I know alot of people without active wars that would love the chance to siege or actively compete in TW and fortress pvp. Carebear are ppl that in game, with the fight system it have, they avoid the fight to not have problems with other clans in the future. So they prefer gave up from a castle siege, or a fort siege afraid to have problems with big clans and cant exp. They usualy enjoy go for discover the scenario and exp alt toons :P
Ppl usualy here call carebears ppl that dont fight the cheaters, like said already, but they forget they have their own wars with medium clans, do sieges, TW etc.

This is the exact reason why current definition of carebear stands, all those examples you just mentioned are pvp without consequence. Why should you need a reason to pvp other than pvping for the sake of pvping? Is it only fun if you know that your precious XP won't be touched?

ClearlyClueless and Divine as they were prior to any mention of a merge were not a competitive force against Nova. The only enemy worth anything was FS, and that was only due to their sheer numbers, and not because they were skilled players. However, if you want to continue to beat a dead horse, CC was recruited to increase Nova's euro presence to effectively allow Nova to COMPETE for Euro boss spawns and to even the numbers up between FS and Nova. Nova is now fighting at 2:1 or 3:2 odds against FS, instead of 3:1 or 4:1 odds against FS. It is easy to criticize, but I doubt you would even show up to pvp at those odds.
Also, why would I need to use radar when enemies don't exist when I play? :(
And targeting and assisting is difficult yo! I need the PROGRAMZ to click robe classes pumping out heals and to right click the party window.

Look at the lowbie pvp wars that go on in Phoenix, I.E. the ElOlimpo epidemic. It's pretty much the same thing. What point are you trying to get here?

The WAY it must be played? Theres no right way to play this game as long as you are in accord to the game laws. But, most open pvpers don't want to pvp, they want to pvp only if they can have a huge advantage over the oponent i most cases, there are very few real open pvpers at l2.

I've had it reported to my clan leader once previously, and while I was in Nova I was running from one spot to another and dropped 10 mobs on a full party, and they wiped and the leader honest to God DEMANDED brezzes for his party. I went back to look at what I destroyed...a couple of toons in NM armor, one in AVADON ROBES, and a couple of DC robe mages with SoM's, and a poler with a Tallum Glaive. Theeeeeen I turned around and went back to what I was doing lol.

CP auto spamming, whether legit or something that NCSoft apparently "recently" created called macros, is done in pvp to prevent death not because of exp, but from...pvp. Have you ever seen any use of a dead tank? Or a dead healer? The point of using CP pots in pvp is to stay alive longer to help your group win a fight. That bolded word? something you've obviously never seen before.

Why does it always come down to name calling with you, man? I've been playing this game since it's inception. I've seen how so called "factor" clans play the game. I've argued with guys on bleh that openly admit to all of the things I have detailed here. I've watched elite people play afk, I've reported soooo many of them and even got to sit in the location they were botting in and watched them get banned (thanks to the GM's that let me do that). I'm not making this stuff up, I'm not talking out of the side of my neck, it's what happens in game and you know it.
Why are there no "factor" clans with strong stances against botting, hacking, RMT, or buying toons? When you come up with a good answer for that one, I'll be waiting.

A carebear, for me , is somebody who doesn't try to be efficient. It is somebody who doen't try new thing, he only follow and never take any new decision. A carebear will first play for his self fun, like most of them i think, but without trying to do something to be like "top players"

Being human is loaded with flaws and inadequacies. While I used to pride myself on being a pro gamer, there is only so much a person can do with just manual dexterity on a keyboard. Sure, for every 3000 people, there may be one or two people that just have real skillful fingers, but it would be even more rare if all these people somehow found each other in a game and put together a dominating clan.
Radar programs allow you to bypass certain human and/or hardware problems. When you can set up a priority list and then allow the program to pick targets for you, even if you lag all you have to do is keep spamming the attack button and run around. You completely bypass limitations that legit players may run into. And like Phoenix said, you will know the class of people you're attacking. Switching armors and the like doesn't fool the program.

It isn't difficult to run around hit F1 (force attack), then pressing your CP macro ask fast as your finger can go up and down, which should be pretty quick (F3 for me). Then have secondary attack skills on F2 and F4 (for me aggression, shackle). Then using your mouse to continue to target and clicking skills that have longer cool downs (Song of Silence, Medusa, etc).
i'm considered carebear by most simply because i have no interest in feeding the desires of those that prefer to cheat, even when i have the upper hand in rare occasions...
i am neither concerned about xp, or anything else really, i just have no interest in giving a select few the pleasure.... and if they do manage it, i won't give them the pvp, i'll commit suicide rather then provide them with a pvp point just for fun of it. I'll take a mob death :p

im gonna have to say anyone who has played counterstrike is probably 100 times better at cp pot spamming than those who have not.

Here's a story for ya:
I was hunting on an alt in the Fields of Massacre. There was a guy there that was running a kamael archer bot. I hit him a few times and after about 40 minutes he comes back to his computer and PM's me,
"Yes"...he said
"Stop botting", I replied. "If you have to cheat there's no reason to play."
With the bot still running around hunting, he told me to mind my own business. He also started to rant about how I would never be pro at the game, because this is how all the top players play. He told me he had already leveled up a level 82 character and he didn't want to go through the grind again with a new character. He also told me that if I reported him, I would just be losing more characters on an already dead server. The more I tried to convince him that he shouldn't play this way, the more he called me a loser.
This is how "Top" players play.
There is no secrets to playing L2. You have a good stacked group, you hunt, you kill. big deal. It's not like so-called "top" players have more savvy or more skill. They just will do anything that it takes to win. More often than not that means cheating.
I've seen unwarred legit clans organize great raids, with excellently stacked parties, and superb leadership, but they still can't manage to bridge the gaps between them and those that have exploited and cheated their way to the top of the food chain. So these guys used to play with the hope that one day NCSoft will get up and shut down these rule breakers, but many have lost heart and given up and so siege fields became empty and epic raids go unchallenged. And believe me, it's not because the other players are better than they are. It's because some people have more principles and honor when it comes to competitive play.
I know..I know...it's just a game right? Well why not just allow players to carry firearms onto the soccer field for the world cup. When other players get in their way, just blow them away so they can get an easy score. Why not? It's just a game.
Why not allow baseball players to carry the bat with them from plate to plate and knock out all the players they encounter so they can get a good home run? I mean...it's just a game, right?
Why not make basketball goals 7 feet wide on one side of the court and keep it normal on the other side. The home team should be able to shoot at the 7ft goal, and the other team has to play blindfolded? It's just a game, right?

OldSchool Enmity, X, Synergy etc can tell you stories about some of the people that "rule" now. Hint. I have no idea who you are IG, or what clan you are in (gonna take a stab at Nova though lol). I'd love to have a go at an epic raid boss and if you know a group of people that could use a lvl 78 PP(yah i know, rather abysmal) I'd be 100% all for it, including the attempted fight of other people.
Oh, I'm in a "carebear" clan xD but when it comes to that kinda stuff i don't mind dieing or killing, Though... I very much doubt that a 78 PP will be very much help against the 80+ guys that we would be fighitng.
P.S. If i'm on my main and someone tries to attack me, I'll do what i can and return last possible second, but i won't just stand there and just take a loss. (Though most of the hgiher people can kill me before i have time to do much more then return now adays)

Why should they want to? What's the fun in running up against a bunch of **** users and bot abusers? Here's the funny part...people don't mind better players. Back in the day, I used to give props to guys that stayed in game and leveled quickly. There were maybe 6 or 7 guys on Sieghardt that just dedicated their lives to the game upfront. But people nowadays aren't better players, they're just plug-and-play losers. Not only do people not have any respect for them, most people don't even want to contend with them. Back in the day, I used to give props to guys that stayed in game and leveled quickly. There were maybe 6 or 7 guys on Sieghardt that just dedicated their lives to the game upfront. But people nowadays aren't better players, they're just plug-and-play losers. Not only do people not have any respect for them, most people don't even want to contend with them. That's why guys like you are bored in game. It's such a small pool of players with your mind set although you really like to think that you're the majority. You can only kill the same 15 people so many times, right? What I am is a guy that's played L1 since its inception and then I migrated to L2 and I've been here since the first day anyone could log in and play. I've seen many, many clans bot and cheat in game.

It would be stupid to assume that everyone is legit, but it is also stupid to assume that everyone that is high level and a good pvper is a cheater.
I understand you may find it difficult to pot and perform other actions at the same time in the midst of intense pvp, however, with practice comes mastery. When I first started pvping (even sometimes now) I completely forgot to pot, or potted ineffectively. After a while those jitters wear off and it just becomes second nature to sit there and continuously spam the heck out of your cp macro, while retargetting and performing other actions.
LOLOL. This is simply just showing your lack of pvp experience. Seriously.. have you tried creating a CP pot macro? It isn't difficult to run around hit F1 (force attack), then pressing your CP macro ask fast as your finger can go up and down, which should be pretty quick (F3 for me). Then have secondary attack skills on F2 and F4 (for me aggression, shackle). Then using your mouse to continue to target and clicking skills that have longer cool downs (Song of Silence, Medusa, etc).
Apparently still too hard seeing the success of auto CP programs. Well, too hard for carebear afraid of not being able to spam correctly that easy macro. :D

There will always be PVE, it is undeniable fact of something that has to be done. However, I would much rather pvp than pve, but with the servers in the state they are now there is very little pvp. So either you login pve or log out. I would say 75% of the time I just log out.

Control has a setting that will show you a list of the ppl targeting you, and in which order they target you from first to last. And I'm guessing if that person keyed up in vent at the time you would have heard fire sirens going off(I have a friend that has alot of house fires near him too). :p

Somehow he knew he was made a target of and it wasn't by reading the log. If he had the damage log turned on, it would be tracking every attack and every action he did plus those that were done to him. But wouldn't that information eventually diappear? So it's more plausible that he wouldn't be able to see everyone that attacked him when you were rebuffing and it's almost completely illogical that he would have been reading instead of fighting during pvp, right?

This kid asked for DV to come, so he came. Why are carebears calling pvpers carebears? That makes no sense. Is it because of your assumption that people better than you use programs to exp? Why do people always think someone better than them cheats?
He isn't saying pvpers are carebears, its those that are pvping and paying for another subscription besides the $15 a month to NcSoft.
Trust me, no one wants to pick on Nova. Sure their strategies and gameplay styles makes them easy targets, but they're in no way the only offenders that are carebearish about their pvp'ing and xp'ing.

Now if I'm the only one that has seen a lot of "factor" clans take shortcuts in-game, possibly earning them the "carebear" moniker for playing the game on easy-mode, then I'll shut up.
If a program spams cp potions while you're running around fighting, thus keeping you alive when you shouldn't be, isn't that saving your XP? See, you can't both fight and spam CP without the use of some kind of tool.
The biggest XP cryers in the game are still those that use hacks in order to play the game. They need hacks to gain XP, they need hacks to auto-target to get the jump on killing, they need hacks in order to forcelog to save XP. Don't even get me started on the auto CP spamming to stay alive longer than they should in pvp.
Seeing as Nova is the only clan that would openly pvp in any given situation on our server...what was it you were saying again, ShellShock?

Object however you want, but it all boils down to this: it's easy not to care when after you're done you go to sleep and your toon bots the lost XPs back.
Why would I want to "pvp" with someone who if loses XP bots it back while sleeping? I said it before and I'll say it again - I'm not giving anyone a single PvP point, all you get from me is PKs you pitiful bunch of mentals.

From what I've seen, if a player can't fathom there are better ways to exp than command-channel parties in Stakato Nest, FoG, or GC, the person that did do that is a cheater...it's depressing.

I don't have anything besides the game info down loaded in my computer. I laugh every time the pretenda hero whine, cuz people bsoa and leave.
Real players can't win against cheaters who use cheat programs, so we go else where and leave you to your crying.
Really does make the rest of us smile when we hear Hero's scream insults to the departed about how bad of a player they are, but they are left standing all alone with no one to play with!

Using CP pots - that are auto-spammed with 3rd party software
PvPing enemies - using radar and auto-targetting
AoEing with a titan - using automated support
Using a coin to hold the control key for you - proves that you can't play without some kind of tool.
NOT Carebear:
Killing mobs in olympiad - would be better than carebear point feeding
Running a race around Aden for hero - would be better than carebear point feeding
RPing constantly about beer - is better than listening to carebears trash talk
Having no wars up - because there are so few real players to fight (which is unfortunate)

Isabelie, we've had people that were old clannies with your buddy ARI3S confirm that his first toon wasn't a Maestro/Warsmith because he was botting and it got banned, so he made ARI3S, leveled it up in a bot party elsewhere, and that's why he still can't reeeeeeally play his character. If every player that was higher level and/or better player than you was removed from your server, tomorrow, what would you do if you wanted to keep playing? Kill mobs? PvP? You already said you pvp, so who would you pvp against? Kill lower levels or weaker players, or both? Be careful though, if you kill them, they will come to official boards and try to label you as a carebear using abstract examples that make no sense.

You put your skill level around a 7 and that puts you (by your own estimation) about 5 points ahead of most other people on the server. You acknowledge that people in your clan are possibly better than you are, but instead of fighting these other people that like pvp as much as you do (which, by the way, would give you the competition you desire), you join up with them. Well, doesn't that make it easy for you now? I mean, if you're friends with the only people that could possibly beat you (based on your own estimation of your colleagues skill level) you don't really have anything to worry about in game, right? The only real challenges you could possibly face would be PvE stuff. Which I guess is why you guys and guys like you constantly camp epic raids.

Man, if I had any doubts before about how you've reached where you are in this game, this little spiel of yours has completely dispelled all of them.
I put my skill level around 7 (I guess) because I don't know wtf you're getting at and what to compare myself to. scale of 1-10, 1 being a carebear, 10 being DV? 1 being carebear, 10 being...what? And alot of people don't really know how to fight a dwarf that's geared up, so I'd say yeah...most of the server is on a very low level in my views. I joined Nova for my friends who were/are in the clan, something that everyone does. People USUALLY don't join clans with people they hate. Regardless, I play a dwarf. A dwarf should never defeat anything in pvp except its own class, because it's one of the most gimped races in the game. Running against my own friends as a dwarf is leading a lamb to slaughter. We camp epic raids for jewels you'd never get access to that make you stwonger. Yep, I've totally reached to where I'm at by being unlegit like I'm assuming you're accusing me of. But then why is it that most people that have been around long enough know me and are friends with me? I don't think I've met many respected nonfactors that were friends with well known bots. People caught afk or autorez, botted buffers/healers, ppl in vent talking about program settings, sirens going off, calling enemy numbers and class when there is no way to see them when they appear after clan soe. The only one that I can think of that hasnt is wolveneye.
And before you ask, I petition and bot button everyone one of them I see and I avoid partying with them. How about you?

And as I said before, if it's something that doesn't get me banned, whatever. Complaining to ME about my clan's "wrong-doings" isn't gonna get anything done. If I tell them to get legit, they'll laugh and keep doing it. That's also a reason why I think the "Know Thy Clan" thread is a load of crock. Because you can't tell who is or isn't legit, so if someone gets caught doing something against the rules, they can't punish someone innocent that is involved with them, because in all honesty, how can you tell who is and isn't cheating by looking at them? One of my friends recently got banned for botting, I had no idea he was doing it cuz he kept it from me and a couple of friends that quit a while ago.
There will always be PVE, it is undeniable fact of something that has to be done. However, I would much rather pvp than pve, but with the servers in the state they are now there is very little pvp. So either you login pve or log out. I would say 75% of the time I just log out.
I personally still enjoy the game. Im not accusing you of anything, but most people get bored if they "bot" their way too 80 and above. Because they dont take time too enjoy what the game has too offer. Sure i wanna be highlevel someday and get my uber end game skills. But i enjoy the process that leads too that.
Dont get me wrong i love pvp it keep me awake while grinding. Back in the days when I was grinding in SV, it was more pvp then pve but enjoyable and with some enemies as dreadlust which could respect a player even if he was on the otherside of the war.
This game is a pvp orientated game for sure but has alot too offer which you can do with either the clan or a 9 man party.

I've seen people say 100 ppl targetted them...how'd they guess?!...or maybe it was just a random number thrown out there. In a group pvp for a spot (if not in a 2-way war...because I pvp for my exp spot from time to time, unlike you whiners) I usually target someone and do this incredible new thing created in Lineage 2 called "/assist". Learn it, love it, embrace it, abuse it.it's not about how to target someone, it's about how does he know he was targetted.

It's no new practice to fill up the clan with our alts in order to grow the clan levels, or is that all of a sudden NEWS? I only have had 1 issue with a person and his bot program. Was a super easy fix too; I picked up the phone and called NCS; told them my problem and in seconds after my call he was dropped from EAC and banned.
If my brain even itches that a person is bot in my clan it becomes more than just a boot from clan ... I will call NCS and I will get you banned! :D

I wouldn't let my own mother Remote Desktop into my computer, cuz I'd have to open up enough ports to let them in and other people can get in as well. Last thing I'd want to find out is YOUR AVATAR replaced every file on my computer because you're waiting for it the whole time. Unless you assume I'd be dishonest enough to delete programs before sending them a hard drive. You do realize I'd have to basically wipe the entire hard drive to get the information and proof that those programs existed off the hard drive? I only try to keep it simple for people. NCS can scan any game account download that links into their servers. As far as scanning peoples computer it does not matter if they are lvl 0 or lvl 100.
