I am a returning player after taking a 3 year break from this game. I have been xping in Cruma Tower this week and noticed a lot of pvp. This reminds me of the days back in C1/C2. I asked somebody why they pvp here and the response was something like this:
You can only enter if you are 55 and below, that means no super high bots or hero's or players with epics. The average Joe can pvp in cruma and win and the xp loss is meaningless. There are no pvp advantages inside Cruma Tower and it is much more enjoyable.
I thought about this a bit and couldn't agree more. I hope to witness more of this carnage on a nightly basis. Thanks for the enjoyment and hope to see more people there.
it's great..
the only downfall that anyone can run into with this is that some players could be using an AQ ring... and highly overchanted armor such as doom or what have you...
or weapons.. but they are easily obtainable now..
Indeed.. it's great..
subclassed hero's can go in though.. but most "heros" i know of were/are lvl 80 with nothing lower then a 75/76 subs....
I was leveling up another character inside Cruma Tower last night and was quite surprised the pvp is still going on in there. I watched for a few hours and different toons just kept coming and going. It seems these guys in there were having a good time and everybody would win. Say what you want but I think these guys have found a way to have fun without high levels/gear being able to ruin the fun. Most were wearing full plate sets.
However I did see some s80 daggers outside camping for flagged toons to port out of cruma...pretty lame imo.
Cruma Tower has the best pvp in the game if you ask me. It's nice not having to worry about anyone coming in that is unbeatable. Brings the game back to a simpler time. If you ask me, NCSoft should consider putting leveling caps on more of the sub level 78 zones to encourage lower level pvp. Everyone is so afraid because some s80 will show up if they start any fights.
The idea is not bad but what about if you have your high lever buffer, and you cant use it cause level restriction to enter there. In my case, is not funny to lets say, start a sub, and play again without great buffs and slow.
Yea. That is true. I am not a fan of dual boxing personally. Perhaps they could consider an AIO buffer in some of these spots to encourage lower levels to level faster and worry free. The game is just fine 78+. But needs changes to get players to 78+ faster and more hassle free. Too many people are making it to 60 and quitting.
The level cap for entrance on some low level places is probably a good idea. I hunt in Cruma. Solo or duo (2 comps) and with newbie buffs is not a problem. I do check for High level buffers at the entrance. And that is an option, but I don't park my high level buffers there. I don't PvP in there either, but a lot of people do.
If someone needs their name RED I have no problem with that. I'll keep coming back until they get bored. It usually doesn't take that long. Exp there is good too. Still not that easy to get a party to go in there though. There is some sort of event which does require a big party to do it, since mobs keep getting harder (some seem to start out impossibly hard). Not sure how that works.
Cruma might be fine for the lvl 40 to 55 range. Maybe need some other place for 30 to 45, but with 2nd CC quest and all, people just are not in those levels long. Not sure where would be good for 56 to 65 say and 66 to 75. The Kratei's Cube on Fantasy is an instance which allows for PvP/PvE for FI coins.. not sure if it's good for anything else, never got around to doing it. Has 2 level ranges 70 to 75 (I think) and 76+.
But for those players who do want PvP, and don't want to wait for lvl 80 or 83+, places like Cruma are just fine.
Side note: I hear about PKing in Cruma but I have yet to be PK'd there myself. People hoping to start PvP do hit my toons and I ignore them. They usually get the message. Also, mobs in Cruma are not wimpy, so my toons there have decent gear. Possibly some PK's do happen there, and some by accident, a crit can do a lot of damage, but most of my toons can take a few hits, even the robes. Exp is good enough there that any lost can be made up reasonably quickly, even if I can't bring in a Bish with 90% rez.
Bock, not sure, but I'm guessing it's gear and adena which are causing people to quit, more than the exp needed to level. Not that you can level well in common A or B grade. Over the years, I've seen a lot of people quit, for various reasons. Exping is not nearly as bad as it was, but the fast leveling has created a shortage of fun stuff in the lower levels. Too hard to get a group together all the right level and classes.
So people get close to A grade, haven't got to do the fun stuff. Have second rate gear, so can't really be a big help with the fun stuff. They have no money or stuff to sell to get money, and are looking at very expensive (or junky) A grade gear. I'm not surprised they up and quit. If you are having a hard go at lvl 58 or 60, then you will not be any better off at 61 or 62 or 64. If you have good B gear, you can get into mid A grade without much problem, but a lot of people only want the best, like people can easily get the 'best' gear in this game. Any one with really good stuff is keeping it.
Before the major fog revamp, mobs there were dropping great adena. Now? I can get better drops on my A graders at less of a cost for shots. It's sad :<
