Now that we have the merger done and the clean up of the fall out is on the way I was wondering if there has been any schedule available yet on the High Five update that can be shared with us ?
The developers are working on it, but so far no patch was implemented (next chance is on Wednesday). NCWest might choose to wait for that fix, or they do it like with Gumiel in the Monastery of Silence and just go ahead with a bugged version. That's a political decision :p
I would be very surprised to happen in December. There will be less and less ppl working on this and the lag will grow bigger. TBH I think we wont be getting updates for much longer as more and more ppl quit over the botting issue. High Five will be on, but maybe next year.

From a marketing perspective you are supposed to time the benefits you give to your customers, otherwise if you give them too much they will demand even more "too much" next time :). Also it will be a nice gift for Xmas, when the spirits are high, so that the customers are already happy and associate their happiness with the new "toy" they get :) Awww kawaiii :3

Well all things will eventually come to an end. When?? That we don't know. The game is already over 6 years old. This talk of the game coming to an end has been going on for at least 5 years now :). So take it for what its worth.
Lineage 2 is still popular in Korea, where the game is developed. As long as the servers stay alive here, we should still be getting updates, they just might be later and later compared to the Korean schedule. Right now we are about 6 months to 9 months behind them, so next July you will probabaly be seeing what Korea now has for an update - High Five Part 3.
It really sucks hearing of an end to this game i mean for us noobs who have fell in love with the lineage world and all it has to offer lol but yes all things do come to an end so what"snext a please don't say aion /And why with so many computer tech's lol that play the game are we still hoping our servers stay open well just some inquires from a know absolutely nothing old joe lol

Like I said, the end has been mentioned for the last 5 years now. The game keeps losing people, but 5 years later, its still here. The game is still very popular in Korea/Russia, ect. so I have no doubt the game will live on for a long time yet. The original Lineage (1) servers are still up, and that game is probably 10+ years old now. So don't expect an absolute end.
Whats next? Possibly Lineage 3. That game has been rumoured for years now. Who knows, but hopefully it will surface. I do know alot of people are awaiting TERA. As for the computer tech question. There is nothing a computer tech can do when a company decides to turn off the servers. Well aside from playing on the "servers which cannot be named", but they aren't retail, so not many would be going that direction.

all i am saying is that there is a price point that must be reached before L2 (as supported by NCWest) will drop off the map.
look at several other NC games that have closed in the past few years; Richard Garriot's Tabula Rasa, Auto Assault, and others.
there came a point where the budget to run the game became more than the money received to pay for the expenditure.
i remember when L2 was promoted as having More Active Accounts Than World Of Warcraft (at 17million) however skewed data that was, it reflected worldwide statistics; 16 million accounts Korea-wide... 10.000 accounts supported by NCWest, the rest distributed over L2 SoutheastAsia and Japan and the unofficial L2RU (which after much deliberation became Official sans english support)

Learn Korean. or russian. in a year's time if NCwest doesnt advertize this 6 year old fallacy, the only thing left will be private servers from C4-Freya.

Well, I know the Barista of this establishment, she said that they were discussing the launch date and it sounded like none of them knew when the exact day would be.

Personally I am not holding my breath for High Five to come in the next 6 months. It is likely to take that long to learn the INSERT statements required to fix other "miss-communications"

I'm sure that NCNA would LOVE to have the first couple of parts of High Five live before Christmas. Doesn't mean it will happen. The latest changes to High Five (part 3?) on Korean PTS are probably next year though. With a huge merger followed by 2 back to back Events, NC obviously is trying to keep the player base they still have, and has a plan for doing that, though I suspect TW badges was not part of the plan, nor some to the other problems.
Having an upgrade on PTS in late November and live in December, with a good Christmas Event would be a good move if they can do it.
I now suspect part of the problem with giving back TW badges is just that they didn't schedule enough 'Merger Damage Repair' time and their people are very busy with the Events they did plan. One more Event before the Christmas one? Possibly. I'm sure they already know.

There is not available schedule that we can provide at this time. The update is coming but we have no specific date. Also, we cannot post estimations, as our target-dates are sometimes pushed back by unexpected problems.

Actually, I think that most effective marketing (and the only one AFAIK) is represented by the private servers, they are continually recruiting new players to this great game NCNA used to hate so much. 80% of the ppl that joined us recently came from there. Shutting them down, besides adding to the bad name NCsoft has among players, will deprive them of the only free and effective marketing tool they have.
If the current changes arent maintained and speeded up, emulated servers along with badly translated clients are the bleak future for the game.
