Hi, I'm new to Lineage and I started on Saryia? I think is the name, but I havent seen one single person since I started. Currently only lvl 10. I remember playing when the game first came out and there were people everywhere. Did I pick a bad server to start on? Is everyone mainly just high lvl now? Or are there really not that many people playing Lineage anymore?

You don't sound like you have been playing long. Most people reach level 20 within 45 minutes. Give the game more than an hour or so.
Most players are between 78-85. If you see another low level toon it is almost always an academy toon someone is doing for clan rep or it's a sub/alt. Teleports are free now for toons 40 and under, so teleport to Giran and check for yourself.
Btw that server you chose is a bit more dead than the others from what I hear. It also has a lot of role players.
Is that a US server? I can't remember which is which. I do know that Phoenix is the most populated US server right now so that might be a good choice.
Most are high level but not everyone. I started playing about 3 weeks ago and I have run into 2 other people who have also started recently. Even so, the high level players will often start alts if only just to put them though their academy and high level players will also have subclassed characters that will be in the mid levels.
You need to get into a clan for it to be fun though. Lots of clans would be happy to have you join their academy which is a section of a high level clan that can only have players that are under lvl 40 in it. This game is very much designed to be fun for groups. It can also help to start out playing a healing class. It is slower to solo but you can pick up groups much quicker and that will help you meet people. Also, let people know you are new. Lots of people will go out of their way to help you if they know you are new. It is a very friendly culture.
If you choose to come over to Phoenix look up www.ancient-heroes.org. Great bunch. They have help me out a lot and I am sure would do the same for you.
1. For lvl 1-20 there are 3 quests which will take to straight to lvl 18 and you can begin class change quest. But it is not simple (coz it is simple to make it simple) so you must before taking the quests talk to the newbie giude, then go the the NPC wich gives the quest, get at least 1 quest item, return to the quest NPC to get the quest acknoledged and the go and talk again to the newbie guide to get the real reward - 3-5 levels of experience. You can start this chain of 3 quests at lvl 6 and when you finish those 3 quests plus the class change quests you will be lvl 20.
Also as the teleport is free up to lvl 40 incl you can go on a little vacation and make a little bit sight-seeing on the other towns.
2. Start at new and go to playing to Phoenix or Teon. Phoenix is considered US server and Teion - EU server but it is not a real problem to play on anyone of them - providing you don't get a big lag there. Also Teon is the most populated server for now.
Hi and welcome to Lineage 2! Aria is indeed the primary role play server, and is pretty quiet, especially at the lower levels. With the free ports, you can explore the continent pretty well (at least the cities). Many people are found in Giran, often with their shops open, so they may be AFK. You can also find people in Aden at times, and Goddard, mainly check the higher level towns.
If you are interested in the role play aspect of the game, there is also a gathering every Tuesday night, at around 9pm EST, on Fantasy Island. You can reach Fantasy Island by porting to a town that is not a starter village, and then porting to the island. The event is held at the main stage, near the gatekeeper. There are often people from 3-5 clans there, as well as some visitors from other servers. It may be a good place to make some friends, even if you wish to move to a more populated server. I know for certain that there are some regulars from Pheonix server there.
Leveling in the lower levels is very easy at this point, so if you follow the newbie guides instructions, you should be able to reach mid-level pretty fast. At that point things will get a little bit better, because as someone said earlier, a lot of people have mains with sub-classes which places them back in the mid-levels.
All in all, the game is definitely quiet right now. But if you find yourself a clan, make a few friends, it wont be quite so lonely. =^_^=
