I used to play on Teon back in the day, when I went inactive (somewhere in the late 2008) I sold all my S gear and accumulated around 1.4 billion adena (You know for the time I'd decide to come back!) Now that time came, (it so happened that Teon got merged into NAIA) and I reactivated, logged back and I only see 1.8 million adena on my character. I write petitions both ig and on website and the responses I get are ridiculous, bottom-line is "We don't have item logs, so we don't know where your adena went, sorry."
Anyone had this kind of a ridiculous situation before me? Is there any solution to this? GM-s not having item logs is for one a ridiculous thing and losing 1.4 b adena just for their inconvenience is quite a demotivator. Left with a 79 level character with no gear and no adena is a game over for me.
im pretty sure they have logs items...but maybe they cant check what happn with your items so many months ago..
i remember when i i had some item and i wanted to put to my personal wh..but i used freight and transfered to other toon..
i petitioned and gms said, your item is on toon name xxx .

evry item have unique id, so its more easy to track it...and adena adena is no id..<
Yeah I might have put it into freight for the other toon to pick up and then didn't pick up and left it in freight. Now that the freight system is gone so is the adena, but shouldn't GM-s just check and return MY stuff to me? :(
the stuff sended with freight was moved to inventory toon u sended -after freight option was deleted.

but its problem if u sended it to lvl 1 toon and after merge, lowest lvls toon got deleted.
dont know what to say try mail them again and again till they stop answering -when they stop it means u cant do anything.:(
Well now that you say it, I remember having a dwarf and some other toon on my acc, but now there were only 3! Adena might've been on one of those, I wrote a petition and waiting for their response now. Fingers crossed !

While I don't have an exact amount for how much was lost, I know it was roughly 300 mil adena, and way more than the 100K or so combined on all my accounts when I returned.
4 years ago, nearly everyone split their adena between their person and their warehouse, because we could drop items upon death. If you were unlucky, you could drop your bp or weapon and your game was finished, and this with 0 karma and 0 pk even. The chances were remote, but it could, and did, happen to my dwarf during a death to mobs while spoiling. Thank god the area I was in was remote and I could get back fast that time. Your adena was far more likely to drop, so NO ONE carried all their adena around.
Upon reactivating, I petitioned that my warehouse adena was not there. I received a response that my account had been checked and was not hacked. Well.. I know that, all my items were intact. I was just nearly penniless.
I KNOW I had adena in my Warehouse. Not only did that poof, within a few hours of the petition, all the seeds and manor items on my person poofed as well. Grant you they probably weren't useful after 4+ years, but we're not talking about things that COULD still have been turned in later, and they were mine. They were there when I first reactivated, vanished after I complained about my millions in lost adena.
Overall, I've been pleased with GM service since I've been back, the very few times I've petitioned. I feel they try to respond and help where they can. However, I restarted this game crippled, and if not for friends helping me out, I could not have continued. Not through any lack of effort on my part, but because my hard saved cash was missing. Not 1.4 billion worth, but the few millions I had was adena I earned.
I was the first bounty hunter dwarf on Gustin server, and the highest leveled bounty hunter dwarf for the first few months of L2. My chars were all created between April and May of 2004. Yah, I had some adena saved.

Well if that is the case the dwarf got deleted when they merged the servers I would guess.
Don't think they will be able to help you there, as the info on it says http://www.lineage2.com/archive/2010/09/server_merge_20.html get around to fix what needs to be done or your stuff gets deleted. And if it was on a toon that got deleted I dont think they got the loggs for it still.
But good luck anyway in hoping they find it.

Ncsoft thought it would be fun to reactivate all old accounts that were in good standing a few times. If anyone knew your info and password before u quit, its likely u got scammed. I know alot of old school players who had this happen.
If u didnt share your info then it probably got deleted when the lbl 1 dwarf u freighted it to was deleted on the merge.
Nice to know this. There are improvements seen in GM reactions, I am waiting to see how long till the DC quest is fixed since were ppl there all day some complaining they sent 5 petitions in last 2 days without answer and myself got "escalated".

Enjoy the game! It's changed quite a lot, and top tip is don't buy stuff too fast on market, take your time, because a good few shops are overpriced and same items are in the same town for 1/2 price.

I lost a lvl 3 shop seller during the merge and it took a while, but I got her back with all the stuff she had on her, including her $$$ and the stuff in her wh too.
While I panicked the GM's went out of their way to help and also reminded me of past actions, that I that I made and did not remember until they told me!
... so I wonder what the op really did with this 1.4 billion?

I can guarantee you NCSoft has monthly back up tapes for the past 3-7 years at off-site storage location.
That may be correct, question is how willing they are to get those tapes, restore the data somewhere and look through it. Some random GM probably can't do that anyway, he just has the normal logs. Also those are probably not the complete logs, just like you say some end-of-month backups.

I have NEVER EVER met anyone that has dropped adena on death.
If you refer to dropping adena upon death, that I'd never experienced myself, but others claim to have. Whether they lost a % of their adena or all their adena on them, I don't know. The most typical death drop was mats or soulshots, and I THINK you did not drop all of whatever stack you had, I don't remember that clearly.
Back then, keeping adena in WH was so widespread that at one point the GM's stated that adena would no longer be dropped. People warehoused adena anyway, including me, out of force of habit (no one said you could lose ANYTHING out of your warehouse so what was the harm?).
If you were very red back then, you dropped every single item on your person. As you are also an old player, I'm sure you remember the vulturous lynch mobs that chased reds, or had to 'escort' a red to AL or IT. Going red by accident back then (and some were actually baited red by level 1's dressed in higher leveled gear) was a game ender for some. But if the red had a cash stash back in their warehouse, they could possibly keep playing was the thought.

This past merge my lvl 1 mule dwarf got deleted that had alot of mats and money on it(forgot to delete 1 more toon on accident), but Pommo switched out my dwarf with the toon i didn't need the day after I petitioned. He's pretty helpful.

No, was in official. I didnt screenshot because to me it seemed "normal", since everything could drop as well (I droped all the pieces of my D grade armor once, to mobs too, IIRC). How the hell I suposed to think "I'll screenshot this because some years in the future some scrubs gonna doubt my word"? Yeah right...
