Elf Classes Started Last reply 4 posts
Right So!
Got through the newbie guide almost(just finished class change to Elf Knight)

Searching through forums trying to get an idea of some things.

1. Armor doesn't have level reqs on it..outside of Grades?
The guide said to visit the armor shop and buy "Cheapest" armor.
So i'm just looking through it..and just being confused to all hell between the differences between Warrior/fighter armor, outside of costs.

2. As an Elven knight i have a "heavy armor mastery" when i'm wearing a full set of heavy armor...but as far as i've seen, only legs and chest are marked as heavy or light? So wearing just those 2 pieces should give me the mastery bonus?

3. Something about pets being obtained in mid 20's. Worth getting on a first character? Or just a massive cost sink for little reward?

4. I saw on Elven FIghter forums some people were suggesting "leveling with a single sword" i'm quite curious what a sword and nothing is better then a sword and board / 2hander?

Thats..aboot all i've come up with for now.

No grade (1-19), D grade (20-39), C grade (40-51), B grade (52-60), A grade (61-75), S grade (76-79), S80 (80-83), S84 (84-85). Besides class bonues on robe, light, heavy, that's all the distinctions that are made.

Buy "common armor". It will say "Common Item - Half Plate Gaiters" or similar. Common is what you will wear for quite some time; it will save you LOADS of cash.

There is only mage and fighter armor. After that, at low levels it's all the same. Buy the highest pdef armor. Later on set bonuses will matter based on class.

The chest piece will say which pieces are required to complete the set. At lower levels, it will be chest/legs (or one-piece upper/lower) and either helm, gloves or boots. Starting in B grade it will be all pieces. That's when gloves and boots start being robe, light, or heavy. Until then, go for pdef on pieces that dont complete a set.

Only if you like to role play. Without gear they die a lot and gear is pricey. Focus on you.

You're a knight? If you are going to go Temple Knight (tough road) or Swordsinger (also tough). In D grade, consider the 2H sword swings slower and hits harder, which means less money in soulshots and which means less restocking. Later on that changes. TK gets a stance that uses a 2H sword, and sws can weild either. I like 1H sword more than two, but sometimes it depends on the SA.

Get grinding!
Thank ya sir, cleared that up real good for me.
/goes back to grinding. Muhaha
Welcome to L2! And welcome to the very tough but EXTREMLEY rewarding road ahead of you a.k.a. the elven knight. Either path you take, Temlpe Knight or Sword Singer, will be fun and worthwhile. Enjoy!
