Seeing as many people from EU have played L2 for the longest time, even before EU servers were made, it makes it a bit difficult for them to competetively participate in olympiad do to their hours. I myself am from NA, however I have many friends who still play this game that live in the European countries, as well as other countries in the world. Friends that play the game because they enjoy who they play with and simply leaving to another server isn't what they were looking for.
I am asking for a poll to change olympiad times to make the game more fun for everyone. Current Olympiad times are 6pm CST - 11:40pm CST.
A good suggestion would be to bring the start of olympiad back 3 hours, making it 3pm CST or all together, move the 5 hours back 2-3 hours.
Either extend Olympiad times from 3pm CST to 11:40 PM CST
or
You could make it from 3pm CST to 8:40 PM CST.
So, Sace if you would really like to hear what the community has to say, based upon the amount of replies to the thread, then please make a pole.

Then this would completely exclude West Coast people that often work until 7PM from being able to compete except for weekends. As everyone already stated... transfer.
they definitely should not be moved earlier. the whole point of the time now is so people can do oly when theyre off work at 5pm.
I live in NA and play on teon, so i never get to participate in oly during the week. the only thing i wish is that oly went on later (say till 2-3 AM), that way i could do oly during the week.
however, i agree with most replies that if it matters to you, just transfer.

The only reason why I am inclined to agree with you is because the game launched without Euro servers. Since so many people didn't have a choice, they can't legitimately/retroactively forced them to play on a Euro server.

In any case, staying up until 12am is ridiculous. If Olympiad was only a couple/few days a week that would be one thing, but the nature of it (currently) is that you must camp it to be competitive, and that's just not friendly to a majority of the playerbase.

i dont think a company should dictate what server region you play on. Why limit choices when EU servers might cater to NA plaer's work schedules better?
I have more friends in EU that play mmo's due to playing on teon for so long. Any company that forces you into a set server is dumb. Limiting a players choices of where to play limits the game IMO.
In an MMORPG game, putting players form decent regions on servers with other players form their region leads to an overall better environment on the servers, and is advantageous when it comes to balancing things like Olympiad Times, etc.
Putting everyone on the same server can also be seen as a limiting factor.

Will be fixed anyway in High5 update. No more camping oly all night long every day, since you are limited to 30 open matches per week (plus 30 class based, plus 30 3v3, up to a total of 70 matches per week). If you do oly every day, that's just 4-5 open matches per day.
Well. I can't agree that american server times should be changed to suit non-americans. Even though I'm from england, started on Lionna, and therefore currently reside on Aria; I just have to accept the fact I have to miss Territory Wars and Seiges (among other things) quite often. Its not much of an option to stay up till 4am UK time, but I try to sometimes simply because the badges/items are so valuable.
The transfer option is fine, except for when you cannot live with leaving friends & clans behind on an old server. Its easy to say "transfer!" but hard to do when you have been on a server for literally years.
Someone mentioned a simple extention of Oly times; and that I cant see a problem with myself; surely would just make it more open to more people.

It just depends on which side you favor.
The only limiting factor is a company choosing for it's customers. We are all adults, and even if we weren't, providing a decent description of the server region is acceptable (having scheduled event times listed, state regions the server is focused to, etc.). Doing this would allow the customers to make the decision as to what region of server they play on, with an informed view of what the server offers.
But, I'm amazed that NCsoft even put the option for us to choose. They typically treat us like 5 year old children any other day...
