Is there gonna be an event for server merge week? maybe vit event again =p or at least reactivate all accounts for free so quitters can come back and see the game with merge ??
The event will be confusion, lag, no CH, frequent server reboots, and no XP zones due to an infestation of unmanned players..
I doubt any of this will happen.
1) Confusion will totally happen when mixing the 3 or 5 severs into one...
2) Lag is debatable...
3) CHs, lots of people that previously had one will not get one. There is no denying this
4) Frequent server reboots is garaunteed. NCSoft hasn't changed one thing without completely ******* up something
5)Lack of Exp zones will be an issue-ish, a new balance will form eventually but at first it may be an issue.

There will be major issues.
1. Lack of exp areas will not be that bad as ppl might expect. We have kamalokas and some other instances, but those cant be done by bots so the special areas for them will be full and enforcers will have a lot of problems PKing other trains and even fighting other enforcers. That is the thing that bots hoped for but when some of them wont be able to exp they will see they botted for nothing all those years and will quit. Untill that happens bots will have problems and a lot of battles will happen while we will enjoy our instances and exp low level subs.
2. Lack of CH will happen, but most legits didnt have one anyway, so it wont be a real problem.
3. Lack of forts will REALLY-REALLY hit us. That was our main means to make money and it will be gone for many months, till the population will reach current Teon levels. We will survive, but it's gonna be very hard.
4. Castles were never an issue for us, in last couple of months in Franz one clan took almost all castles and that will happen in the merged server too, we will go stay dead for exp or have suicide runs to entertain bots.
5. Market will be a certain winner in this. Margins will drop fantastically and trade will happen a lot. There will be everything for everybody, undoubtedly even b grade items. That will also make lag in Giran and Aden a big issue, but we can live with it as long as the market will thrive.
6. In the first 3 weeks or so untill first heroes bots will have fierce wars. A large number will either quit or go hibernating or move to the ru-off, whatever. After those weeks a wining clan will emerge and the coalition that helped it will become alt clans that will own all castles and will cry for PvP all day long in HV. In the end, after months of boring PK of newbies and legits they will consider leaving too.
7. Lag will happen only in Giran, Aden and sieges. Hardware upgrades and the progress of internet infrastructure will make lag a secondary problem.
This merger has some positive aspects, like the market improvement, but mostly negative ones, a large number of ppl will quit, especially the legits and PvE ones, at least half of the bots, if not more, but still the population wont drop below 2 k. If, at that point NC will make last merger as required by the remaining bots, then we may end up in 2 years or so with a server perma 3 k + which will always have ppl on from the vast pool of privates that wish to try off before it vanishes completely. It remains to be seen if they will keep the title up for just a quarter or less of the current customers, but I doubt. L2 is living last days and this merger is certainly one of the sudden downturns in it's history.

for any of you who have never been through an L2 server merge; just calm down and relax! it won't hurt too bad and it is actually a lot of fun!

Could be alot of fun, if the top clans don't all merge to form a super alliance. 10 way wars could be alot of fun.
CH's - Yeah, without a doubt people will be losing these.
Fortresses will be definatley fought over constantly, like they should be. Castle seiges could be like they were in the old days, with multiple allies fighting over the castle, and not sitting back waiting to see if anyone shows up to attack.
Market will def go crazy. At first there "might" be an influx of equipment, and lower prices, but soon, mats will dry up, and mat prices will go through the roof, as there won't be enough mats available to keep people crafting. Might finally be an awesome time to be a Bounty Hunter.
And yeah, I think lag will become an issue, expecially at seiges and running through Giran. And lag deaths will hurt alot more then they did last time the servers were this busy.

ROFL what are you smoking saying the market will be a winner? Theres gonna be virtually no mats coming in and no element stones, key mats or recs since no farmers and loads of ganks.
Yeah great if you've got a few hundred mil saved up and want some complete S grade gear, but terrible for the sellers and whose 76+ who hasn't already bought their S grade? Anyone who hasn't already got Icarus/Vesper already with full element is gonna be screwed tryna catch up with the guys who have.
Only good any of it does is for people who already have the top grade stuff and are selling their spare 300 ele vesper off their buffers.
/Agree to the mass quits but I dunno if it'll even settle at 2k. 1 server for each region that's single sided (as will always be) doesn't sound masses of fun, theres not even hope for people to transfer to something better.
One things for sure it'll be fun for a couple of months while it lasts.
private wh won't change but if you have more than 7 toons on all merged servers, the lowest level ones will be deleted, and all the stuff on them and in their wh. so if you have items on low level alts and in their wh, get them out now / consolidate to the 7 highest level toons on all servers.

Yes, you will actually have a healthy, and playable server with plenty of prospects of PvP and competition. What better reward/event could there be?
All this doom and gloom was spread before the last merge. Yeah, it won't be pretty afterwards, so what.

You cant possibly compare last merger with that will happen now. They merged 1-2 k server in pairs and resulted 2-3 k servers which dropped fast below 2 k and continued to decline at normal pace since then. Now they merge 5 1 k+ servers into one, it cant be same thing not by a far shot. I mean 1k+ average, but at sieges and events will be much more, perhaps double, so in the first 1-2 months till they clear a bit of all those unwanted legits and no-hands bots, expect massive changes in the way the game will look like and behave.

I'm stealing Moxie's question/answer: There is no plan to do this for the server merge. But we have heard the requests to have another account reactivation event, and we expect to have another one in the future.

those who quit due to the fact that there was no PVP, will come back pretty sure they do not need an event to get motivated, for the rest that quit "cuz omfg i get 0.1 every 5 mobs" no1 really cares
Yes, I guess so. All items and adena will be wiped out, all characters will be rolled back to lvl 1.

There will not be an event immediately after the merge, but keep your eyes open for other events coming little bit afterwards! :)

I have found the event mobs!!! The Elpies are located on TI in the newbie area!!! Tons of them, but so far the drop rate for the S84 gear sucks!!!! :eek:
Was High Five Interlude starting with server merge, or is that coming later? I've resubbed to make sure I didn't lose my low level mule, but I don't plan to play until High Five is live.
