Remember when we spawned swarms of elpies on Talking Island to practice for a future event? Well, here it is! The Elpies From The Past is a scheduled GM event that will take you back to areas that you used to XP in, and the elpies will be dropping a lot more loot than during our test-runs.
Unfortunately, we'll be really busy with this event, so we probably won't be around on any one server for very long. If we get a chance to hang out and give out buffs afterwards, we certainly will! ^^ Have fun, everyone!
DO the Non Top server clans a favor and put the elphys some out of town but some IN town so we dont all go out there and get Pked by the Main clans and lose exp buffs and all that stuff.... if you put all the elphys out of town im warning you, only the top clans will be happy for this event everyone else will give you on the forums because they got pked and lost exp
1) Elpies are 1-hit KO, so whoever do the biggest AOE, will get all the drop (there's killer pick first rule). Therefore, a party of 2 warlord with AOE wizards and few pickup crews will clean the event.
2) It seems the event is on Talking Island, and Elpies are outside of town. This is asking for a PVP festival, or top-clans get all festival. You may say there are NPC guards on Talking Island, well, I can say any level 70+ can slay them easy.
In addition, people don't have to go red, seeing that this event is AOE-able, just go purple on someone in your party, and go to fools that are doing AOE, vola! GANK! FTWPWAN!
However, I have a feeling that the elpies will be 1-hit KO and will be outside of town on Talking Island. Gotta stock up on CP pots now.

last time i was too slow to make it out anywhere where the action was, and got 0 reward... i tried, i was even first out the talking island, i just ran out the wrong gate... killed a few Elpies, but apparently they were not the event ones.
i doubt i will get anything from this event except for maybe a bit of xp loss...
i do have some pretty schwank aoe skills though.

been re-reading the event page and it does not say that it will be out of town or only on TI for that matter.... so until the event starts we really do not know where the elpies will be at.
Dont get me wrong, its nice that there are some events again but...
when will be the next one we can seriously participate in?
That 2 hour Vita buff is just a click and run thing - the elpy event will be just a huge scene of people flaming each other to the bones....
I miss the times when you didnt got everything stuffed in the butt and had at least to farm some event items to get a reward for your work.

I really suggest u hold events on available periods for everyone

there are 2 things you overlooked:
there are 3 euro but 5 us servers
euro servers = 2 timezones vs. us servers = 4 times zones
so imho it's reasonable that time window is larger for us servers then for euro servers :)
Last time they did this someone got an error message when trying to use an aoe attack with a spear inside a peace zone.
Yes, just like you said, aoe skills that don't need a target are blocked in peacezone, however those that need a target do work just like other skills that need a target.

As explained on the event page, the event will start in 20 minute increments depend on which server we start on first each day. Teon started about 10 minutes ago, and we are currently setting up another EU server. As soon as that one is done, the last EU server will be serviced.

I went to look on Franz and it was total waste of my time. I didn't even see an elpy. I asked around and apparently someone knew someone who knew someone who had an uncle who had a cousin that knew a guy that apparently saw an elpy... maybe.

monney on ports like that there is NO WAY IN HELL u can afford a
A-grade set at lvl 61.
This was one of the worst - if not THE worst event ever made on a RETAIL server.
Tried it both on Franz - school of dark arts and on Teon in Cruma swamp.
I saw 2 elpies in cruma swamp , none in school of dark arts. Got 0 drops and waited 3 hours for the event to start. You're proably the worst GM's ever. I saw people on trains farming Elpies and people using radar to find the Elpies.
But I guess its the American way - take all by any means. Last event you did was actually fun on TI, but when taking in consideration You spend time preparing this event and the outcome - again in cheaters favor - was a dissaster.
But I whine ofc - No wonder people bot and use 3rd party programs, when you encourage them to do it by making these events. Now lets see where i can find a Radar programme.

oh yes what a win event! one hour event spawn one time only elpy they get owned in 5-10 mins and then what?..
only the most powerfull clans where albe to farm cause they had info from other servers..
i think in reading about the event, i knew it wouldnt be something major. they stated in the details they wouldnt be on the server for very long, just to spawn and go. my only hope is that on the last day, the vesper armor reward is a set and not a piece. due to the fact that very few vesper armor pieces have been farmed on most servers. i doubt a vesper armor piece could really be sold. now if that person was to get the set, they could use it for themselves in oly or they could sell it and get the epics they have been saving for, the 300 vesper wep they always wanted or whatever.

Its the third time i think u are doing mistakes with the Timezones and the Event time...
4PM PDT = 12AM GMT on the web site it says 11pm
ive got very confused and was w8ing event to start so i looked to find what time is 4 pm PDT for me and i realized that the site is wrong.
My clanmates waited for the elpies from the planned 6:00 PM to the announcement at 8:15 PM, when they didn't see any elpy. I'm happy I wasn't there, they're disgusted. Another fiasco from NCsoft. Even with the best will to give nice stuff to players, they fail. :(
The planned was 6:00 PM GMT (8:00 PM server time). The announcement went live around 8:10 PM server time (6:10 PM GMT). What the hell is your problem, not used to converting time zones? :)

For those who are still confused and on Teon, I put up a list of all events for Teon on Unity's web site (http://www.unionally.net/), free for public viewing. They are there in "server time zone" and the current time of the server is displayed on the top right, too. So now you can easily both know how much your local time differs from the server time, and when the events are supposed to start in that time zone.

perhaps you failed economics class, i do not mean this as a major burn but ways of making money has been discussed many times. for me, i have 3 accounts between my wife and i. we use spirit shots on two toons and soulshots on the other. we leveled in catacombs and found it very easy to obtain the adena we needed by selling AA. we also noted that the adena drops we got from leveling paid for the cost of shots. we do have a crafter to craft our shots, bought ore in the cheapest town and bought shots from sellers in town(and we crushed whole drops). this has afforded us the gear we wanted, which wasnt always top but was the best. we have been playing this game for a long time now, however for an inexperienced person who dies alot, it would only be easier to rake up the adena needed. i find it hard to believe anyone has problems making the adena required to get the gear you need.
not to be mean or anything but I crashed on my accounts when I tried to port & run to soda on Teon (hi l2bin) and by the time i got back in (30 seconds) there was mass pvp and no more Elpies..
it's nice to spawn lots of Elpies but if your doing it on a server of which the mayority of the players use radar they're gone really fast..
the idea is nice but you're better off spawning them on fantasy island and have them respawn for 1hr long so everyone can have an equal chance, if needed lower the drop rate even more just make it last longer as it took less then 3min on Teon to kill all Elpies..

first they make an initial annoucement, something about spotting elpies somewhere. Then a min later or so they announce where they are.
I happened to be a port away at the time and ended up getting gm buffs, and quite a few elpies. Not all elpies drop stuff though, and mostly I got mats...and rivita pops ^^ Wasn't too much competition for them, lots of people but seemed to be enough to go around.
They announce the location and they continually spawn, everyone has a chance to get something so it's worth the effort. Overall my experience with it on Sayha was good, it was quite fun. I only wish they spawned in more locaions to spread out the crowd more.
There was an ok amount of elpies, and splitting it up in two different spots (soda and cruma marshland) split up the people somewhat, so I guess everybody got at least something. Ten revita pops isn't so bad :)

I got nothing, just wasted 2h wating for an event, then when went to soda an found FS pking people, 300 people more causing a stupid lag and nothing else.
Cruma was not as bad but still could not find nothing that was not a elpy corpse.
Please spawn those thing on more places, and FIX the time it will start.
I got 4 Vita pops, Kinda wish they changed the places, but true enough being a lot of extra work so i can understand. Was fun though, and it looks Nova got some pvp that they wanted (pking people that ported in).

I won't complain about the actual time (no point in getting into a "you chose to play on a US server" argument again), that is not the problem (the one day when it really sucks, 3am to 5am, I will simply leave out). The problem is that it is a 2h window and the spawn can happen at any time during those 2 hours. Which means that if you want a realistic chance of getting drops, you have to stand at a gatekeeper for 2 hours and have your eyes on the chat window all that time so that you see the announcement when it pops up. Today on Phoenix that meant waiting for 1h40 or so after the official start time - just standing in town, not being able to do anything else. That sucked. I was already done with my xping for this day and just waited for the event to be over so I could go to bed, but for the US players, this waiting in town ruined their whole xp evening.

The big problem i have noticed on many people is the advantage higher classes had over lower ones specially new players.
Its rare this days but there is still new people in game, and off course telling go to Cruma or School of Dark Arts will mean exactly the same as telling them that I have a dragon called Valakas and it can kill a lot of people alone!
Many other players have also made or logged on low alts to use free teleports over the world, but again fast classes took the advantage for that and specially ranged classes where dominating the collecting.
This is the point I notice a failure on the event, for those players is just impossible to move with the speed they need to even see one live Elpi.
OK they also as new would not take a great advantage from vitality, but they still deserve same chances and rewards, and those are who real need mats, drops, etc.
So this is the only issue i think was totally missed on this event.
Personally was fun to see so many people around running like crazy to get the elpies and trying to kill the same.

Was a bit dissapointed, was hoping I could also get some fun -maybe kill 1 elpy?- and all this waiting for nothing. :)
Hope next time elpies will get summoned like 5m after the announcement, so all people can have a little bit of fun. :)
Also, I hope it's not seen as a great expectation to be able to kill one elpy! I was also hoping this could last a bit more than 20sec. :)

second of all....im a new toon. only been playing the game 8 months and have a few lvl 50-60 toons and i did just fine killing elpies and getting rewards. and teleporting isnt that expensive? I craft soulshot like most people to get money and in just a few hours a day i have around 60million by the end of the week...soooo whats YOUR problem? make it happen for urself...no one here is going to hold your hand.

Pretty much my only complaint with the event as well: There are still a lot of players who don't have (or actively play) Noblesse characters, so please - next time spawn the elpies where people with Noblesse ports don't have an advantage.
Please increase the amount and spawn frequency of elpies so everybody gets a chance of hitting at least one. Yesterday I could even see one! Only people running in all directions trying to find something that didn't exist.
Also, when exactly did the event finished? Did I miss the announcement for the end of event?
How much time should we hunt for the elpies?
Please make it such that all players have fun with it.
The planned was 6:00 PM GMT (8:00 PM server time). The announcement went live around 8:10 PM server time (6:10 PM GMT). What the hell is your problem, not used to converting time zones? :)

For those who are still confused and on Teon, I put up a list of all events for Teon on Unity's web site (http://www.unionally.net/), free for public viewing. They are there in "server time zone" and the current time of the server is displayed on the top right, too. So now you can easily both know how much your local time differs from the server time, and when the events are supposed to start in that time zone.

Usually they give the time zone of the servers, so I didn't pay attention. Who cares about GMT if the servers are GMT+2? ;)

Currently there are 7 pages of posts, people fall in to one of two sections:
1) People disliked the event because even if you were as fast as physically possible then you can still fail to take something at all.
and
2) Thoes people who got really lucky and somehow managed to bag some loot.
There seems to be little middle ground at all, the most frustrating thing about getting nothing was the time issues of the event. I logged in early to get prepared and move to a centeral location and take some buffs but it still didnt help. If time frames are that close that unless you are waiting by a gatekeeper buffed and ready then you are forced to stop exp/raids/fortress seige other wise you have no hope in hell to get anywhere.
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate events, but It can be a bit frustrating.
Why in the heck are the GM's in PM refusal mode? Considering the number of times you guys actually show up, I would think it's okay to interact with playerbase you support.

event lasts about 20 minutes from the in-game announcement based on yesterdays elpy spawn. I counted 4 separate respawns in the SoDA rooms. I saw spawns of 4-5 elpies of which 1-2 drop loot.

the problem is elpies are lvl ?1 mobs. They are dark blue so instead of dropping vita pots at a rate of about 70%, the drops are nerfed due to your level difference. You need to kill about 5 elpies to get 1 drop on average. Ofc some individuals are more or less lucky, but that seems to be the average.
The best drop rate would be achieved if you made a lvl 14 wizard for the event, get skills, then delevel it to 5. Make a party with your wizard on finder's keepers. Let the wizard kill and you pick up on your main. Even if you kill half the # of elpies you will wind up with more then double the amount of vita pots this way.
1) Calm down guys, this event goes for a full week so this was only the first day where you had a chance to get some rewards, you have 6 more chances...
2) Nobody says everyone will get anything but with 7 chances normally nearly everyone should get something.
3)I was a solo player with self buffs and got 6 vita sticks (maybe i was lucky but who cares)even with people around who tryed to make me flag or to pk. So you see its not impossible to get some.
4)heads up and try it again :)
5)ty for the event and some variation to the normal grind in the evening
Overall I would thank NC Soft for a great event! We asked for this event, the CMs heard our requests and offered this event. We should all be thankful and show some appreciation!
Also I liked very much how the elpies were spawned in two different areas and not just one. Even though both areas were extremely crowded, it did split the crowd up.
For those who didn't like the event, you don't have to participate. By the screenshots of crowds in various towns this event is clearly EXCELLENT. There are a LOT of people who logged on specifically because of the event, and may players altered their gaming plans to participate in the event. The biggest complaint seems to be there is too much interest (i.e. too many people). Well that sounds like a successful event to me!
A couple suggestions which might improve the event....
1. Maybe the elpies lvl 8x with 1hp and 1 pdef. Why? Because they are dark blue mobs to anyone over lvl 10 (i.e. everyone) which means the drop rate of the actual items are very low.
2. Increase the # of elpies spawned or the respawn rate. There will still be some players who are unhappy because they didn't get an elpy, or didn't find enough, but there will be less of them.
Guys, this event is L2 at it's norm. It requires camping like most of the best things in L2 (i.e. epic raids like Baium). It requires moving VERY fast like when zariche/akamanah drops. It requires killing VERY fast, picking up the drops, and moving on to the next mob. If you are unhappy there are things you can do to adjust! Does your char not kill fast enough? Change to a sub! Got pk'd? Well make a party today and go together, then 100% focus the pk char and drop it. You can also bring a 40- char with the blessing of protection for the event. Not ideal but it works.
I had fun. I was one of the first at SoDA and only came out with 6 vita pops, another 79 WR got around 13, a 68 BD got 27, another lvl 73 toon got around 20. So you don't need noble toons for these events, and the rates do seem a bit low for higher levels, but even getting 6 for myself I am pretty happy about it. If anyone is nerfed it's servers with 3 warring sides, they had to deal with the PvP which was funny and fun to watch. Oh, and someone did get a clownfish hat or whatever on Devianne.
I don't believe anyone on Devianne even saw a GM during our turn, nor did we hear any announcement that it has ended. Oh well, can't wait for todays events!

LOL, All you people do is cry. I was in School of Dark Arts with 4 other people in party and got 10 vit pops+lots of mats. There was prob over 150 people in there. And no I didn't pvp for spots or pk anyone. Get an organized party and you can do almost anything in this game.

The event is good and I like it, I only have one complaint and I know alot of people won't care about it. I liked it better when you didn't announce it *even though 50% of the time I was at work* for the simple fact. Devianne has more Greeks then anything I like when I come home and its pretty much dead so I can exp without idiots. But now everyone is online for the fact they want Revita Pops and Soul Crystals etc. So instead of 30 people showing up we had the whole **** server and I didn't have a chance to get more then 5. It actually sucked alot lol It would have normally been dead and I would have gotten 20+. But hey that is my complaint and I'm stickin to it!
Don't get me wrong I'm happy for it, just sad I'll only be able to go to 2 more due to work schedule conflict! Thanks for the event though!

Thanks for clearing up the default chat restrictions on GM's. Seems kinda weird, but at least I know why they're like that now. And thanks for now announcing the end of it. That was really needed.
Great improvements today. The mobs were spawned in 3 spots instead of 2. All 3 spots were very crowded, but not as bad as it would have been otherwise. The announcing of the end was nice too.
I must say the past few months the work of the CM's has been better then at any time before in L2 history. Honestly I never even really noticed the CMs before, but now your team is really making a positive difference for the players.

Well when hunting elpys, make a shout "Gm buffs please" and wait a bit and you will get it. :)
Hell of a maze.. spawn started like 5 min after other places and 1 in each corner of that huge maze. Didnt found a single one alive today.. GF
I just think GM waited a bit before spawning elpys in SoDA because some non noble players are disavantaged, so they waited them to come "manually" to launch elpys :D
Anyway i have a suggestion. I don't know if it's possible for you, but it could be better to change the Location between each servers . I know it's more work, but well it's more funny for us players :D
This time all people were already inside Elven Ruins, SODA and Enchanted Valley XD
yesterday on teon it was quite cool couse gms was spawning elpies manually so everyone was able to get some even on high population locations :)
and the duration wasnt 5min just ~20min

- the groups are spawned following a path (of the invisible GM), you can go from one group to the next and AoE to get them all (or most of them)
- GM buffs if you're lucky to meet one, that's nice
- not in peace zone : got PKed by one of the iBot of SH, but globally there was only wartag victims. On another server I don't know what it would have been.
- some players manage to get a lot of revita pops (like 30+) but most of players seem to get less than 10. Are there drops by 10, or did they find a very efficient way to get them?
Got 6 revita pop, some mats (including metalol hardener), gm buffs, and -4% on my sub (so, not important). Maybe I'll do better next time.

I dunno..i don't do anything and have gotten gm buffs both times so far. Just drive by gm buffing O.O I haven't seen the gms (i'm on dev too) but they've been nice enough to give me buffs ^^
Cant say i enjoy the elpys event so far on frantz server
First day the 1 spot was camped by enemys and the other was full of neutrals,it was more like pvp than event,many people got untag to kill elpys(lol),neutrals took the best part.
Second day 3 spots,i went to the spot all my clan went,i saw a group of elpys,only had the chance of killing 1 since everyone was after them,again spot was fulled of neutrals and untags,drops were lol mats like metal hardener and herbs.
I know 3-4 clannies took revitas and clown hats,but its an event for high speed race/classes(kamaels,elfs).Also the number of elpys is really low compared to the number of players and the time the event last is very short.
Event should be like the bunnys event on fantasy island,last for 30' at least and spawn elpys with a ground notify message in an open area so every race has the chance to patrol around the ground .They could choose big fields,there are so many in low lvls areas.

- Event was delay almost 40min - so ppl wait not 1h but almost 2h for start and theres no was even "sorry for delay" from GMs.
- Most revita pop goes to iBot ally T - couse they botted highest lvl/enhants/power.
- After couples minutes (5-10 when elpys was finished) start PKing from iBot clan.
So start of event on Luna was big mistake. And increase power mostly of botters so almost all was disapointed.
So doubles minus for NCSoft for bad start of event and still do nothing with adena seller/selling powerlvl/chars of iBot ally T (everyone knows that but GMs always have close eyes)
Anyway: hope that today and next days will be better.

Personally, I don't mind losing some % because I'll gain that and then some with my pops and the other items are nice as well.
Give the GM's some credit, its a great event period- plus they are listening to suggestions as they already said they would announce the end of event (by suggestion).
On top of that, you get two weeks of 2 hr vit 4 buff, and if you're smart you'll run out your bars, vit buff, run em out again (for two weeks).
Could you people QQ more? I'm loving it, my tyrant and wife's bd will be mid 70's thanks to this event, and my SE could probably hit 78 by dragging it behind my tyrant....

Last time I looked, Luna is a Euro server. And being a Euro server that means their event window is only supposed to be open for an hour.
IMO, this event is one of the better events. I hate that I can only be on for the event during Mon, Tue & Wed because the other evenings I have obligations but that's just the way it is :-)
This event may very well be my favorite event. The eplies need to drop A LOT MORE, like each one should be a L2 pinata and explode with tons of goodies from each Eply! haha.
I was surprised to see how quickly the "automated players" came in and took every eply in every room last night and that people would have to stones to be on program at a GM sponsored event.
I was disappointed in only 1 respawn of Eplies.
The event is decent but still needs improvement before the final day when all the good stuff drops. Still, all in all a very decent event.

Who cares about the event for radar and walkers. I gave up - more for bots.
Only if these elpies did not die so fast to high lvl aoe'r spell/skill so every player class get an equal chance to kill it. And they should be tough like the piggy event (notes: I love the transform super piggies, the little pippy merge into one and are super tough, need many players to take them down)

Ok since there is summer time in europe (70% of the server) whats the poitn of giving incorrect time?
GMT is NEVER offset for daylight savings time. GMT is absolute. The timezones are instead changed.
For example: the UK changes over to BST (British Summer Time) [GMT+1].

It is not incorrect, it is just your own responsibility to know how far away from the "base" GMT your country is on any given date. For example, if you are in Germany right now, you have to know that the local time is in GMT+2, so you have to add 2 hours to the time in the event description.
They can't exactly post the local time for every country in the world.
just give everyone 100 vita pops imo... this event is ******ed. 90% of the ones i do get to kill are empty. everyone knows the spawn places b4 they are anounced and the rabbits spawn and are aoed b4 the announcment.
its kinda insane that i run around like crazy and still get 2 or 3 pops, others get 15, still others get 0.... kinda imba.
i really dont care about vita but imho i should have the same advantage as anyone else to lvl up w/ a ton of vita pops, but im unlucky or dont have a fast enough shot or aoe so no xp for me :(
i also think any event w/ such a restricted 15-20 minute time table is stupid. i would suggest making the elpys spawn 24/7 like the old raid boss event... no announcment, you jus happen across a huge field of elpy and get to kill some.
Well the event is... Let's just say it doesn't make me want to reactivate my accounts or even participate. It's obviously favorable to classes with fast run speed and 1100 range (i.e. Archers, Daggers, Tyrants) as well as those with fast cast speed or AoE attacks (like SPS, etc.).
Can't even say how many times I've spotted an elpy and an Archer hit it from Kingdom come before my nuke even touched it, not to mention if there are any nearby my chances of getting to them are nil because I am the slowest class in the game.
There were like 100+ people in Sea of Spores, and like 25 bots killing elpies.
They should have just spawned them randomly, everywhere.
A clannie did get 19 Revita Pops, though... On his Archer sub.

tbh archer isnt bad but i faired much better on tyrant sub of my alt... better run speed, faster aoe.
i dont understand the logic of a event that is favorable to 1stly walker/radar users, 2nd aoers, 3rd ppl that can drop what they are doing or be home for such a small window of time.
Who cares about the event for radar and walkers. I gave up - more for bots.
I thought it was funny watching parties all run into a wall down in elven fortress, and then turn around and going back to the center of the room. Almost like they were targeting things in other rooms and trying to kill them. Sounds very legitz.
And the whole running into walls and turning direction on dime is as simple as making a /target elpy macro.
How long have you guys been playing for? It's so simple. For shh... and giggles, I'm going to do it on my SLOW as **** dwarf with only wind walk and I bet I'll come out with more than 10, it is possible, a FS clannie got 14 today on his speedy dwarf in SoS!

this event is not so great for me.
if i really had to, i'd make this rhyme a three.
so i started in Spores, but too far between each group, i lost to everyone, nukers, tyrants, even a warlord at one point.
lucked out and got one, almost another, but lagged behind a rock.
i switched to Elven fortress, but it was packed.
i some how stumbled across 2 groups randomly, and managed to get my aoe off, so... did better than spores.
meanwhile friend at elven ruins managed to score 16 groups, lucky him.

Well... my clannie plays necro as well, and first day he got over 20 pops, yesterday 13.
Yesterday I got 7 pops in elven fort as cardi on inquisitor, basically staying in one room and farming 1 respawn. I had some competition (including EE that was using single target spell...) but I missed only 2 spawns :) . It's all about beeing in right place and right time... And with such zerg running around and clearing everything, I wouldn't bother running (cause indeed you can't compete with fast classes) but stay in one room and be fast at clicking :P

I am trying harder, in another game. Right now.
It's not surprising that lots of people are having issues with others KSing the Elpies before they can get to it. Lots of melee classes in clan have gotten like 0-5 revita pops, but Archers are walking out of there with 10-20+ at times.
Perhaps SODA and Elven Fortress is better an event that doesn't do much more than give you some XP potions is not enough reason for me to log in at these unorthodox times to camp a low level zone to kill 1 shot level 1 MOBs.
They should have made the Elpies spawn everywhere, and have a level similar to the MOBs in the area where it spawns.
Also, Orfen running around killing people who can't even attack it back without getting paralyzed/silenced is not cool (no, it didn't kill me).

I usually log off during events anyways, so the fact that I'm underwhelmed isn't really surprising. I guess my general boredom with the game does nothing but amplify it.
Try getting 20 in Sea of Spores.
It's not worth my time to run all the way to Elf Village area, and chances are there will be someone camping every room there hours before the event even starts.

H4T3MONG3Rjust give everyone 100 vita pops imo... this event is ******ed. 90% of the ones i do get to kill are empty. everyone knows the spawn places b4 they are anounced and the rabbits spawn and are aoed b4 the announcment.

to agree, this event is worthless. It only last for a couple minutes and there is nothing of value. If you have to use the restroom, etc, you are SOL. Just give everyone 5 vita pops everyday that they log in. That is all anyone really cares about. Or, make the vitality buffs last for four hours rather than 2.
In reality, makes the severs 4x Xp normal.
And why did the xp in the catacombs/necroplois' get reduced?
On the first day, I had 5 vitapops (some in ally had 19, I was on the wrong side of NCSoft Random(tm))
I missed the next day, and last night I had 3 vitapops...
but what was more "interesting" was that the elven ruins was full of greedy idiots running about pking people for rooms... I miss the old PK days, but in those days it wasn't a level 85 greedmonkey. :D
i went to sea of spores and got the petrified raid cursed out of no where so i wasn't able to get as many elpys as i could have(was ****** for a moment) But it went away before it should have. So I don't know if there was an invisble GM or something spawning elpys but if whoever made it go poof can see this, thanks. After the raid curse disappeared i still got 9 revita pops and a B-rez scroll. Sure pheonix may not be as populated as say teon, but I don't see how it's useless unless it's a dead server. Just figure out where you are good at. I was only getting 2-3 the first 2 nights because i was doing it all wrong, once i started going to the place that benefited my character better, was a LOT better for me, even with spending a large chunk of time petrified.
Last night was probably the worst of the 3 nights so far, just based on the fact that there seemed to be a lot more people than the first two and the elpys were a lot more spread out. Could have just been the zone choice as well. I was curious to see how many more people logged in that normal but the server stats are down (probably due to overload).

The event is for classes with ranged aoe skills that can take out a whole group of elpies in one hit. Only one elpy in each group drops anything, so if you try to kill them one by one odds are high that someone else will kill the rest and get the drop.
If your main is a slow single mob killing WC like me you're screwed. I tried with a pole but with the lack of skills and speed makes me feel ridiculously, hopelessly gimped for this task. You're better off switching to an alt or a sub with the right qualifications.

I'm glad you took the time to read my signature and make a comment. If you know WO then you know it doesn't have extremely high level classes nor does anyone cheat to succeed in every aspect of the game. This event has been working out nicely for a "non-factor", neutral clan.
