2. Robes are better for healing and general support of the summon, but it all comes down to preference....you want to stand while the unicorn kills or you want to kill with it? For AoE robes for sure.
3. Merrow AoE only is good in half HP mobs due to its low power. Also, in gracia, the re-use time was nerfed, so if you want to AoE, its going to be hard. (Not to mention 1 of the best spots is going to be converted into something else in freya). So I would advise you to just melee away, or, while your nukes still give good dammage, unicorn melees 1 mob while you nuke the other.
After 79, when you get Magnus, you can AoE all you want, the re-use time sucks, but the nuke is powerfull enough to 1-shot dino island mobs (Final servitor and bright servitor on of course), so you just get a nice group around the summon and nuke away.
Can someone put screen or write here a stats of Magnus here? I mean p.atk, m.atk... etc :)
I want to compare those stats with Spectral Lord.
And about magnus nuke. Someone knows what power it can have? :)
I'm on the way to 71 and up with my ES and leveling solo (vit4 -> vit 2). Where can I go to lvl nice and fast? Atm I'm killing groups in FoD, maybe there is better place :)

1. Seraphim: Clarity, Empower, Wild Magic, Acumen
2. Robes. With Newbie buffs for the summon and you, Light armor is useless - at least below S Grade and even in S Grade in all but fringe situations. You're better off using your low level overhit nuke than Meleeing MOBs.
3. Single MOBs. There are a few level ranges where AoE is viable, but without boxed buffers your pet will probably end up getting interrupted 85% of the time. At 77+ maybe it gets better. It certainly gets better at 79+.

You cannot summon a Summon and a Pet at the same time.
Smittie has a high level Arcana Lord. You don't have to have a level 90 Elemental Master to know about ESes, so you can stop trying (yet failing) to act elitist.

I have multiple S Grade toons. My Soultaker is basically retired. Anyone who reads the forums with any level of frequency knows that I basically quit playing it with any regularity almost a year ago.
I still fighit for the class, but that's more because I like the concept than anything else. Usually if I do any testing on the PTS, I'll do it on Soultaker.
But I don't really "play" the game as much as I activate just to waste time when I get bored of other things, or am waiting for expansions to be released in other games I play (i.e. got tired of farming the same content, and just need a bit of a change).
My accounts are only active because I thought I deactivated them and they got another month in on me. That won't happen again :P
