Average Level of Posters on Official Forums

General Discussion Started Last reply 74 posts
I read these forums more than I actually post on them, and i notice a lot of ridiculous suggestions and ideas, as well as a handful of excellent ideas. IMO, people who have played till end game should know the game inside and out, and have a better grasp on the internals of L2, as well as make much more sound and thought out suggestions.

If you're interested, just select the range of lvl's you're currently in on your main.

Feel free to discuss all you want :-)
i think there is a direct corellation between the level of qq vs the level of that persons char. you will see the lower the level, the higher the qq.

I think you have it backwards based on your level....

because i cry alot?
i am only 81 :)
average, i'd say is 1-75 due to newbies compared to oldbies, and people like Eamonn who will never hit S grade.

Awww... You're so mean...

I'd say 76-79. Lots of players hit the 79 Level/XP wall and started concentrating on alts and subs, or became basically inactive (don't level for serious spans of time).

Also, most end-gamers don't post on these forums. If you read the forums, the reasons are obvious.
they are russians, they dont understand english it is why they dont come here :)
Only 79 Elemental Master here :(

But rushing lvl 80 !
the mayority of the high lvl end gamers do not post here so what's the point of this poll ?

also I could login for all my alts here and throw off the numbers as they're all 80-82+ so meh..

the only thing you're going to prove here is that those who are 83-85 are more jaded and don't really understand all the fuss of those of lower lvl then them..

then again that could be pretentious of me to say so hah

anyways back to topic I voted in the obvious 83+ bucket and regardless of that still agree with some of the points raised of those of a much lower lvl cause am a dreamer and wished nc soft took better care for the game here <3

the point of the pole is to understand what the average level of posters is, as IMO you need to be in the 80-82 or 83+ range to really have a grasp of game mechanics and end game pvp to make suggestions regarding these things.

i dont agree with the idea that end game players dont understand the fuss that the lower levels have. I started leveling in prelude, and i saw the XP that crawled. the people who come to game now have it SOOOOOO much easier to get 80+ than any of the high level, longer playing people had. So the fuss shouldn't even be there, because leveling now is extremely easy compared to what it was.

I'm not saying the easier leveling is bad, its needed in order to give new players a chance.

my whole point of the thread is to to give justification (or lack there of) to the obscene suggestions that would completely ruin L2's experience that are made on these forums. very rarely do i read sound thought out suggestions unless its from people who i know are long time players or appear as long time players.

I think all the end game players understand pretty good, some I know have a feeling about new gamers, they got newbie buffs, free teleports, no need to get a crazy bugged boat to leave Talking Island (Epic to me), shadow weapons and old players sometimes complain about it, how hard they did and now the new ones get all the goods, but without that the game would be totally dead by this time.

Many just go level, level, level and boom 78, Epic Quest awesome 30% free XP in 30 minutes, few days later boom again 79, and they cry, bang head against wall, cause they had everything fast to get there when they get a huge wall at 79 they think is human impossible to finish it, sometimes I think on the day I have finished my first B Grade set, I did 72 that day got a full drop for the first time in game a Great Sword in LOA, I was so happy I was like a kid looking at a new toy, that would be something impossible to happen this days, I have seen players with full S80 sets ready since they have done 78!

(Even if that can be a motivation factor to fight over the 79 wall)

The XP wall itself is fine, it's just that the solo leveling area progressions are not fine. From a nuker point of view (the worst archetype affected), your XP rate doesn't really increase proportionally with your toon's power/proficiency.

Level 79+ XP zones (PI) are giving XP fit for level 74 toons in low 7x zones (like BS). If the XP rate increase proportionally with the MOB levels, PI mobs should be giving at least 25k XP. Basically, people don't like it because the game is badly designed/balanced and they're being forced to click and kill about 40% more mobs than they should, because the game designers copied MOBs/Code from Isle of Prayer and just put a new graphic on it.

IoP was a big huge failure for anything other than farming stones and botting for a reason. The level, gear, and skill OE requirements weren't worth the Blazing Swamp-level XP the MOBs were giving. The same applies to Chromatic, Primeval Isle Field, and other areas.

Field of Silence gives more, but it's balanced for 300 Attribute weapons (Nuker solo areas are balanced for 2 shot kills on 1x HP MOBs), so for most nukers with less than 300 (or rather 280 for most Elemental Nukers), the XP rate will be just as bad a the other places at that level (if they're 3 shotting MOBs regularly).

The epic quest is nice, but you still have to do 78 4 times to get through 79 even with it, which is terrible XP/level progression.

79 is not bad if you have a group to level with. If you must solo it, it's just too boring. I guess once you get to 80 and get some shiny new gear, you're set at least for a level or so, Lol.

Not everyone who comment on that issue is new. Some have been playing longer than you.
its my experience that the lower level people just don't know how to level efficiently. they cry bot all the time, even to a titan. like in arizona every problem they have they blame on mexicans, even though they dont know the true cause of their problems. its an easy scapegoat.

my main is 80, but i have no clue.
suck at pvp, suck more at pve.

not because i bot or bought, just because i'm just determined enough to hit 80. even a monkey can hit 80 with enough time.

IoP was a big huge failure for anything other than farming stones and botting for a reason.
iop had some things going for it.
it is certainly a change of scenery which some people need once in a while.
it's great for nukers, quick easy, and not too far between mobs.

i did level there for a while, no shots, just a HD focus, 150 fire, was saving money for real S grade gear.
i thought laby is level 85 :p

83 Titan / 78 Duelist / 75 BD(someone lvl me) / 4x SK

I could have guessed you were DD/DD/DD/Tank but basically DD even if you hadn't written it in your signature.

Having it easy does skew your perception.

And make sure you read the Arizona law before you make yourself look about as ridiculous as the Attorney General...

if you as support cant get leveled by dd's in your clan then you obviously dont fit in well with your clan. everyone i know has people they level with. me personally i xp with 3 live support in party.

i have read the arizona law. it is racist and a breach of privacy. most americans took pride 50 years ago that we didnt have to show papers to law enforcement. but now we got a state that requires it. i will admit its not half as racist/biased as the anchor baby law.

Obviously I am not a support class. My support classes are boxed buffers. Nothing more, nothing less. No one I know should or would expect me to play them live, unless I offer to do it.

You obviously haven't read the law. Leave the politics out of it. It's not your forte.

so what was the point of calling out that i am a dd?
There are enough L2 politics to have to deal with here, I see no need to import real life politics to these forums either. I have to agree with Trensharo on this one. Leave the real life stuff where it belongs.
I've been LVL 8 since 2004.
A better question would be to ask the age of the posters. As I really do not think Character level = maturity in this game.

Neither does age... It has a certain correlation but that's about it.
so what was the point of calling out that i am a dd?

Because the game is different for them. They are quite easy mode compared to other archetypes, at least for most current content. It's been like that since, forever.

You probably didn't notice, cause you've only played one type of class seriously in this game.

+1 same thought
Well.. if I compacted all my toons into 1.. I would be like lvl 90/85/85/85 by now. :P

And yes.. I've been using these forums for a long time.

Well, judging by your sig and assuming 8*=80 it would barely make you 84 on one char :P
because i cry alot?
In almost every your post.
I cry for humanity with threads like this since 99% of people lie when responding to telemarketers.

and you are a bad forum troll.. give it a few years trolling on forums and you could be one of the top, but it depends on the path you take.

a 19 year old kid can be very mature and a 50 year old person can be very childish, age is just a number.

ok done, now where exactly did HE QQ? :)

don't even bother with these kids. notice cabbie talking about what an accomplishment it is to have earned the respect of other forum posters.
Someone's LEVEL isn't the relevant information since levels obtained through botting or purchased toons are totally irrelevant. Someone who played a toon through C grade knows more than someone who has a 85 botted toon.

None of the achievements of cheaters counts for squat. The only people who cheat are those who are not good enough to do it legit.

Age is just a number? Age is not just a number. For the most part, the level of maturity coorelates strongly with the age of the person. Wisdom comes from experience and the longer you are here on this planet, the more experiences you have (good and bad) and the more mature/wise one becomes.

Now are there exceptions to this rule ... OF COURSE. But we need to look at the norm here not the exceptions.
maturity =/= knowledge of the game's mechanics, nor was this thread asking about people's age's as its irrelevant. if a 13 year old plays this game for 3 years, they will know more about the game's mechanics, features, and everything else than a 45 year old who just started. also, with my experience in L2, the PSN Network, Xbox live, and many other online communities. Age =/= maturity, as some of the most mature people I played with are in the 17-23 age range. anything outside of that starts to sway back into the immature range.

as for the botted 85 and purchased char comments, i completely agree with u, but i highly doubt someone who botted to 85 or purchased a character really post on these forums. looking at the poll results already u can see this isnt the case.

there are other forums that those type of people visit, and posting this thread there would then be a complete joke.

if it makes you feel any better i also play an EE and bishop. however if you are saying it is harder to level as support i gotta call BS. support classes are the most needed classes in the game. where if you play a dd, you are required to have max level, full boss jewels, resist and element on your weapon. on a support none of these are a requirement. people beg for live support players to level with.

Incorrect.

Someone who plays a botted 85 toon for 1 seige, a decent XP group, and a few rounds of Olympiad knows a hell of a lot more than someone who played to C Grade.

Sorry, but a C Grade toon player has absolutely no clue about the class they're playing. Half the classes in the game has woefully incomplete skill sets in C Grade.

The game is totally different at higher levels. A C Grader is ignorant of all that. This game is easy, but not that easy.

Are you weetahded? Seriously... I have to ask, because you're still talking about **** that I already said has no relation to what I'm talking about. I have already said I don't play a support class, and everyone knows that support classes are easy as hell to level, because every group depends on them and there has been a shortage of live support in this game for ages (except for some overplayed classes, like War Cryer and EE).

DDs are not required to have max level. If a toon is max level, they don't have to level... What the hell are you talking about. DDs don't need full epics to level. Please stop talking out of your posterior. You're talking like you botted you toon up with a bunch of ebayed items. Try to make more sense, and at least follow the thread/read people's replies (and comprehend them).

Bye.

very good point, although i think itd take a bit more than 1 siege and a few oly matches for the person to learn the character. daggers are chars i see purchased the most, and they are some of the most lol played daggers ever.
Well.. if I compacted all my toons into 1.. I would be like lvl 90/85/85/85 by now. :P

And yes.. I've been using these forums for a long time.

About the same too
got manny chars on 3 accounts so yes if i had to combine those levles whoo hooo i could be misses sky rocket high level

But in the end the big fun is still on the low level imo, higher level
it gets stressy and from what i heard about Freya , its not gonne
get anny better with the critical dammage nerfed and the bigger
dammage from monsters, even heard that at some places they will
need 2 Bishops "spamming" heals to keep destroyers and tyrants alive...

Ah well the insanity beside ...

players who post generally are people who care abotu a subject
that is generally self-directed profit wise
so that can be anny class anny age anny level.
And more from people who kinda stand alone in front of issue's then
those who get support.

I'm more of an opposite, can't stand injustice when i see it
and i go defend the weaker classes who need some help
to get out of their harsh situation ingame

I myself am above 80 on 3 toons and on subs too.
and ages wise i'm mid 30'ies, gosh hate my age i'm getting old...
very good point, although i think itd take a bit more than 1 siege and a few oly matches for the person to learn the character. daggers are chars i see purchased the most, and they are some of the most lol played daggers ever.

Even my grandmother could play a 81+ dagger and go out taking PvP points by backstabbing everyone all day long...

ok done, now where exactly did HE QQ? :)
Now read the original post, the only one which he was replying to, and try to find "the level of qq" there.

The guy is so obsessed that the cannot even properly read what the OP was about.
Sorry Krissa, not following you, but no matter.

Wisdom comes from experience and the longer you are here on this planet, the more experiences you have (good and bad) and the more mature/wise one becomes.yes i agree Tika, only thats usually theory, in practice it can differ alot per person, i guess it depends who you meet in life to come with a personal conclusion about this.

Age =/= maturity, as some of the most mature people I played with are in the 17-23 age range. anything outside of that starts to sway back into the immature range.same experience here.
Someone's LEVEL isn't the relevant information since levels obtained through botting or purchased toons are totally irrelevant. Someone who played a toon through C grade knows more than someone who has a 85 botted toon.

This could be true only in extreme condition (like someone started L2 by buying lvl 85 toon), and - as Trensharo mentioned - only untill first siege.

But real life is more complicated: what will you say about someone who leveled legit to 81 and bought 85 lvl char of same class as his original toon?

TBH I played with many people of different origin, and I don't see any corellation between level of legitness and level of skill ingame. The only regularity I noticed, is that low level people are ignorant about end game mechanics, but that's kinda obvious.

Even my grandmother could play a 81+ dagger and go out taking PvP points by backstabbing everyone all day long...

I don't think so. More likely she would be laughed on for notorious front stabbing :P

By everyone you mean you and one more that has actually replied to that comment?
The rest is about the age not the levels.

I have seen and been in party with someone that has bought their chars and I can tell a huge difference between the ones that has leveled their chars and those that hasn't.

When a situation they didn't expect happens they freeze or bsoe, while someone that knows his class would just had continued like normal and easily survived.

I have seen 80+ tanks that asks "what do I do?" when being told to tank a mob or RB and some tanks that didn't even know what aggression was.

I have seen 80+ cardinals that was spamming battle heal, heal and group heals because they cost less MP than greater and major heals and then complains that we take to much damage for them to heal and that we are draining the MP...I told one to use major heals and balance life, but the person got angry, called me a n00b and took a bsoe out leaving the entire party to die (not that his regular heals would save us...)

I have seen lvl 76+ spoilers not knowing how to target dead mobs...that's some of the 1st things you need to learn as a spoiler.

I have seen 76+ chars that doesn't know what shots are, what the different locations are called, how to get rid of death penalties.

I have seen duelists with a blunt complaining that none of his skills is working and asking what to do to make them work.

I have seen spectral dancers ask why his character won't dance while he is holding a dagger.

should I go on mentioning things that someone that has actually spent the time and leveled his/her character by hand/legit won't be doing or do you need more examples?

I don't know who you play with, and where you meet them, but it's really extreme,
I didnt do such things on lvl 1 nor on lvl 20 nor on 50.
IMO Your examples have more to do with lack of intelligence of such players than lack of game experience. Seriously, how much time would you need to learn any L2 char? 3 minutes or 5? Few times when I had to go afk I let my brother play me, and after short explanation he did ok...
TBH, if I was one of those quys, I would just ask the original owner of the char for few advices, and such situation would never happen.

The biggest problems I have with other players are EEs who waste MP for heals and won't let me do ballance, or BDs who forget to dance conc, because they don't need this for their boxes. Oh, and one cardi, that tried to heal mobs on tiat. But such mistakes come from lack of experience of playing in decent (and demanding) parties rather, than from beeing legit or unlegit.

As for your dagger remark, ofc playing any DD is relatively easy, but dagger has still more complexity than other DDs - and not everyone dies in one stab, and shadow step has it's reuse too, you don't see daggers shadow stepping all the time :) . Playing DD in pvp is all about quick picking proper targets (instead of moving to the next one) and you can easly know a good DD, by seeing what he's doing when MA dies :)
I agree with that, and I don't believe for a second his story about a Bishop who spams D Grade heals.

Any 8x Cardinal in a high level party will figure out in 5 seconds that both MOBs and Players do far too much damage to make using those heals useful.

Unless that person is a complete, utter downie.

I have seen spectral dancers ask why his character won't dance while he is holding a dagger.

should I go on mentioning things that someone that has actually spent the time and leveled his/her character by hand/legit won't be doing or do you need more examples?

i hope the ppl on your server dont get merged onto teon, no offense... ;-)
And when he was asked to use Peace on a stray social mob during party restocking time, how long did it take him to find the icon? :D

TBH, if I was one of those quys, I would just ask the original owner of the char for few advices, and such situation would never happen.
Yep, just ask the original owner of your EE, and it will guarantee that you will never ever accidentally click on Return/BSOE when PR or BREZ+renoble is needed

You can be OK in doing routine tasks on a "loaner" toon, but if you are expected to do the right things in stress situations (and most live support classes are), a lot of experience is needed.

The biggest problems I have with other players are EEs who waste MP for heals and won't let me do ballance,
That actually might be your fault. Every reasonable live trained EE has an HP safety zone. If you cross into it, they will heal. They will also heal themselves when they think they are in danger. They know that it's better to use an MP pot time to time than to use BREZ and then hear "sorry, lag" from the Bishop.

or BDs who forget to dance conc, because they don't need this for their boxes.
That's easy to fix, if you really need that song. The BDs who don't know when to use Hate/UD, when to use Arrest and when to use Medusa are harder to fix.

Oh, and one cardi, that tried to heal mobs on tiat. But such mistakes come from lack of experience of playing in decent (and demanding) parties rather, than from beeing legit or unlegit.
It used to be able to distinguish live trained support from freshly powerlevelled/botted/bought support in old chronicles, when ppl still partied before S-grade, but these days those Inquisitor-levelled Bishops don't really have much more healing experience when entering the party world than the bot-trained ones do.

As for your dagger remark, ofc playing any DD is relatively easy, but dagger has still more complexity than other DDs - and not everyone dies in one stab, and shadow step has it's reuse too, you don't see daggers shadow stepping all the time :) .
Put BSOE on F4, problem solved :p
And when he was asked to use Peace on a stray social mob during party restocking time, how long did it take him to find the icon?

Noone asked him. And also noone asked me for last 5 months or so of playing cardi. It is easier to kill all mobs before you go afk :)

When I play cardi, I never have bsoe on my bar. And few times I managed to PR by accident, not at all in stress situation ;P Missclicks happen, as well as cat walking through the keyboard, nothing to do with experience :P

As for EE's safety zone, ofc, but not 50% HP! On 5% is ok :P And I know one SE, that doesn't have any safety zone at all, but I play with her since many months, so she knows me I quess :P

What bishop would level to higher than 70 on inquisitor only? That's kinda depressing :S And honestly those low level parties won't give you much useful experience, cause after 76 bp playstyle completely changes, as well as type of parties you participate in.

In l2 pve everything you have to do for the first time. And after you do it once, you became pro at it.

Still can be useful when someone stays too close to the mobs in, say, FoG necro spot and the party is unbuffed. At least you know what it is and where to find it if you need it.

When I play cardi, I never have bsoe on my bar.
Not even when you were soloing Rift? Ok. But someone who played a DD and just switched to a high level Cardi, will probably have.

My cat does not walk through my keyboard, and that comes from her experience :D

Misclicks are what teaches you to find better locations for your skills on hotbars.

And as an experienced healer, you know when PR is not necessary even in stress situations. A freshman (or even a DD from your party) playing your toon will PR much more often than you do.

When it's 3am at my local time, it could be 50% for me as well :(

Rift, whatever. If they can even survive there after playing a gimp nuker all the time before.

I don't see how Stakato party playstyle for a Bishop is so different from Karik party playstyle (well, Kariks were usually for archers, but besides...), and FoG party playstyle is so different than ABG party playstyle.

Not really. I still cannot keep stigmaing the mobs at the same time as I rebuff my party :(

Ballance life :D This is cardi's equivalent of DD's "I win" button. I think since 76 my healing skills decreased, cause pre 76 I was able to heal on fog parties or on Tiat (actually my first FOG happened on 65 lvl and I wasn't there for leeching :) ) and now I'm not sure, If I would be able to do this on a lvl 74 bish :P
Balance Life is a great skill, but hardly a groundbreaking experience. I had seen SEs using GGH as their only healing skill before the C5 nerf.
I have seen and been in party with someone that has bought their chars and I can tell a huge difference between the ones that has leveled their chars and those that hasn't.

I've seen a cardinal using GH instead of major heals because it costs spirit ores. It was a boxed one, but the player sometimes was using it alone. Some players are very limited.

Bye.

i still dont understand what you are talking about. however if you think you arent required to hit the stats i talked about then you are on a joke of a server. the true top clans do require this.

Now read the original post, the only one which he was replying to, and try to find "the level of qq" there.

The guy is so obsessed that the cannot even properly read what the OP was about.

yeah i am obsessed. says the lush with 6k+ posts full of qq.
You still have an IQ under 60.

And you still haven't addressed any of the issues that was in the post you obviously failed to comprehend.

Nice derail. Nice troll. Have a nice day.

oh rly?

I read these forums more than I actually post on them, and i notice a lot of ridiculous suggestions and ideas, as well as a handful of excellent ideas. IMO, people who have played till end game should know the game inside and out, and have a better grasp on the internals of L2, as well as make much more sound and thought out suggestions.

If you're interested, just select the range of lvl's you're currently in on your main.

Feel free to discuss all you want :-)

seems like everything i have said points back to this, with the exception of your raging as i was never sure where you were going with it. but of course saying its obvious i am a DD has anything to do with what hyper said.

Wait until you are 78 on bp... relaxation will come... except if you are in a suicidal party. :)
yeah i am obsessed.
So, have you admitted it? That would be a good start.

Ah, you are obsessed again.

I'm 79 on bp... and always relaxed, except when playing with noobs ;P
What's nice with balance life is that you can play with a salvation bow and run around shooting any party member, it doesn't require a target and is not affected by spiritshots. :p
How hard is it to press F1: Shadow step, F2: Stab, F3: Stab, type in chat: gf and move on to the next one?

+1 from me also
+1 from me too.
I'd +1 that too, but I cannot be sure that any of them is an EULA breaker. Look at Pirotesa, for example
Pirotesa is actually playing her SE! If that's not EULA breaking then what? playable dwarves?!

Look at the "76+ dwarf that cannot spoil" example.

Who the hell would buy/bot a spoiler to play it as main? 100% legit player imo :P
