Not sure if anyone has reported yet, but when you enter instance to fight the boss (take your best shot quest), it does not always reset if someone fails. I ported in today with boss at 30% life, no abyss weed, and on the other side of instance from spawn point. Of course got a middle scale after one shotting him from life being so low.
Im not 100% sure it is an instance zone, you dont get any kind of instance zone warning when you enter or complete it. Also the other day I killed the boss near one of thoes freaky tall stone things and the gatekeeped spawned on top of it (out of reach). thinking that it was an instance zone i decided to relog. on login if it was an instance zone it should have kicked me out, but it didnt, i just logged inside again, soeing worked......

If its not an instance, that explains why you can screw it up for others by failing.
