saying that there may not be a legitimate issue here. To find out you need to get past this "im lagging/dc'ing" generality and offer SPECIFIC information. Give to much info even!
Example (fictitious info):
I play L2 mostly between 6pm and midnight GMT+0 from England
I use DSL modem on a Windows XP pc with Intel 3.0 Ghz proc, NVidia P400 dual video cards, 4 GB RAM
I can play WoW and other online games fine but when I play L2 I lag even when on a freshly rebooted pc just sitting in Oren (an unpopulated town).
I play on Bartz server.
If EVERYONE provided info like the above then we can stop playing 20 questions and maybe start finding solutions. Either that or maybe someone should create "the official QQ I am lagging/dc'ing QQ thread" let it grow to 9999 pages and no one ever reads it.
i do have the lag from my home and from a friends dsl "5 blocks" away from me. Doubt its a NC failure .. would like to do a traceroute but i dont know the IP of sayha.

You seem new here.
I'm going to chalk it up to cluelessness and not rage upon you.
I'm been above giving details for about 1.5 years after giving details for the 25th or so time. I rather deactivate for another 4-6 months (seriously, ask anyone here who knows me) than go through the trouble of writing that kind of post again.
I switched ISPs today, so it's not on my end. The server is laggy (clicked to move, wait 2 seconds... oh, my char's moving now!), and it needs to be remedied.

I am fairly new, just 6 years.
How would you explain the other players next to you who do not experience the same lag you do?
Your change of ISP does eliminate one of the many possible issues. There is still your modem (unless that changed with your ISP), your router, your firewall, a virus on your pc, your old and new ISP taking a similar path to the NC Soft network, etc. Also there are many cases where 2 different ISPs use the identical lines to offer service. ISP #2 pays ISP #1 to use their lines. It's basically just different billing.
I understand your frustration but resolving the issue requires work on your end. If you are not willing to do the work, you are unlikely to have the issue resolved and all that's left is QQ on forums. I've done all I can. Good luck.
I don't get viruses. Haven't had one since DOS/Win16. I have 7 computers, so I have the luxury of not having to use good PCs that I game on to do . I only install needed applications, not everything under the sun like some people. I also don't run as Administrator, so a Virus would have a hard time installing itself on my PCs through that and IE8 Protected Mode, anyways. Only I use my computers.
I use a Hardware Firewall, and I have the ports for L2 Open. I don't run software firewalls on my computers. Only computers within my network are allowed to access ports on my computers (for development purposes, but I can shut that down in 3 clicks if I wanted).
I have already done traceroutes. The ping is fine and there are no dropped packets on route to NCSoft servers. I'm yawning, now.
The ISPs I use don't share lines because there are no lines to share. They don't get their bandwidth from the same provider (I checked this). Neither of them are resellers. I switched because the new ISP has less issues with reliability. Reliability IRT dropped connections, not performance regressions (i.e. it works, it just slowed down a bit... that didn't really happen, ever). Also, I got the same speed for $20 less per month. My Internet is DSL speed with DSL ping, not a crappy Satellite connection.
I play 2 other MMORPG games and there are no lag issues in those games. One of them being much more "graphically" intensive than L2 and requiring probably twice the computing firepower to run smoothly (which it does).
It's server lag, and you're sounding like a terrible customer service representative right now.
So my last recommendation as a terrible customer service rep would be....
If you believe the issue is on NC Soft's end the next step would be to open a Support ticket. Their tech support rep's are VERY responsive. They will run you through a series of tests checking your pc for viruses, current drivers, trace routes, etc. Whether the issue is on your end or theirs, this process is the way to help find the root cause.
That is the system for resolving this type of issue. It's a good one. I highly doubt their tech support reps read these forums much :)
