As the new server names poll has progressed, we've seen immense and equal popularity around the names "Chronos and Naia" and "Gran Kain and Einhasad." We've also heard your requests to allow voting for your specific server region. Therefore, we have created a final tie-breaking poll to allow players to choose the name that they want according to what server region they play most. This poll will close at 10am (PDT) Monday, September 20, 2010. Any further ties will be broken according to percentage by territory.
One vote per person. Please vote for the territory where you spend most of your time.
If both servers have the highest votes for the same name, we will split by which server has the highest percentage based on the number of votes for that territory. Highest percentage will keep the name and the other territory will get their second choice.
For example:
NA - Gran Kain 86.5% of all NA votes
EU - Gran Kain 79.3% of all EU votes
The NA server will get the name Gran Kain because it's vote percentage is higher.
I think that if you are playing on a NA server, you will be moved to the NA server and the same goes for the EU servers. So it all depends on what server you play on now as to where you will be merged.

idk if thats true and i doubt i could prove it isnt or u could prove it is - it doesnt take a genius to see that merging in this way with one eu and one na server leaves this game no place left to go - so yes short term its a good thing, however, id be happy to hear anyone tell me how this isnt the begining of the end ?
i dont mean to get **** about this, but how can you call it a tie when its 212 : 208 vote with almost 1% difference... oh well i voted gran kain again and if its for any good, i think naia does sound nice for euro and hope they will get what they prefer.
thanks for doing a more detailed vote about this, but you will never get it 'perfect' and there will always be some crybabies that will find more and more new reasons why you shouldn't have done something they didn't approve. go with the flow and just enjoy the game.

Naia is not a name for a building.
"Naia is a very ancient nature goddess, what in some cultures is called "Gaia" or "Mother Earth". Because of the special geological conditions of the island at present known as Hellbound, Naia is living very close under the surface of the earth there. In some places her crystalline "tendrils", the Naia Failan, can even be observed above ground."
I don't know for sure. She might be or she might not, though the Genesis suggest that Einhasad and Gran Kain were the first two powers to come into existance.
"Long ago, in a time before thought, there was only a globe in which all creation was mixed. As there was nothing with which to compare it, the globe was big and small, dark and bright, everything and nothing.
Over a hundred million years, the globe began to grow and eventually two powers slowly began to form within. As they grew, the powers developed consciousness and ego and separated into white light and darkness. White light formed as female and called itself Einhasad. The darkness formed as male and named itself Gran Kain. These two beings marked the beginning of the entire universe, and all that we know today."
It is true that first there was an original globe in which all creation was mixed (æ—*æžï¼Œ"nothing higher/older than that" in real life), which then separated into white light and darkness (太æž, "the highest", the symbol in the center of the South Korean flag). Those two aspects, light and darkness, are Einhasad and Gran Kain. But they then went on to create what is known as "nature", Maphr/Earth, Pa'agrio/Fire etc.
Those various aspects of nature later "coagulated" into Naia. You can see them, the so-called "Naia Spores", in the basement of the Tower of Naia, Earth-Golems, Fire-Salamanders etc.

using the exact way of thinking i will ask you, can you show me some proofs that indicate this to be the beggining of the end or whatever u call it? Keep in mind that maybe there are few of ppl who would actually leave if servers will merge because they cant stand competitive play, and many others will reacitvate. I alrdy saw many of my old friends reactivate last 2 weeks because of the merges

When we start playing L2 we have not the option for any EU server (dont exist in that time) and from then we are suffering times and horaries very inconvenients for europeans.
I am asking for a complete transfer of accounts to the European server, nor just a char, main or not.
That will help to enjoy the game for thousands of people, til now suffering a lot of inconvenients.

honestly, if you want to avoid references to old servers and be fair about people feeling that the new server is 'theirs' or w/e, why is "Gran Kain" an option?
"Kain" was a server already and many people originally from there are going to feel like they are 'coming home'
not a big deal i suppose, but not 100% fair either, especially considering we're going to be stuck with this name for the rest of L2
(also, if EU is going to be Naia, then Chronos makes the most sense to complement that IMO -- kinda weird to have Gran Kain and not Einhasad, or vice versa...)
1. Gran Kain and Kain are two different people; reminding people isnt the same as being the same.
2. Chronos and Naia lost the last poll so euros should be happy that they even get the chance to chose naia as opposed to being Einhasad.
3. Gran Kain still holds highest score so i dont see the problem

gran kain got deep roots in the game and is a logical name for the server. and if you where from lionna and reliving the 'nightmare' of getting beaten by kainers, then you really got deep psychological issues and i would recommend a visit to the psychologist of your choice.

The meaning is the same, he is called "time" since he is a very very old man, but in order to avoid recurring questions by new players in the future, the spelling of the server name should be the same as that of the NPC :p

Trust me. We can't have two servers with the same name, even if one is no longer operating. Remember, we have lots of systems running behind the scenes for billing, and logs, etc. Only one server can ever be named Phoenix. There can never be another Phoenix, or Aria, or Luna, or Teon.
I don't really see why people are getting all worked up. I even proposed Gran Kain first on the nomination page, but if Chronos or something else pulled out the win then w/e. Chronos Server name is not from greek mythology its from Lineage 2 mythology and is different then what your thinking.
But I didn't find any information about it in Lineage 2 mythology, then it still my mining not bad.

Finally I found what does mean “Gran Kain†in L2:
Gran Kain is the manifestation of Darkness and the male, destructive principle. Soon after he and Einhasad, the manifestation of Light and creation, had shattered the Original Globe, they married. Out of this marriage there issued five children: the oldest daughter was Shilen, then came the oldest son, Pa'agrio. The second daughter was named Maphr, the fourth child, again a son, was Sayha. Their youngest daughter was named Eva.
When Gran Kain saw the beings Einhasad had created together with her children, he became curious and jealous. He imitated his wife and brought forth a form in his own image. Then he went to see Shilen, their oldest daughter, and asked her to instill spirit into the form. Shilen was very surprised and told him: "Father, why do you want to do such a thing? It is Einhasad, my mother, who is responsible for creation. Please do not try to do something that is not in your nature. A creature that receives life from a god of destruction will only bring about disaster."
But Gran Kain would not give up. After much cajoling and persuading, finally he was able to obtain Shilen's consent: "I will do it then. But I have already given the spirit of Water to my mother. So the only thing I can give you is the leftovers." Shilen gave the spirit of stagnant and rotten water to Gran Kain. Gran Kain gladly accepted it.
However, Gran Kain felt that it was not enough to give only one spirit to his creature. So he went to see Pa'agrio, his oldest son. Like Shilen, Paagrio also warned his father. However, he could not refuse Gran Kain. So he gave the spirit of dying fire to Gran Kain. Gran Kain gladly accepted it.
Maphr also pleaded with her father, having tears in her eyes, but ended up giving the spirit of barren and contaminated earth to her father. Sayha, in his turn, gave his father the spirit of wild and violent wind.

Look at they who are born with the spirit of Water, the spirit of Fire, the spirit of Earth and the spirit of Wind. They will be stronger and wiser than Giants! They will rule the world!" Thus Gran Kain shouted with great pride to all the world and instilled the four spirits into the creatures of his own image. The result, however, was terrible. His creatures were weak, stupid, sly, and cowardly. All the other gods despised Gran Kain's creatures. Overcome by the shame of his failure, Gran Kain abandoned his creatures and went into hiding for a time. These creatures are called Humans.

You might be thinking Gran Kain has something to do with the old Kain server. It does not. Gran is not a title for Kain, its a totally different name. Something that would have been known to you if you had read the entire thread.

Regarding the NA one, Chronos has for me important links to the past. Used to play the game on a romanian Spectrum clone 20 years ago. Was stunning graphics for that time, however in L2 world Chronos is an old mage in HV, nothing to be told about it, but Gran Kain does suggest the destruction NC plans for L2. I think it is an ominous name suited in these conditions. I started in Kain 5 years ago because was the least populated at the time I was chosing where to place my chars. All other servers were heavy.
As such I have some of my first chars there therefore I think i have the right to vote but I wont do it on your servers. Just gave an opinion. Going to vote Naia.
