Economics 101: A Question for None-Bartz Server players

Before the merger, there was no mats inventory on Bartz due to Vesper/Moi craftings. Mats prices were sky high because all mats were immediatly used once they were dropped. However, after the merger, there is a large surplus of mats in the market, people are selling 15k syncoke/S GEM in shops... I know mats drop rate is aweful, new servers are filled with players and fewer bots... so how can we not have a mats shortage? Two reasons I can think of 1). Old non-bartz servers have massive inventory of unused mats. Can anyone confirm? I know that on the old phoneix server dmp went for 40k. However, I would think the massive demand from Bartz and other servers should have drained the supply rather quickly, but obviously this is not the case; Supplies increased steadily on a daily basis 2) NC soft is injecting mats into the open market using "magic". Just a wild conspiracy theory.

I usually grind 1-2 hrs daily. In the past 2 months, not only I have not recevied any drop worth over 100k. 99% of my drops were fibers... Good for diet but not wallet.

Not yet. Not my stocks at least.

Dunno. The places that were dropping element stones before the merge still drop them after. And of course lvl83 Zaken still drops Moirai & Vesper, as well as those Vorpal jewels, which cost >10M in their crystal value.

All non-Phoenix servers (including Bartz) were pretty dead therefore you can't talk of any "massive demand" coming from there.

As regards "unused mats"... let's see, I've got over 150k thread, 50k coal, 50k charcoal, 40k iron ore... 3k enria and so on, and I guess every 80+ player, who has not been botted or powerleveled in AoE parties, should have amassed similar amounts of basic mats by this time.

However, I am not selling any mats since I think I may need them later when I decide to craft something important... while the fail rate on S80 crafts exceeds 90% (to me, at least).

hehe, I thought I was the only one feeling that way... But it is definitely true. 60% sucess rate is a white lie. That is why I bought all my moi stuffs, and have 3 dorf sitting there peddling base mats... crafting is helping nc to recycle adena...

Although I disagree with the part the legit players all have lots of mats. There are two types of players on the server: legit and bots. If all legit are self-sufficients, who will bots sell mats to? haha.

i dont think thats entirely true...

i dont know about bartz but what i know from Aria was that there were fewer people with great desire to have Moirai and Vesper crafted items, as everyday there were full bits of moirai and full bits of vesper up for grabs for sets as low as 600m.

the carebear clans were crafting dynasty and not a single F would be given that day.

yet more of the powerup crews were duking it out in tiat and other high level HB raids for bits of vesper.

the only thing you COULDNT find for surplus in aria were vesper noble stones... mats you could always find. always. on any given day there would be a reseller of every mat under the sun with qty most times approaching 30k of each item.

because the people interested in crafting on aria were not impatient doodieheads, they knew where and how to get mats.

thanks for the info. In days leading into the merger, demand just overwhelmed supply in all major mats on Bartz. All mats sell shops were cleaned out at any price, so I overestimated the demand on other new server. Now I am stucked with 30k iron, 3k s cry and 500 s gem, but no big deal.
i think majority of the reason many of the mats were cleaned out on those other servers was due to being relatively cheap in comparison to the more dead servers.... someone probably cleaned them out for one of several reasons.. or a combination of many..

lets say for Resale profitting..

Guaranteeing their ability to craft MW sets at far cheaper prices... therefore buying cheaper initially then whatever is left... selling for a profit again better then what excisted...
There is also the need for mats to be considered.

When Moirai was new and fresh, most ppl that were lvl 80 tried crafting alot of them.

When those ppl were done, not too many ppl need it atm, or just like their dynasty better, or were poor and figured it would be better for them to pick up a cheap dynasty set with elements (that the moirai warriors were now selling super cheap, since they used alot of adena to click their new armors)

Hence, mats prices drop a bit, but there is still a healthy need for stones for the new armors recently created. Hence the 4 mil per earth/wind stone (roughly) in Giran on Chronos atm.
And don't forget all those people who are trying to scramble some adena for their clan hall "giveaway" entry. They are lowering the market prices (by both excessive supply and insufficient demand) too.
quite irriting to see element stones on the server for so much even though there is in a few cases a good supply of them... the one shop i saw had divine stones.... over 1000 of them.... for 3.5mil each.... another store had over 600 fire, nearly 4mil each.. and one store while only had 100+ earth..... still was wasking 4.5mil.

Meanwhile the prices of Element crystals are falling.. so far the cheapest crystal i've seen is a divine crystal for 13mil.. and a fire for 15mil..... meanwhile earth/water/wind/dark crystals are still selling for between 25 and 35mil depending on which bugger you look at.

Thats what I did, picked up a dynasty robe/wizard set with one full element on each for half the price of a clean Moiria set. The difference in my eyes didnt out way the cost.
