Fresh Start

Chronos Started Last reply 19 posts
With the server mergers I have decided to return to Lineage 2 and re-roll an elven archer. I'll be on the Chronos (NA) server. Feel free to drop me a pm in-game. I'll be looking for a clan and some players to enjoy the game with! Best of luck to everyone!
welcome back :-)
I was wondering if anyone could guide me to some good leveling spots for archers level 20+ and on. Preferably spots that only take 2-3 shots to kill.

Thanks.

I'm no archer but any monster eye mob in the dion, wastelands, etc.. areas are week to bows/ crossbows... maybe try those?
You can click your map now, choose "world Info" and everything you need will be there.

You sure you want to roll a lolarcher? It's a long climb to 85 on an archer, and not a whole lot of ppl will be interested in partying you. Either way, good luck.
Eh. I hear lots of bad things about archers, but it's what I want to be anyway. Way I see it, they've been nerfed for a while so sooner or later they will make them better.

Also, the map will tell me leveling spots for my level range but not if the mobs are good for archer. So any assistance would be great.
I would say grab a dagger and lvl up to 40+ before switching to an archer. You get the skills for both, and the dagger can go pretty much anywhere up to 40-50 without much need of worrying where you are (well not a catacomb solo).

Also a few shouts to get your daily Kamaloka will help you greatly as well. I don't know what Raid bosses are like atm, but in the past if you could get into one, you could get a few levels rather quickly. They may be dropped as soon as they spawn now? There are alot of people here.

As for good archer areas, I will let the archers answer that one.
...sooner or later they will make them better...

A classic mistake that some other classes have made and found to be not true. relatively speaking. You've been warned. :D
Swordsingers aren't very fun to play aside from being able to find parties right? If not an archer, what do you suggest? I'm level 18 now so I have to decide haha.
Play what you want, don't listen to discouraging advice because it's just an opinion.

All classes are pretty good and now the servers have merged so you can find groups easy on any class, even a prophet for kamas!
Haha yea. Archer is what I'm going, decided not long after that post.
Archers in Moriria make great pullers for AOE groups so I get groups more now as a puller since we agro many mobs with arrows that are not aggressive to make trains bigger and our run speed is +190 for DE/LE archers so makes easy for us to pull trains without taken damage.

Of course this requires a tank or warlord to pull mobs off u when u bring the train in.

Was doing it in COD last night got 1.5% in less then an hour at 80 with 4 people in party

well i wouldnt really say that...

lets examine closely the various nerfs that have occurred in the game beginning from the early game:

Dagger stab land rate. nerfed but now we have hide and guaranteed land rate stabs. easily 100x better damage than was possible in C1/2

sleep. was nerfed pretty bad, along with (eventually) para and silence. improved (after a long struggle) with trance, stun, and element systems that do not necessitate the use of many debuffs.

heal. whats better than a huge MP heal? huge VR, or balance life. nobody learns those huge heals anymore except people who dont know.

these are but 3 examples of "nerfs" that were supposed to kill the respective classes, but which by other circumstances caused those respective classes to shine tremendously.

i would not rule out a boost to archers.
I will play my archer with pride! If I have to, an OE weapon and tattoos can help with the damage.

Archers have been untouched for many chronicles, I do believe something will be added to their class.

Also, I've always believed with this game that every class is as good as the person playing it. Perhaps with the right play style I can make myself very effective. I've always been pretty talented at this game.

See you guys in game =)

Hit me up if you'd like a new clannie.

Play what you enjoy, but I don't agree with the statement that any class is as good as the person playing. I have an easier time killing ppl in Oly on my boxed SE in A gear than on my S80 BD. Some classes just more or less blow in particular circumstances, and no amount of wishing otherwise will change that.

On the bright side for you, the anti-archer songs and dances are being nerfed in one of the upcoming chronicles.
Yes, well it is certain that every class has their strengths and weaknesses.
Yes, well it is certain that every class has their strengths and weaknesses.

what retribution is trying to politely say, sir, is that in a LOT of cases you will find that the Archer currently suffers in the damage department.

for instance:

in many 80+ spots, the mobs are RESISTANT or HIGHLY resistant to arrows. so typically some players pull out a melee weapon to go hunt in those areas; be that polearm, or dagger, etc...

in many PVP situations there are a lot of resistances to arrow, and lots of reduction to crit damage, nevermind the range closing capabilities of a lot of classes.

buffs can also be stolen, and often. it is the single greatest crippling factor to an archer - lack of support with buffs.

all we are saying is just be careful when you seek your PVP and where you seek your PVE.
Welcome back! =^.^=
