GG and nice find ;)
so about 2 mil of PlayNC accounts have gone up to the world, excluding other NC games how much % of that belongs to L2 ? IMHO most of our accs are in there. The author says that the more valuable account is [lv,cash, gear etc] the more is risked for a ****, so when you think about it it, the most endengered ppl are the botters with their 85 lv toons and multi billion cash stock in wh :D
Time to change all ur info I guess! Any comments from GM/CM/Dev?

Contrary to popular belief changing your password does not help in fact it might make you more vulnerable because you will constantly write a new password down till your remember it.

From when a hacker receives a password to they actually use is its less then an 8 hour turnaround then they never try to use the password again.

So unless your changing your password every 8 hours its not point in changing in once. You just have to be smart about your password not make them obvious mix number letters and special and upper and lower case letters together.

I know people who had the same passwords for their accounts for over 10 years now (prior L1 players) and never changed their master password once and never gotten hacked.

If you have more then one computer in your house, do not surf the web with the same computer you do your banking or gaming with and you will never have to worry about getting hacked.
quit using the interwebs and you dont have to worry about anymore either :D
Nc's L2 team doesn't have the manpower to restore that many stolen accounts.
It would be a good security measure if NCsoft includes an alternate way to introduce the game password using the mouse. Some kind of pop-up keyboard window (or integrated to the game login screen), which displays the letters/numbers (in a random order every time it's displayed). This would make it a lot more difficult to the keyloggers/trojans to steal our credentials.
Don’t buy timecards from suspicious web sites (adena selling ones, for example), don’t share your account, don’t execute suspicious files, keep your OS updated, keep an eye on the process that are running in your system, use an antivirus and a firewall and you should be quite safe.

just log in using the on-screen keyboard, from accesibility features on the start menu

But, it is not their problem - "your" computer got a virus, be thankfull that they are helping you.
Saw that last week. According to the author, they used game sites - fan site, forum, and otehr sites like adena selling sites etc. If you visit the infected sites, or click on an ad, the trojan is downloaded to the computer. This would be amjor problem for people who use cyber cafe because you never know if the computer you are using is safe at all.
I'm looking for more of a official response to his considering the release of news there whole database was vulnerable to this for a certain time and what save measures they attempt to deploy now considering there incompetence is obviously not at fault here as has been the issue in the past.

In game server announcements? "Play Safe"? rofl
